I like the fact that this guy is a full-on set piece threat. He's good in the air and would give us good options up front for less money that Cavani or Hulk

Think it's for the best. I'm really excited about KDB but can't see him getting much quality playing time here. A season in Germany is a step up from Belgium so he'll be raring to go next year

Sorry misquoted ^ you're right. What I said I meant to put after "oh wait"

Hahaha good point I'll shut up

Feel really sorry for him. Such a big deal to play for your country and with not that many minutes at Euro 2012 it would have been great to have a good run in London. Poor Juan

Post Oscar: who to come?who to go?
Funkyflashman replied to Duppy Conqueror's topic in Transfer Archives
My only real thought on our squad at the moment is to do with our width in the attacking third. The players who we have regularly seen play on the outside positions in the "3" have a tendency to be quite narrow. Hazard and Marin both like to cut inside and when Mata played out on the left on occasion last season he had a tendency to drift inside to pick up more of the ball. Ramires has been played on the right and I don't see quite so much desire to move inside like the others but it still seems to me that we lack a genuine WIDE player in the squad. I'm not trying to strike up comparisons between us and Barcelona because that is pointless, but we all saw what happened against us in the Semi-Final when without a player to provide width, we could defend very narrow and negate the neat one-two football that the play inside the penalty area. Pep even used Cuenca purely to stretch our back 4 out. I worry that a front three of Hazard-Mata-Oscar or equivalent would encounter the same problem against lesser teams who are more content to just shut up shop and not play. I think for that reason the only real addition to our squad that I would be really keen on is a player who can beat defenders outside rather than cutting in and put crosses in the middle. Then for me I would be completely happy with the team this season. -
You are delusional if you think Abramovich's hand was forced by the fans. He doesn't have to listen to any of us

Goal down oh well. Think there have been some very encouraging signs so far though!

Pretty much full strength then, given what we have to play with. Expected Marin for Meireles but no matter, looking forward to this!!

I think there is a fundamental difference here between being overrated and being overhyped. I for one would say that the amount of hype surrounding this team going into next season is extremely high, but that's what you get when you are one of the biggest clubs in the world and you are the holders of the Champions League. Supporters at this club want to win games and want to win trophies, and when we buy players who are hyped as the next big thing in football, that feeds the hype to the point where expectations are through the roof every single game. That's what I think has happened here... Yes we've bought some really fantastic players but they are all really, really young and we are only just starting to train together as a squad. Lot's of people will say that they are great players, they should be playing well straight from the go but football doesn't work like that. It's three games into our preseason, theres a lot of work still to do but we owe it to RDM to give them a bit of time to gel. We need to calm down and temper expectations IMO.

I'm liking the KDB + Hazard combo

http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/07/21/chelsea-turn-attention-to-23-3m-spanish-international-fernando-llorente-as-blues-continue-striker-hunt/ Not the greatest of sources but I've seen it cropping up as a story in a few places recently. If it's true it would seem we're pretty hell-bent on grabbing another striker before the season starts

Please God just make this official

GB women played Sweden I think!

What's the likelihood of this deal being done already? This would be amazing, looking forward to watching him tonight!

!!!?!?!?!!!

Cavani is 6 foot 2 and a big guy, probably bigger even than hulk
-
Did anything actually come of that?
-
Can't see Torres and Cavani in the same team I'm afraid. Would be cool though
-
Im sorry If that got on your nerves. I was just saying what I felt. Im not remotely pissed off, I'm fairly comfortable with where we are atm. I was just saying im comfortable if we went into the season with pretty much the team we have now. Sorry if it didn't look that way!

Is this directed at me...? I don't understand where any of that came from

I've got everything crossed
