  1. The thought of Leeds buying themselves back in the Premier League
  2. Messi is an idiot if he doesn't recognise that tiki-taka is about as defensive a tactic as can be. The whole point of retaining the ball is to stop the other team from having opportunities to attack. Why not move it up the pitch more quickly and directly? That's attacking.
  3. What's this about? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4055329/Mystery-of-John-Terrys-46m-mortgage.html I didn't think someone on 170k/week would need mortgages
  4. It seems to be in motion: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120626/a-club-statement-on-investment_2247585_2823554 Though it sounds like they're getting in a rich person as an investor rather than an outright owner, so they probably won't have the same freedom in the transfer market as ourselves, Man City and PSG did/do.
  5. It seems we have to pay 40 million or Levy will tell us to fuck off. Basically their only reason for not selling to us for the same price as they do to other clubs is "WE ARE TOTTENHAM SUPER TOTTENHAM FROM THE LANE FROM THE LANE!!!11!!!!!!1111!!!!! "
  6. Salomón, that's what he offers. The name!!!
  7. Not as well written as The Prophet Armed but still, Deutscher is a fantastic historian.
  8. On the subject of airlines, you really can't beat Qantas. /plugging my parents employers.
  9. That Liverpool doco is disgracefully off the mark. Sauber and Audi, now this. Forget renaming the Bridge.
  10. Let me straighten something out: If any of you (and I know many of you do) think I am a troll for loving players who are shit and not liking players who are great, please, put me on your ignore list. Right now. For the record, I am completely sincere in each and every one of my posts involving the scapegoat armada. I genuinely rate Kalou, Malouda, Bosingwa, Mikel et al higher than Terry, Lampard, Torres et al. If that makes me a troll in your eyes, so be it, I'm not changing my views to please a few people. This forum has an ignore function. Instead of attacking me and calling me things I'm not, please make use of it. I am not and have never considered myself a troll and I'm sick of the innuendo.
  11. People know that I support the scapegoats and do not similarly support the entitled members of our squad, respectively. I don't know how it can be interpreted as spamming once that is taken into account. I will always rate the scapegoats above the entitled, because the entitled can swan around doing what they like and the majority of us still think the sun shines out their boots while the scapegoats get one little thing wrong and they're figures of immense hatred. Let's keep things in perspective. John Terry is better than Bosingwa at kicking a ball around a patch of grass . Bosingwa is better at every other aspect of life; take out the fact that Terry is an excellent footballer and plays for Chelsea and you're looking at a man with no plus points whatsoever. Both of them deserve our support on the pitch and that's what I always give footballers at this club, equal support when they're on the pitch. I can't for the life of me believe that my commitment to serious posting on this forum and my commitment to supporting Chelsea is being called into question here. So I happen to not believe that our legends are the source of everything that is good and pure in the world, and that our less talented players are responsible for AIDS, cancer, terrorism, and global warming; that might make me different to a lot of posters on this forum but so what? What's the problem? I'm not permitted to think that Terry is inferior to Bosingwa? Am I to formulate my opinion on the value of a man purely based on how good he is at football? On how deserving he is to lift a trophy or play for a club based on his ability? Or on his years of service to a club? This is a forum and it only exists because of differing views. To attack me personally, to call into question my commitment and emotional attachment to this club, all for not seeing an issue the same way as the majority do is a callous act that I take supreme offence to.
  12. Worse than the bloke who didn't even play?
  13. Oh, the irony. Zolayes leaves because he didn't like the reaction to the "Bring back Peace thread". Now we're having a new thread as a result of "Bring back Zolayes".
  14. I don't understand you, I genuinely think I'm comfortably one of the least intelligent posters on this forum. At least I'm confident that's the case academically. It's why I can relate a bit to Kalou. I'm not the most intelligent, I've had to work my arse off to get to uni. If uni entry was based on a one-off, on the spot test, I wouldn't have gotten into any university, let alone one of the best in the state. And for the record I don't consider myself a troll, the vast majority of my posts are deadly serious unless marked with a trollface.
  15. That would be me. Though to be fair what makes this place far better than other Chelsea forums is the welcoming, friendly nature of it. I felt at home almost immediately.
  16. No? To borrow how Football Manager describes these situations: "Mistake leading to goal".
  17. Yeah, it was the mix-up between Cesar (who came out) and Melo that messed it up. He should have let Cesar catch it. Cesar had it with ease, it would have been a regulation catch.
  18. There was no dissent. Ivanovic stomped his feet on the penalty spot. He didn't say a word to the referee or look at him when the penalty was awarded. Ramires' booking was because he got involved in the Terry thing, and from memory all he did was try and get the players to separate. Meireles got his by making a tackle, he was trying to help the team by winning the ball back. It's completely different to assaulting a player for no reason at all. Perhaps he begged because he thought he got the ball.
  19. Yeah, though unlike him they weren't stupid. Ivanovic and Ramires got theirs for 'dissent'; which is highly debatable, and Meireles got suspended by attempting a tackle, so he was putting the team ahead of himself. Though I think UEFA should change the rules again. Suits only and no participation in the first lifting of the trophy, though they can join the podium thing on the pitch.
  20. It was not just Bosingwa. If Bosingwa wasn't there, Meireles was standing directly behind him and Terry wouldn't have been seen anyway. What matters is the captain on the night lifted the trophy, everyone saw him, and that's the way it's always worked.
  21. No, I would instantly have dropped my liking for Kalou. However, like every Chelsea player, my personal feelings for them are irrelevant when they pull on the shirt, I'll support them and wish them the best even if I don't really like them.
  22. So if Bosingwa did that and then issued an apology later is it all fine and dandy?
  23. You misunderstand. A poster earlier said he hated Bosingwa. I pointed out that Bos has done nothing except play below expectations for the past 3 years, while Terry has let us down time after time with his callous lack of regard for what is expected of him as captain off the pitch, and insane levels of irresponsibility on the pitch. All the other targets of hate, the scapegoat armada, have also done nothing except play below expectations at times. If you're going to hate someone for losing their form, there won't be a single footballer in the world you won't be hating at some point. He's the captain and the face of our club. As captain he sets an example for the entire squad and is supposed to be in command of his emotions. As the face of our club he should try his utmost to keep his nose clean and avoid causing scandals that bring the name of the club and his team mates, fans, sponsors and other stakeholders by association, into disrepute. He most certainly is not supposed to get himself sent off in the toughest challenge of his life for no reason at all. That interview after the sending off was beyond belief, he didn't once accept guilt or take responsibility for his actions, he tried passing it off as a dive from Sanchez. It doesn't matter if it was a dive or not, it's never acceptable to strike, kick, knee, elbow or headbutt an opponent. I know Drogba did just that in Moscow but the circumstances were different, in that he wasn't captain.
