  1. Torres is also one of the best paid players in the world, so that's a big problem too. Not many top clubs are in need of a striker at the moment, and those who are couldn't even afford to pay his wages let alone any transfer fees. If we were to try offloading him to clear room for a new striker, the only options I can realistically see is him going on loan to one of the Italian giants and that wouldn't be very wise business from Chelsea's point of view and we might as well keep him as the most expensive bench warmer in the history of football. Not a single one of the options available to us regarding the forwards sound good to me. Torres staying and being first choice is a high-risk, high-reward type of situation (and the risk is very, very high with this one) but buying a new top striker like Cavani would be expensive as hell and Torres would then either have to be let go for next to nothing or sulking on the bench. I'm sure the board are aware of all the options and are weighing the pros and cons of every scenario and soon deciding what the best move is. I honestly don't know the best solution but I have faith on the board and hopefully they are wiser than me.
  2. Agreed 100% but only problem is we're stuck with Nando. No point keeping him if we got Cavani for silly money to lead our attacking line but I don't see us offloading Torres so easily.
  3. https://twitter.com/Mikel12Official Our favourite Nigerian is now on Twitter, account is verified and followed by @chelseafc. Gotta love the self-irony:
  4. Preparing for the Olympics. It's the U23 team, not U21.
  5. Okay. Why is this matter then being discussed in the Eden Hazard thread without even mentioning that you're talking about a different player? Didn't watch the video and you didn't quote whoever posted it so how the fuck was I supposed to know you were talking about Lukaku? And who the fuck are you to be calling me a child?
  6. Since when? How someone can even come up with such comparison is beyond me because they are two very different type of players. How about we don't compare him to anyone and let him just be Eden Hazard, our new number 17?
  7. Thanks for the link mate, didn't know such a game was even on. Good warm-up before the match against Seattle Sounders.
  8. Since when has a starting player for the Brazilian national team been an unknown footballer? Just because you haven't watched enough of the Brazilian league or their national team doesn't make a player unknown or bad.
  9. 4:30 here in Finland as well but I'm still planning to stay up. I don't have work nor school tomorrow so it doesn't matter if I don't sleep well.
  10. Why even go to sleep for only a short time when you could stay awake till kick-off?
  11. He's from Bosnia but I'm sure they hated Nazis too.
  12. An attacking midfielder with even more than 26 assists? But seriously speaking, there's absolutely no way Mata gets benched regularly next season, no matter who we sign.
  13. The homepage looks classy and that new navigation bar is also nice. Forum a little laggy at the moment but doesn't matter because the updates are always welcome and I'm sure the site will be fast again soon enough. When I have some extra money I promise I'm going to donate to the cause but atm I'm a bit short already and won't be able to help just yet.
  14. Marin signing was faster. First rumoured in the morning and signed a couple of hours after. That's the way I like it.
  15. Fixed it for ya. Nene is probably on his way out and if he leaves then Menez can take the place on the right flank and Lavezzi switch to the left like it was on the lineup you posted. They'd be stupid to sell him though because he was by far their best player last season. Their full-backs are still shite and while it may be enough to dominate the Ligue 1 without contest, it is still very much lightweight when it comes to big European matches. Of course they still have money and time to enter the market for a full-back or two and if they do, they have imo a good chance of challenging for the CL title. Their players are mostly top class and with Ancelotti's experience, who knows how far PSG can go. A while back they were still offering something ridiculous like 40/1 for PSG to win the CL and because I consider them to be way better than that I put a cheeky bet on it. They're still outsiders even with a couple of further signings but 40/1 is something they'd normally offer to teams like Valencia. If we don't win the CL, I sure as hell hope PSG win it.
  16. A Champions League winning manager would never agree to be an assistant again so isn't this thread a bit pointless?
  17. So hard to think of an order because almost all of them play in different positions but here's a balanced mixture of attackers, midfielders and defenders: Ronaldo Messi Aguero Özil Mata Pirlo Barzagli Kompany Sergio Ramos Cech
  18. Of course, Emenalo has had and will continue to have a huge influence on choosing the players we go after and credit to him for that, but Gourlay still deserves a shout for making it all happen and not just sit on his arse like he used to.
  19. I believe it's 3:30 am, Thursday morning.
  20. Yeah, he's been great recently. All the new signings, AVB having no pay-off, all the new sponsorship deals etc. Let's all give a big hand to this man:
  21. Relax guys, that's obviously just a load of bullshit. He has only a year left on his contract, and last year when Nasri was in a similar contract situation they sold him for less than that £25m and everyone rated Nasri higher than Walcott. We aren't getting him and if he does leave Arsenal it will most likely be to Liverpool for something like 10-15m. Or £25m plus, because with Liverpool and English players you can never know for sure, just look at Downing.
