  1. At least he tries to. Last season for a while he was the only one who bothered with being direct.
  2. Penalties are something entirely different. I think he would have converted that if it had been a chance from open play.
  3. The newer players simply won't get involved in this shit. The old ones are only into it because Mourinho built them up with that Untouchable's shit and inflated their egos. The whole dressing room power has been exacerbated by weak managers that followed Mourinho, like Grant, Ancelotti and Villas-Boas. Managers who openly tried to break it apart, like Scolari, were dealt with almost immediately.
  4. What's the most we can get for him? 10 million? Let's just cut our losses and try to salvage something out of this. He won't deliver for us, and its not the team's problem he can't put away the chances he does get. He could well be in double figures by now had he not missed those sitters that I, perhaps the worst finisher in the world, could have scored. It won't matter if we give him 20 chances a game with some kind of dream team midfield or just the 1 or 2 he gets now, he will never be a 50 million pound player. To be frank, he could play in the A-League and still look ordinary, which is saying something as the quality of our league is poor.
  5. I for one think our board and the shoddy relationship between Roman, his yes-men, and the club is our weakest link. The squad probably follow as the next weakest, though.
  6. Fair play can be easily circumvented, though. What's to stop Roman purchasing a million Chelsea shirts at 100 pound each (using a fake name or bank account of course) to give us a cash inflow? Or something of the sort, like Man City's deal with Etihad. It's not right for us to sack him yet. If he fails to get us to 4th, we need to seriously think about it as not playing in the Champions League is a nightmare scenario for this club.
  7. The Drogba faction, I feel, has more power these days than the Terry faction. We know for sure that it was the Drogba/Cech/Ballack lot that got rid of Scolari, the JT group haven't really done much of late, although they may have been partly responsible for José's departure Coincidentally, those 4 you named as those showing desire are the ones I don't think are involved in dressing room politics. Get this mob of wannabe Obama's out or shatter their source of power: the countless people between Roman and the club.
  8. Neither are Drogba and Torres, unfortunately. As long as he's good enough to get, say, 20 goals for 50 appearances, we should look into signing him.
  9. Does anyone regularly watch Napoli? If so, what are their weaknesses? I think (given how poorly we have been finishing of late) we need to get goals from set pieces or counters as we just don't have the form to create and convert enough chances at the moment.
  10. He's outscored the likes of Ibrahimovic, Benzema, Cavani and Hulk in this years Champions League. And to be fair, I'd rank the Russian league ahead of Belgium. It's not that bad a league, although obviously much lower than the Premiership. He's a cheaper alternative than many of the strikers we've been linked with, and I'm inclined to think he'll perform to a better level than what Torres and Drogba have delivered this season, straight away.
  11. Another thing, what's Redknapp going to do as England manager? Roam around Eastern Europe looking for out-of-contract Englishmen? And I will eat my dog if José or Hiddink ever, ever, manage Spurs.
  12. Redknapp will get a win-win situation. If England get knocked out even earlier than usual, he can blame it on the disarray that the squad was in when he inherited it, etc. If he lucks out and England make it to the quarters/semi's, he'll have the media fawning on him and a much more enhanced reputation. Seems like the kind of deal that slimy bloke likes to take. You have to admire (grudgingly) his opportunism. One upshot of the whole affair is that Spurs will go back to mid table mediocrity. VdV, Modric, Bale etc. will probably leave and it would be great if we could snap up one of them.
  13. That's a great video! There used to be some old videos around of our squad's antics under Mourinho, which involved a lot of screaming, but they look happier in this.
  14. Look at that ecstasy on his face on the second picture. Despicable.
  15. I think the best case scenario for him next season should he leave La Liga would be for us to find a low mid table/relegation battler type team for him to play for.
  16. Surely this shit is not true: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2097966/Arsenal-want-Chelseas-Daniel-Sturridge.html
  17. Cech's not even 30 yet. He potentially has 7 or 8 world class years ahead of him.
  18. That was the single worst act I have ever seen on a football field. The lack of professionalism, or even a code of basic ethics is incredible. I'm not convinced that that's true. By the oldest generation, do you mean those who took part in the civil rights movement? In any case, black youths hear/learn such things from their parents and other adults around them.
  19. It's not commercially viable so we'll never get to have it in our homes, unfortunately.
  20. Wow google translate is awful. "A former teacher, "Chelsea," Ancelotti defends John Terry, who persecutes the English press, accusing it of racism." And some of the comments, like: Just someone to want it badly, that's all. "Passepartout, inappropriately making mountains out of molehills." ©. Someone is trying to cook up a dinosaur ...
  21. We could use any Chelsea player for that, tbf.
