LOL, the aforementioned names are not bigger talents than Lacazette. His a quality player and the biggest talent at Lyon.
-
One game? I can name high calibre players who have looked out of their depth in one game. Any player can have a complete off day. Milner is a very good player. I don't see how you can judge him on one game.
-
This. Milner is a good player but he won't leave City to join us. He will find himself in the same predicament. Don't see it happening at all.
-
Use your head mate come on... This is the big one as a win confirms our title. Do you really think Mourinho will start RLC? No chance. Highly doubt Oscar will start up front as well. Hopefully Costa and possibly Remy are fit to make the squad. I don't know why you always think RLC will play
-
Not to have a dig at Oscar or anything but for those who use his stats to say he is better than Willian, you can see the difference of when Willian performs and when Oscar performs. Willian just gives you much more. Pace, direct, dribbling and general better quality. So underrated and one of the key players in our team. There is no way Willian will be replaced for a 'better player' in the summer. He is important for our general all round play. So proud of his performance tonight.

Haha. The jinxing magic worked again
-
Bring on Cuadrado for Ramires please. On the other hand, Willian has been our best player by far tonight. Hope to see him more in the no.10 role.
-
I knew jinxing it would work
-
Sad to say but when I see Drogba in the line up it just feels like we are playing with 10 men.
-
Looks like Willian has started in the no.10 role. Hope this is the case as I believe this is his best position.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did play a weakened team. He is not going to throw the towel against us however Newcastle is much more of a winnable fixture for them than this game. Considering Newcastle have lost 7 on the trot and all the other atrocities going there, I could understand why Leicester would want to put more into that match than this one.
-
Well you have not watched Bertrand then. You would not be able to tell me much games where he had a poor game. It would be easy to put Azpi in the team because he plays for the soon to be champions etc but there two fullbacks have been excellent all season.
-
Bertrand has and has arguably been better. Both have had great seasons.
-
Why should Azpi walked into it? Yes, he has been excellent but Bertrand has been part of a defence that has kept one of the highest clean sheets if not the highest in the league this season. Bertrand has been excellent. Has scored and assisted and been excellently defensively. Bertrand deserves his place in that team.

I would rather us win the title next Sunday in front of our own fans than win the title away on a cold Wednesday night in Leicester. Point is more than welcome. Scene is perfectly set up for the Bridge next Sunday!
-
MOTM: Our defence! Simple as that. Fabregas had a very good game too. Not just his defensive work but it was him who created 2 of the best chances in the game and rarely lost possession. Great point!
-
Despite his drop off in form in the second half of the season it is criminal he did not get in the team of the season.
-
No. Suarez was excellent for the whole season. Did not turn up in some big games and as much as I love Hazard, if you compare the impact the two had, Suarez had a bigger impact. The difference in consistency with Sterling compared to this season and last speaks a lot. Last season he was consistent through out the season whe he forced himself into the team. This season not so. IMO, definitely because of Suarez as he made that team look great. There is a reason why Liverpool have regressed this season compared to last. Suarez! If Sturridge was fit for majority of this season I think they would of made a better challenge for top 4 and that is it. The impact Suarez had when he was there and when he was not is massive. 33 goals in the league and 12 assists. Come on. There is no way you can tell me Hazard has had a bigger impact. I think everyone knew when Suarez left, they would struggle to get in top 4 let alone be title contenders. Also he had about 3 bad big games, against us home and away and Arsenal away. He destroyed United, was excellent against Arsenal at Anfield and had an excellent game against City last season despite not scoring. Remember at the start of the season we were playing very attacking football but the ironic thing is Hazard's stats were not really impressive even though his performances were however he started to score and assist more since we play more conservative. As said, Hazard has been great and is the main reason we will win the title but Suarez was simply brilliant and untouchable last season.
-
Suarez did that for Liverpool. Goals galore and assists. I am not saying they are better than Hazard but did you see how good Suarez was in the second half of the season? He carried Liverpool.
-
Cahill has had some bad games like every other human but he has been a key player for us this season. There is countless games where he has been quality. Don't read in to that system excuse either. If you play good you play good. There is no CB that has had an excellent season. Even ones we are being linked with. Cahill has not been worse than them. Cahill has had a dip in form like the rest of our players have bar Hazard but majority of season has been very good.
-
Excellent performance by him. No doubt and the talent he has is amazing. Despite his slight figure, his balance is excellent. Boga was not dropped though. He has been recovering from an injury and was not 100%. That is why he did not play. If he was fit he would have started. Hopefully second leg we see both in the team.
-
Chelsea 3-1 United. That was last season? At the start of the season we were playing more attacking football. Yes, I agree but it is not as if that attacking approach has worked in the UCL. But, yeah apart from that I agree but like I was agreeing with the critics yesterday it is not as if that style of football was the only solution. I believe we could have played more attacking.football with the players we have.
-
I agree but I see it on both points. I disagree with you that Mourinho set up that way because we did not need to win. I think he probably would have done the same earlier in the season. Who knows. But yeah it worked however it is not the approach I want to see us keep playing in these games on a regular basis. While it has worked us wonders in the league the lack of attacking approach cost us in the UCL. I am proud of how we have wiped away the PL. Massive credit to Jose for that but for those who have criticized the approach are entitled to. Everyone is happy with the win but I don't like when I see some people on here accusing the moaners of not being a proper supporter etc and telling them to get a grip. Because like I was saying I think people are justified to feel unhappy with the performance. I am not in that category but I am not going to abuse or criticise people for moaning about the negative approach.

Being at home and being the better team, is there any reason why we could not of attack them? Yes, I understand that the plan worked but we are the better team. We are top for a reason and their injuries were more than ours. There is no reason to suggest we could not have played an attacking game. As I said, I am not disputing Mourinho's tactics as we won but I don't think people have a right to have a go at people who were frustrated after the match with our tactics. Because really and truly I reckon we could have hurt them if we showed them more of an attacking impetus. Especially when you see rookies in their team like Mcnair.
-
Great result and that and we done a good job in containg their attacking threats however I do understand why even post-match why people would be frustrated. We got the win but when you consider United had their 2 best holding mids out in Carrick and Blind and arguably all three first choice CB out in Rojo, Jones and Evans I reckon if we attacked them we could have taken them to the cleaners even with Drogba up front. We had enough attacking flair to hurt them. I am happy we got the win because if it ended a draw I would be really angry about how we did not attack them. I am not complaining like others simply because we on but everyone has a right to an opinion. I think we could have beaten United either way, playing the football we did yesterday or if we actually went out with an attcking approach. I would love us to go and attack Arsenal and show them who the title pretenders and contenders are. We will see.
