So true, where is Rijkard now, he won CL with barca, then dissapeared. For Mou sake, Pep should never come close to this club. I rather have Diego Simeone from Atletico instead, he looks like good tactic man and motivator. Hell, he would take Falcao with him too.
-
Expect tight win, our players might be tired, defence open, but there should be enough motivation to pull this through. 1-0 would be fine to me. Not conceding a goal after 7 conceded vs ManU games would be nice.
-
He fits on wing more than as false nine. We have plenty of creativity behind our striker. Currently we lack of end product, not creating chances. Our priority should be striker who is well at positioning and can score the goal anywhere inside penalty area. Someone who is experienced enough. Neymar is fantastic player, if he played on wing for us, that would be awesome, but not as our main striker. And about his attitude, lets be professional and keep emotions away as long our club would be winning because of him. His pricetag, however is ridiculous, mostly because he never played in europe yet. 60mio is just too much. 35 would be more apropriate.

Long balls, ball control, movement, tackling, marking. He is arguably the best DM in the world right now.
-
He can play CB too right? He would also be perfect as DM, since he always tracks back and has great positioning and tackling. Even Luiz would go forward, we would still have this guy along another CB. De rossi and luiz could also rotate through the match between CB and DM. His passing is great, and what we realy need now is some more experience amongst these youngsters. Defences are always strong if defenders play together for longer time and are also older. De Rossi is very experienced, and wouldnt cost more than Hummels. Could give great balance between attack and defence, Im just worried where would Rambo, KDB,...then play... And I heard Rossi is/was in fight with his coach. Wouldnt mind if we try, however this is hard to happen.

People 'invented' racism. With all those campaigns to stop racism are only making it bigger. People thinking is wrong. If I say to my best friend who is black, that he is monkey just for fun, people around who dont know the joke will say Im racist. If i say monkey to a white friend, no one gives a shit. If we are all the same, why people respond to a white man differently than to a black? Because he is black or what? And that is already a racism, but we are not aware of it...I mean, we are all equal, so why this thinking and separating black people and white people... If we hadnt created racism, saying monkey to a black man would be same as saying it to white man. The point is not to say it, but what do you think of that men, why did you said that. Anyway what pisses me is that some fuckheads are intentionaly hurting black people just because they are black. And when some idiot like that guy Galvin shows racism, whole club as institutuon loses some reputation because of that.

Dede from Vasco da Gamma should be taken into consideration too.

Our board has time until january or summer to bring new striker. They should discouse about price they are willing to spend for a new striker, talk to Di Matteo about his style of play and how certain strikers that are available fit to his system and then talk to some more important players in team like Hazard, Mata, Oscar,...what they think about it. Who they think it will fit most, who impressed them when he played against us and so on. I dont want decision who we bring comes from Roman who will pick Falcao for example just because he is ripping la liga now. The PL is different, Chelsea are no Atletico and if someone is best in spain, its not necessary that he will be best in England. When Falcao who was wanted by biggest clubs in europe joined Atletico, I thought he can be star in smaller club, but not big star in big club. There is lot of options along Falcao and Cavani; Jovetic, Lewandowski, Damiao,...Let he be a class player, experienced and in good form when we buy him, not with bags of potential only. Im just curious why no one mentioned Jackson Martinez yet. Guy is beast and quite cheap for now. At Porto in 11 matches, 8 goals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ3vHARQn9M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHYWWPCG0qI Great potential, he is very strong and could be next Falcao realy. Maybe even more suitable for PL. Porto has some huge talents in their lines all the time, Martinez, Rodriguez, Danilo, Alex Sandro, Moutinho, Maicon, Mangala, Otamendi.

Im no racist, just saying that Boateng technicaly isnt completely german player (his parents are ghanian). Someone said that not all german defenders are good (naming Boateng) and I only told him that Boateng is not german, but ghanian player realy. If my post upseted you, I apologise.
-
No help for you sir, If you think that Hummels and Howedes are bad defenders. Period.
-
I also watched him in CL (last year and this) and also few games vs Bayern. And he was quite impressive on most of them. If you want to point out that he makes many mistakes, then Kompany, Pique, Ramos,...all do lot of mistakes. Its weird that their teams still win 80% of all the games anyway despite they are their teams best defenders. Funny fact. If Hummels would be bad defender, his club would concede many goals. However he is Borusia best CB and that team is doing very well In defence since he and Subotic are playing regulary. Luiz for example is our weakest piece of team in defence. Therefore Hummels is miles ahead of Luiz then. Im not saying Hummels is perfect, but he is regarded at age 23 as one of best defenders and that has some weight.
-
A german defender is trusty defender. Mertesacker is special case because of his height, while Boateng has ghanian roots. Hummels proved to be great defender on euros, but made huge mistake vs italy that ended with goal. However he was supeerb on other matches and he is very young and relatively unexperienced outside germany, so its normal that he was more nervous in semifinals. But tell me, which defender doesnt make mistakes here and there? Pique, Silva, Kompany, Ramos, Pepe,..all make mistakes too. Sure Luiz makes lot of mistakes, but Hummels doesnt not. His playing style is similar to Luiz (with more carefull tackles), while his tactical awarness is on different level. And remember that you become great defender after 26, more experience the better. Luiz has enough time to learn.
-
If Mou was be here, he would make Luiz world class defender for sure. We have plenty of players available, but it seems that some are too old, too young, inconsistent,...RDM needs to make them better. He is the coach and only he can fix Luiz issue.
-
We dont need him, right? But just in case we get him, what would we do with Luiz then? Terry/Cahill would be one cb, while other would then be Hummels. I like Luiz and wouldnt want him to be sold or sit on bench either. But current defence is a joke.
-
Not realy, because Cahill and Iva would score more goals than Luiz could receive on other half. Simple
-
I must admit, I was sceptic about how small this team might be in strong league, but now I see other teams have strong players and we have the beautiful game. All these talents properly evolving and playing lot, we could have next era even better than Lamps, Drogba and Terry one. Fix the defence and attack and we are on top.
-
I dont blame him to be poor. It was his first full match in a while. I blame him for his selfish play. By all this time on the bench, he probably couldnt advance in shooting, but progress should be seen in his head - team work.
-
What about both? Cahill-Iva It would be a killer attack, massive air treat
-
Well he scored against RM, Bayern,..but he cant turn the match around if you ask me. He cant make that magical dribbling and shot in the end like Drogba did on big matches. Or Falcao doing now. Strikers goal is to score goals, so he will score them vs Rm, Bayern,... but these goals would come from any top striker. What Falcao is doing now is unbelievable. New match, new superb performance. Lewandowski for example scored goal vs Real on counter, Borrussia is team that mainly plays on counters (maybe Lewandowski wouldnt even fit us), but then he was similary good to Gotze, Reus, Smelczer, Pisczek,...Falcao vs Chelsea or Bilbao was something else. He was THE key player of every attack, of all goals. Without him, Atletico wouldnt won probably. But yes, all are world class, however there are not many big game strikers. Drogba, Falcao, Ibra are few of them. Lewandowski is not near their level, yet. Big game player to me plays in big games (usualy finals or sth) and to get to finals, you must have great team. And when you are on completely different level then all those players, you are something special. Drogba was for us, Falcao is for Atletico, Messi is for barca, Ronaldo for RM, Ibra was for Milan/PSG,...you cant say that without Lewandowski, Borussia wouldnt be great. While We wouldnt win CL without Drogba, Atletico wouldnt be so good vs us if they wouldnt have Falcao, PSG would be shit without Ibra... At some point, you are right, but Lewandowski is not big game player. Yet.

So, I will made deep analysis, based on my knowledge and data I found on web to compare Cavani and Falcao, who fits our squad more. First Falcao; He is overall a better player then Cavani, for sure, give him the ball and he can score from anywhere inside penalty area. On edge, left side, right side, bicycle kick, volleys, lobs,...anything. Great penalty taker aswell. He is also deadly in air, when team mates cross to him, despite only 1,77m, he jumps higher than most of SPANISH defenders (note that in england, defenders will cover him more tight and are also stockier and stronger). He is great with both feet, can create his own chances and can bring victory to his team on any match. Stamina is great, pace is good (Cavani is faster), relatively strong for his size. Had great matches vs us, Real or Barca, regular scorer in europa league, but he still has to show his skill in CL. Last season, he scored 42 goals and made 6 assists. Now to Cavani: As he plays in Italy, he is facing stronger defences, but the defenders there are not that fast as those in Spain or even in PL. He has similar atributes as Falcao, but his shooting is not on that level (but still very good), however, he could improve much. Year younger, already played in european competitions (CL) and scored goals vs City and us. He did well in top club competition, while Falcao didnt realy inspire in CL yet. While at Atletico, everyone plays on Falcao, Napoli had 3 similar players last year; Cavani, Hamšik and Lavezzi and still Cavani scored 30+ goals. I also think that as we will play lot on Hazard and Mata as well (if Falcao comes to us, he wont be THAT important as he is in Atletico), maybe Cavani would fit better, as he played with equal players at Napoli. Perhaps he isnt as clinical finisher as Falcao is, he has other advantages. He is taller (I will explain that later) faster and has much better TEAM WORK than Falcao. As soon Falcao gets the ball, he will shoot 9/10 times. Cavani however, will pass if he sees the better chance or completely open team mate. Along 36 goals, he also had 10 assists (in CL; 5 goals, 2 assists). Im sure that vision and passing abilities are very important for striker and in comparisson to Falcao, the later is much more selfish player (but as long he scores goals, no one will complain, right?). And its not just about assists, but at Chelsea, we play double passes a lot and if we had striker who can pass back, that would be much better, specialy to open up the defences. So, Chelsea play offensive play (much similar to Napoli and passing trio of Cavani, Hamšik and Insigne, while Atletico plays on counter attacks with lot of crosses). The offensive play also forces opponent to pull back and tighten their defence. The main danger of Falcao at atletico are his fast counter attack runs and crossing from sides. Chelsea is close to neither close to Atletico style. We dont cross so much, but pass more while counters are also more third plan to our players. It would be difficult to our players to adopt crossing and counter attacking just because of the new striker. It might never work aswell. Cavani would fit more to this as he is passing a lot with Hamšik and back in time, with Lavezzi aswell. Another thing is that Cech still loves to kick the ball long into the middle of the field, like he did to give the ball to Drogba. Just because Falcao can jump high in penalty area and push the ball in the net, its completely different to catch the ball and control it in middle of 4 opponent players and then run with it towards opponent goal. He lacks height here, while Cavani is almost 8centimetres higher (1,84m), he could easily catch the ball without jumping. Also he is harder to push of the ball I guess, two facts; Italian league is physicaly stronger than spanish, and secondly his goals against us and City were based on his strenght aswell - he was strong enough to block Kompany, Lescott, Cahill, Luiz, Terry when scoring those goals. Juve, Milan and Inter also had/have world class defences and he still scored many times against them. And Milan had Thiago Silva last year, there was match where Cavani scored hattrick vs Milan. Something different than score goal vs barca who has shit defence for such top team or even us, who conceded 3 goals, scored from Falcao, but its obvious that our defence while we play Cahill-Luiz sucks and anyone better could score three goals when Luiz has bad day. I will let conclusion to you, I rate Falcao as worlds best striker ahead of Cavani, but some things question me, Falcao is very similar to younger Torres, he is not that tall despite high jumping and there is also posibility that he just couldnt scoring goals for us, we dont cross much and dont play on counters. Both would cost around 40-60mio, but I think Cavani would be still cheaper considering that Falcao is actualy scoring every game nowdays. My pick probably would be Cavani, but I wouldnt care who comes realy of these two, I just fear that Falcao could turn to be hot shot only in Spain, not in league like PL. Who knows realy...Falcao proved that he can be king in smaller club and europa league, but can he lift top club in champions league?
-
We could actualy embarass them...

cmon

Considering we have terrible strikers and defence, victory with one scored goal and none conceded would be enough for me. Im pretty sure we wont trash them with either Torres or Danny upfront. If only Moses would know how to score regulary. He was great today. He took his chance, unlike Sturridge, Piazon,...
-
Well better than defeat, but the game showed we have some SERIOUS issues. Strikers are terrible, defence is terrible and midfield is just not strong enough. We have players, but they dont do the work. Terry is getting old, Luiz makes mistakes,Rambo, Mikel, Romeu,..all look inconsistent. But buying another CM is just goodbye to either Rambo, Romeu or Mikel. Defo, we need strong forward like Cavani and strong cb like Hummels. I just wonder where would Luiz then play. We cant just bench 30mio defender.

United with their second squad is winning against our first. Embarrasing And that was certain penalty........................................
