Your point is a proven fact. Our midfield was exposed on numerous occasions in nearly every game we played this season. It was far too easy for opposition to penetrate the center of our midfield and this was mainly down to not having a naturally combatant midfielder in the 'pivot role'. Rafa managed to bring solidity to our structure as a team by the end of the season which is what I felt won us that precious Champions League spot. Before we were disjointed and weak in the center of the park and this has to be addressed for next season without any shadow of a doubt and that should be our first priority in this summer transfer window. I have no doubt in my mind that Mourinho will bring that solidity back to our game once again. I say first priority because it isn't just our main, as I think if we truly want to mount a serious assault on the title and Champions League next season we will need a 20 goal + striker to fire us through yet another long season. Our midfield has bundles of goals in them but we cannot rely on Eden and Mata to keep carrying the average goalscorers in BA and Torres. All the top teams in Europe who have found success this season and in the history of the game posses a prolific goalscorer and just because we have goals in our midfielders we are no exception to the truth of success.

I wouldn't say he is worth 30 million British pounds but he is for me, a top quality player. I think it was Blue-In-My-Veins who likened Jovetic to Del Piero and he was spot on with that comparison. Jovetic is very skillful and can take on players with nimble and delicate touches. He think's two touches ahead of the incoming tackle, like Hazard does this making him very hard to stop. He has a natural ability to score from outside the box but he is also a deadly poacher inside the 6 yard box. I remember watching him vs Inter Milan a few years back and for his size he was just an absolute beast and dominated them from start to finish with flair and flamboyant skill. There was a video of that performance on youtube but I can't find it. Sorry Muzchapio. After an explosive introduction for Fiorentina in the 09/10 season, Jovetic suffered a crucial ligament injury in pre-season that kept him out for the whole of the 10/11 season in Italy. When he returned that was when we were being rumoured to have an interest in bringing Jovetic to the Bridge. He came back with a bang and brought his old form back with him. We didn't follow up with our interest for Jovetic then and I have heard very little of us being interested by him now. Here's a little vid (the best I could find on youtube) of his goal scoring ability that will give you the jist of what Jovetic is about in terms of goals and skill. I think, given the fact that Cavani and Falcao are the more complete striker and are valued at 50 millions Euro's then maybe Jovetic is worth 30 considering he is only 23 years old. I have said previously that he isn't worth 30 million British Pounds but 30 million Euros then yes he is. I haven't included Lewandowski in that debate because I truly believe he is going to Byern but I could be wrong. If we miss out on Edison and Falcao then attempting to hijack the move of Jovetic from Fiorentina to Arsenal would be ok by me.

Couldn't agree more. This site is sexy and I love how easy it is to search through the various different opics. Run soo well and overall is the highest quality Chelsea forum on the net. At last next season there is one less trick the ref's can try pulling on us in their cynical attempts to fuck us over. Long overdue.

No shit sherlock. ;-)

He's obviously a crosser tosser as I like to call em lol.
-
Would rather hijack Jovetic from under Arsenal's nose. He's younger and more hungry than Villa. Would have said yes to Villa 3 or 4 years back in a heart beat but now i'd rather we looked else where.

Yea I think he was around Jan, just after Christmas. He must not have been good enough for us.

Iv'e always wondered where the Tornado goes once it has passed through. Does it just keep travelling around the world and when it comes back around it's a year older?

Yes, how could I forget the season Courtois just had with Atheltico. He has been incredible for them and his loan spell has been equally as progressive as Kevin and Lukaku's. The decision on who to bring back for the 12/13 season isn't going to be easy for Mourinho. Leaving Courtois at Athleti for another season is probably the easier of the three seeing as Cech has another big season or two left in him, I think only one more season though. The choice to bring back Kevin should be a given in my opinion and Lukaku has proven that he can cut it in the Prem but this will all depend on the board decide to buy in the summer transfer window. With Cavani looking very likely to join City at the moment and Falcao chasing paper, It will be very interesting to see who our main striker will be next season. Having said that, whoever that striker be I really think Lukaku should be called back to fight for his place. Not only will this keep Lukaku hungry but it will keep the main striker on his toe's too. Everyone is crying out loud for Kevin to be called home after the showcasing of his huge potential in the Bundesliga this season. He is the perfect fit for our squad and would add the obvious depth not only to the holding midfielder role but the wing's also. The squad's depth was exposed this season and De Bruyne was what the team was missing. Like I said though, the choice on who Mourinho will call back all depend's on who the Club decide to buy and offload in the transfer window. If Schurrle and a big name striker comes in and Torres stay's then maybe Lukaku and KDB will be left out on loan for yet another season which I feel would be a major mistake. Chalobah look's excellent but he is not ready for first team football at Chelsea just yet. Another season out on loan in the Prem could benefit his development tenfold.

These voting poll's should allow you to have multiple votes as for me KDB and Lukaku have been equally as good out on loan!

There is a lot of talk about Mourinho's return on Sky Sports News this morning. Even bloody Sam Allardyce was saying, 'Jose seem's very excited to be returning to Chelsea and I'm looking forward to seeing if he can emulate his previous success there'. We all know it's a done deal. Now it's all about what 'stella signing's' he is bringing in with him.

Yea I agree, he need's to learn how to use his left foot more

There was a period under Carlo when I thought Josh could have pushed on and found a regular place on the bench before cementing a spot in the first team but it just didn't work out for him. He was the hot topic in a lot of our debate's but I remember the opportunity that we all hoped for him never really opened up. Since his loan spell's he just hasn't seemed the same player. I hope things work out for Josh because he is an exceptional talent that shouldn't go to waste. Will never forget the game we lost against Newcastle in either the F.A Cup or Carling Cup, I can't remember but Josh came of the bench and was just incredible to watch in the flesh. Was the only game I have ever seen us lose at the Bridge which really pissed me off but I remember leaving thinking at least we have blooded Josh so well.
