Marin returned in September but he didn't get a single start in over two months and only came on as a sub once or twice. His first start for Chelsea was against Leeds under Benitez. Benitez prefers at least one of his wingers to be a hard working player who doesn't do anything fancy. At Liverpool Dirk Kuyt was one of the first names on his teamsheet. Sucks for Marin, but that's just the way it is at the moment.

Di Matteo preferred Bertrand over Marin too, just saying...

Messi confronts Arbeloa in parking lot after Classico
Jype replied to Santiago.'s topic in Football Chat
A couple of years ago I still had a lot of respect for Messi but nowadays the success has made him a cunt and a sore loser. I hate it when the media always describe Ronaldo as the arrogant cunt and Messi as this humble boy from the Barcelona academy but that's hardly the case anymore. In fact Ronaldo has matured a lot in recent years and Messi has become a lot more cuntish. "The man who has never scored against Chelsea", that was a classy addition -
That's nothing new, he was also included in the squad submitted in September.

Liverpool released their backup goalkeeper Doni yesterday and today reports are emerging that the man has a heart condition and nearly died last summer. Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport also reporting that AS Roma knew about this when they sold Doni to Liverpool a couple of years ago but said nothing. That's absolutely disgusting, risking a player's life just to make more money on a transfer.

Arsenal got a great new left-back. Not sure if they can be classified as a big club though.

Just came by this on Twitter:

More like David Luiz, that guy loves a good prank.
-
Good for Lukaku, I guess.

Telegraph are now saying it's Fulham who are after Diame. Chelsea after a midfielder, all along I thought it seemed too good to be true.
-
Diame's release clause triggered by another PL club...

That joke never gets old.

It's hardly about "punishing Rafa" but rather the fact that Chelsea don't want to spend a lot of money on a player who the next manager might not even want in the team and I fully understand the reasoning behind that. However, I agree that someone should have been got to make up the numbers in midfield, be it a loan signing or recalling one of the players we already have loaned out. At this point anything would suffice really, but sadly I can't see anyone coming and we've all predicted it a long time ago.
-
What makes you think that? Aside from Demba Ba a quiet transfer window was expected and no matter how much we all disagree with the decision, I think everyone has already accepted the fact that we're not signing anyone so I don't see a reason for a meltdown. Maybe it's a good thing the board won't allow the waiter to spend any money in January because he will be gone in five months time.

The most boring deadline day ever.

Bamford extended his loan at MK Dons. Yeah that's right, just keep on loaning them all out, it's not like our squad isn't thin enough as it is.

Current contractual status of our players

A lot of deadwood moving on in the summer, saving the club a lot of money on their wages. Need to tie up Chalobah and Kalas on new long term contracts as soon as possible, can't afford to lose these two talented yongsters without even giving them a chance. -
Not the ideal choice imo, especially with Everton's sky high asking price but as a January signing I can't really see anyone better moving either and we are in a desperate need of a midfielder. Wouldn't mind Fellaini being the panic buy of this deadline day, but unless more sources start linking us to him I'm not getting my hopes up. Had Everton gotten Leroy Fer I'm sure they would've been more eager to sell but maybe not now. Their season is going very well and they probably wouldn't have time to buy a replacement, unless they caved in to Twente's demands for Fer of course. Edit: Just seen Everton linked with a £13m move for Alvaro Negredo. Interesting...

Immediately after seeing the lineup I posted that for the first time ever I was seriously doubting if I should even bother watching the game because I already knew how it's going to turn out. Obviously I still watched it, because I'm not a gloryhunter who only supports the team when they're doing well but can't say I didn't predict this. Why can't the cunt just leave already? If he had any balls, he would have handed his resignation weeks ago.
-
For the first time ever I'm seriously doubting whether or not I should even watch a Chelsea match. What the fuck is that lineup about? Torres up front, Bertrand and Oscar on the wings etc. Fuck off Rafa. Of course I'm going to watch it but the sensible thing would be to go straight to bed. Would save me from the anger I'm going to feel after watching the team play like shit for yet another match and have another two or three points dropped against a team fighting for relegation.
-
Leroy Fer's move to Everton has been cancelled after the player failed his medical. Despite that, Everton were still willing to sign him if only Twente lowered the price a little but Twente didn't agree. A shame, I was looking forward to seeing him play in the Premier League.

All this Butland talk makes me doubt Cech's fitness. The club already confirmed in the start of the season that Cech is due to undergo a surgery next summer and that he was constantly in a lot of pain. Now in January he has missed a bunch of games because of injuries and was perhaps rushed back as we had Arsenal coming up and now he seems to be injured again. With the club lining up a January bid for a goalkeeper I can't help but wonder if there's something they're not telling us about Cech's injuries.
-
Some could argue that De Bruyne is already good enough too. And obviously Essien would be a great player to have right now with Ramires and Lampard as our only options in midfield. The Bison may not be the player he was in his prime but he could still do the job better than someone who has been playing two or three games a week for months now.

Gone to Milan. A shame to see such a personality leave the PL. Also, I'm guessing this means Manchester City will now be looking to sign a replacement in the summer which is bad news for us in our chase for Falcao / Cavani / whoever.
