Meh. Major bore-fest of a game. Bertrand MOTM again for me. Defence was solid but the same can't be said about our attack. Overall, at least we did not lose. A decent point in the end. Next..
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4269828/Gary-Cahill-Big-games-are-the-reason-why-I-joined-Chelsea.html A long interview on Cahill regarding the Barcelona match, Messi, RVP, Arsenal and Terry.
Can't believe there is still the second leg to come.. Anyway, the boys did well last night and Baker's goal was class after being setup nicely by Piazon. Chalobah's through ball for the 3rd was excellent and it was wonderfully finished by Feruz. Also, seems that we have a quality RB for the future in Todd Kane.
Saw someone mentioned on Twitter that RDM went to talk to Hiddink about this game. Not sure if it is true because no one picked up on it but it makes sense if he did anyway.
Nah. He is fine. That was his 1st yellow of the competition this season. Luiz(out injured anyway), Ivanovic, Meireles, Cole & Ramires are the ones 1 YC away from a UCL suspension.
IF you want more encouraging stats: 1. Chelsea have scored first in all 11 of their Champions League games this season. 2. Chelsea have opened the scoring first in 12 of 13 matches under RDM. The other was a 0-0 draw against Spurs at SB. 3. Barcelona have conceded in all Champions League home games this season except against Bate Borisov & Viktoria Plzen. Milan scored 3 in 2 matches against them at the Camp Nou while even Leverkusen got one there.
It was slightly embarrassing to watch Drogba with his theatrics on Wednesday BUT considering that it was against Barcelona, I couldn't be bothered. They need to have a taste of their own medicine!
His save against Puyol/Thiago was perhaps the most important of all. For a moment, I thought it had gone it and went bonkers about the marking on Puyol..
