Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
capriccioso replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'm sorry for my overreaction, if I'm one of the appalling posters you alluded to earlier. It was an initial surge of anger, and I regret burning the Lampard shirt, I could have gotten $10 for it if I sold it. Andre deserved more. He was a gentleman, he tried, he fought, but he's been undone by players that are unfit to wear the shirt anymore and have grandiose notions of managing the club one day. I hope for our sake, for Blues worldwide, that that never happens. He deserved far, far more than what we gave him. As fans, some of us questioned his every move. The media hounded him for months. The players and the board shafted him. I love Chelsea, with a passion that is life consuming, but I cannot tolerate such actions committed by anyone, even if its done by people who have a connection with the club, from legendary status with Lampard to general cunt Gourlay. Just because they've done stuff for us in the past, scored some goals, whatever, does not mean they have a blank cheque to waltz around the club and do what they like. -

I hope this is true, make it happen Diego: http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/football-hotline/2012/03/04/frank-lampard-wanted-by-diego-maradona-at-al-wasl-102039-23774862/ -
Who's there is a more relevant question than who now. We don't have much of a choice, it'll be first come first served. Won't be surprised if Big Sam throws his hat in the ring.

Roman is living in some kind of fantasy world, he must think footballers are like property, that they appreciate and are worth more as they age. He can't figure out that thats not the case, as far as he's concerned, he's invested 400 million and the players cannot be declining. -

While I'm there I could do the same to the Board. -

I want to fly to London right now, and slide in on Lampard 2 footed from behind with 12 inch long steel studs. Fuck off you cunt, you are no longer a Chelsea legend, in my eyes, you're just a piece of shit who's outlived his usefulness. -
Why did we let him go? Was it work permit troubles, wage demands or Malouda keeping him out of the first team? If it's the last that deserves a huge facepalm.

Quality goal. Zidane like.

Here's another SSD job: Home kit: Or if you prefer, I did an away version: I know its not typical adidas and there's no trademark 3 stripes. I could integrate that if you think it looks better.

I don't quite get the Rio de Janiero montage at the start. Wasn't he from the north of Brazil? Some parts of that video are absolutely outrageous, like at ~5:10 where he somehow keeps control over the ball despite being almost parallel to the ground.

Best of his generation? Probably. Best of all time? Absolutely no chance. Pelé is by far and away and without a shadow of doubt, the greatest player this sport has, or will ever see. I for one rank the great Eusébio as the equal second greatest striker of all time, on par with Maradona simply because he carried Benfica and Portugal on his shoulders. Messi will never rank among those 3, Maradona and Eusébio were both by far the greatest players their respective clubs and countries produced and are solely responsible for the successes of their respective clubs and countries. As his teammate at Benfica and Portugal once said, "With Eusébio we could have been tri European Champions, without him maybe we could win the League." Messi has a long, long way to go to catch him and overtake him in my books as the equal 2nd greatest striker in the history of this game. I'd rank Messi behind Ronaldo (the fat one), di Stefano and Puskas as the 6th best attacker.

Should AVB be sacked for Mourinho?

"Red Rom" is the most unpredictable man on the planet. Don't get into the idea of thinking you've worked him out, the next second he'll do something completely unexpected to throw you off. edit: It's how great men like him work. Sick of being surrounded by sycophants who will betray him in a heartbeat to claim his power and fortune, always plotting to bring him down, he will keep the insects that scurry around off balance. -
That is simply all kinds of awesome. Well done, that is an absolutely brilliant kit.

They're having a great time of it right now. When vdv, Modric, Bale, etc. move on (which can't be too far) they'll go back to spunking 15 million on the David Bentley's of the world. The only way for them from here is down, they've peaked but never took advantage of it. -

Anyone who really thinks a small time club like Spuds can attract any manager above the class of decent is as deluded as a Scouser. -

Can't we give him a lock in contract where he absolutely cannot leave until it expires? -

Mourinho coming back would leave me in a more ecstatic state than when we won the double. If we do let go of AVB, we have to pull out everything we've got to bring Jose back. There is absolutely no one else left with quality and experience who would take this job, except Rafa, but his quality is debatable and I'm sure we'd all agree Rafa would be the worst manager in the recent history of this club. -

Maybe the poll/thread should be renamed to "If AVB is sacked, would you support Jose returning as manager". I voted yes, but I don't want AVB to be sacked.
