  1. Sheeesh. All this big games are sure coming thick and fast. Rotation(again) will be key here and do think we can get a positive result with our recent momentum and more importantly, if get our attitude right!
  2. IF only Sturridge was less selfish and more importantly, been defensively better, he would have started more games under RDM and give us more threat & pace going forward down that right flank.
  3. Don't think he should be playing next week. The game plan in which we are gonna use against Barcelona doesn't suit him one bit and we may need more attacking threats from the right than just the left like last night.
  4. Agree. And funny Busquets was having a go at Drogba for his play-acting & time wasting. Hoping for more of the same next week from Drogba at the Camp Nou.
  5. Don't think he had a poor game. It's just the entire game plan of sitting back & hitting Barca with a quick direct counter attacking approach doesn't suit him. Not sure if he should start at the Camp Nou next week either.
  6. Thought he was pathetic in the 1st half, making some silly challenges and was perhaps very lucky for not getting booked! That said, he got better in the second half and did his job very very well. So, credit to him.
  7. Think it was because he struggled early on with Iniesta, Fabregas's run and 1-2 occasions where he backed too much and turned to his back when Barca got a shot away.
  8. Arguably Cole's best performance this season. Saved us again with yet another goal-line clearance, made some vital last minute challenges & did well when going forward too.
  9. He certainly played very very well tonight and credit to the lad but he got a little bit of stick on Twitter in the first half.
  10. Really don't know what to say. The performance far exceeded my expectations. We were absolutely brilliant defensively but got a bit lucky on a couple occasions. Then again, you always need luck against this Barcelona side. Perhaps we should have done better on the few attacking chances but at least we were clinical with one of them. Lampard's pass to Ramires was absolutely sublime and for a moment, I actually thought Ramires messed up the pass but thank goodness Drogba finished it! Can hardly picked a MOTM tonight. Everyone worked their socks off and they deserved credit for that. That said, thought Cole was absolutely immense today and it was arguably his best performances after the recent dipped in form. Gonna be a mammoth task at the Camp Nou next week but at least this result gives a chance - even if it is a tiny one - to progress to the final. And here's a couple of stats to give hope:
  11. CFC: Cech, Ivanović, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Mikel, Meireles, Ramires, Mata, Drogba. Torres on the bench & no Pique for Barcelona apparently. EDIT: Barcelona starting line up: Valdés; Dani Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Adriano; Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta; Cesc, Messi y Alexis.
  12. A win(hopefully + clean sheet) or 0-0 draw tonight will be a positive result heading into 2nd leg. Anything else and it is a disaster.
  13. Less than 4 hours to go & the nerves are well kicking in already!!
  14. Reading have done it! They're back in the Premier League for next season after winning tonight. Brian McDermott has done an amazing job since he took over and they deserved this. On the other side, here's hoping that West Ham crash in the playoffs & QPR join them in the Championship next season!
  15. Bayern deserved the win. Been the better side although doubt Mourinho will mind the 2-1 defeat. Have that away goal.
  16. Heard that but nah, think he should be alright.
  17. Hence, a chance to prove himself now, to prove that he can do it consistently at the highest level!
  18. He has done well so far but the upcoming games will be much bigger than before especially if he plays in the Barcelona ones.
  19. As much as I have enjoyed the magnificent cup wins under RDM, I can only wish we can swap those wins with 3 points in the league.
  20. With Luiz out for the next 2 weeks, time for Cahill to step it up. He said he came here for games/occasions like this, well, time to prove himself and show what he is made of.
  21. Erm, no. They didn't but they did shut down Sweden...
  22. Why if?? I'm majorly concern with our defence at the moment. Ivanovic still out for 2 more domestice games while Terry is playing with an injury. And not forgetting, Ivanovic is 1 YC away from a UCL suspension.
  23. Huge blow for us with so many big games coming up. Time for Cahill to step it up I guess.
  24. No. Only Puyol & Mascherano are.
