Only one year left and that's the problem. Currently we can't offer him enough first team football to keep him happy and there's no way he is renewing his contract if he can't get a game because he knows he'd be a starter for most Premier League clubs. We can't afford to let him go for free next year so if he's not signing an extension, then we really should be looking to sell him in January at the latest but this transfer window would be even better. I'm not saying I want to get rid of him but the board need to do the sensible thing here and solve this thing by the end of next week, one way or the other.

Nice to see that he can already speak English, should help him settle in a bit faster. Not that speaking only Spanish and French would be a problem with our current squad.

Another pic of Cesar in a Chelsea training kit:

I'm so glad we got Azpilicueta instead of Maicon.

No offense but that's probably the worst idea ever. If we want to keep Danny, we give him a long term contract and give him playing time and if we want to gt rid of him, we will sell him to the highest bidder.
-
Why would we loan out a player who only has a year left in his contract? Basically we'd be giving him away for free.
-
Nice, now get Azpilicueta sorted out asap and we're done.
-
Essien should play imo.

Why the plural winning goals? Yesterday was Fernando's first winning goal in the league in his Chelsea career and it was his 48th Premier League match. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long for the next one. Yep, it's ridiculous. Best example is from last season against Sunderland when Torres' bicycle kick hit the post and Lampard tapped it in from the six yard box. Everyone thought it was Torres who scored and the crowd went nuts, but when the announcer told it was Frank's goal the atmosphere soon changed like someone had just died. IMO that's just sad, especially considering what Lampard has done to the club compared to Torres.

Four seasons in and I just won the double.

90 points from the first round and seventh place in the TC league, not a bad start. Captain choice obviously fucked up when I had Hazard as my captain all along and close to the deadline made the brilliant move of switching to Torres who didn't even score half the amount as Eden with his five assists. Also, David Silva not scoring the penalty cost me a lot of points because I'd have got the assist from Tevez as well. Now I had the most expensive man in my team scoring 0 points.
-
They did in the second half when they were leading. No point parking the bus when you're 1-0 down but after they got ahead, they didn't even want to attack. Nothing wrong with that of course, I wouldn't expect them to continue playing like Barcelona when they're 2-1 up against the European Champions.
-
Overall a very mediocre performance but at this point of the season, all that matters are the three points and I'm glad we got that today. Plenty of time to improve the performances later on when all the new players have had time to settle in and everyone is 100% fit.

Spot on. It amazes me how Torres has to be treated like he's a fucking child. Oh no, do not criticize the mighty Torres or he will lose his confidence again (like he ever had it during his time at Chelsea). I was fully behind him for a year and got ridiculously happy every time he scored one of those rare goals and always thought that maybe the old Torres is finally back. Every time it turned out he was nowhere to be seen and in the next match we saw that same old uninterested and lazy Torres again. If someone dares to criticize the lad, it's always because they are 'haters' who never liked Torres and never because he's been nothing but a huge expensive pile of shit since moving to Chelsea. I was a fan of his for the first 12 months of his Chelsea career, but after that I simply lost faith in him. I didn't start to hate him or anything and because he is still a Chelsea player I always get happy to see him do well, but the amount of praise he gets after such a mediocre performance is unbelievable and that's what makes me want to put some facts to the table. It's not a way to undermine him or anything, but it irritates me to see people celebrating him scoring an offside tap-in like we won the Champions League again. Why not support every other Chelsea player like that? If any other one of our players comes up with a usual Torres-like utter shit performance, they will get an unreasonable amount of abuse thrown at them but with Torres it's always someone else's fault and the man simply can't do anything wrong. If everyone were to treat all of our players like they do Torres, I wouldn't have any problem here but I hate double standards.
-
What a surprise, again it's someone else's fault Torres didn't perform (this time Ramires). Sure, he scored a goal but apart from that a shameful performance and a player like that has absolutely no right to be the main striker for the Champions of Europe. Just my two cents.

Loving the support at the Bridge so far.

In case you haven't noticed, the man is fucking exhausted and has been for months. He should be given some time off from football and that's something we now can do when we also have Oscar. If he keeps playing game after game, he will burn out soon and not be in 100% condition when the more important games are around the corner. Nothing against the man, just the opposite. Me and pretty much everyone else just want what's best for him.
-
A decent lineup, although I would've preferred Oscar starting over Mata so Juan would get some rest before Newcastle. Hopefully we'll smash them in the first half and Oscar could come in at half time. Looking forward to seeing Ramires on the wing against their 35-year-old left-back Ian Harte.
-
Holy fuck, that's bad. Oh well, watching EPL is about the only thing that is cheap here and in everything else Finland is probably among the five most expensive countries in the world.
-
How much exactly? More than me, that's for sure because I only pay 49 euros for the whole Premier League season and get five HD channels which broadcast over 90% of all PL games. An amazing deal that one, considering I paid 30 euros a month last season and the coverage was shit.
-
Not entirely true because here I can watch it in HD quality on two or three different channels and I think it's just the English that get the shit options for this one.
-
Ok, fair enough. Maybe it's just that I want to believe it's true and because of that I consider it to be a better source than it actually is. I guess you as a Frenchman know better.
-
Sure, it was known all along that we wanted him (who didn't?) but with all the speculation on which Manchester club he'll end up at, I found the sudden u-turn that he was on his way to Chelsea hard to believe and just disregarded it as another bullshit rumour like the rest of them. Luckily for us, they got it right that time and hopefully they're right this time too.
