  1. From the Daily Mail. The numbers could off course be bullshit but that still doesn't change my opinion about this situation. In my honest opinion Cole hasn't done enough in these past couple of seasons to deserve any kind of contract with wages even close to what he's currently earning.
  2. Clearly I'm not as happy about this as most of you are. Apparently this new contract will be worth £8m for one year. Hell, that's £150k a week so first he's supposed to be on his way out and now he gets a pay rise to stay? He's definitely not as good as he once was and in my opinion doesn't deserve those wages. At least it's only a one year contract and it gives us more time to either find a replacement or wait and see if Bertrand is ready to step up and be the number one left-back at the club but at this age his wages really should be starting to go down and not up because his contribution to the team is not the same any more.
  3. Of course I have, I've watched Gladbach a little and he's always impressed me. Also, in Football Manager he is a beast of a goalkeeper and I always buy him: Still, I don't think he's quite at the same level as Courtois, who has already won a couple of titles in his career and is the more experienced of the two.
  4. 10 million is a joke, considering he is now hands down the best U21 goalkeeper in the world and he was only an unproven 19-year-old when we bought him for 6mil a couple of years ago. On the last page I was joking about Barca giving Messi in exchange for this guy, but seriously speaking though, we are in a very good position for the negotiations if they indeed do want him. They have some of the best players in the world already and we would be stupid if we just gave them one of our most promising young players who they desperately need for peanuts. Courtois is under contract till 2016 so it will definitely take either an offer out of this world or them giving us one of their hottest prospects in part exchange, Thiago for example. I would very much like to keep him if only the player himself wants to stay and is okay with the plan we have for him. No reasonable amount of money can get us a goalkeeper as good as Courtois when we need to replace Cech in a few years.
  5. @communicate was only talking about the shot stopping part though. De Gea is an extremely agile goalkeeper and he can make wonderful saves but a good keeper is required to do so much more than that, and overall De Gea is very average, at least as far as playing in the Premier League goes. Back to Courtois now. Barca can have him... ...if they give us Messi in exchange.
  6. Hoping that Ivory Coast go all the way, Drogba deserves to win this at least once in his career. Came so close last year...
  7. Arsenal are mad to agree such a deal. Or desperate. Or both... In 2015, which is only two years away, we're going to have this same saga all over again. When his contract expires he's still only 27 years old and at the peak of his career. If he keeps on improving I'm sure clubs will be waiting in line to sign him up and Arsenal will be fucked once again. And as if the contract length wasn't bad enough, they've also given him silly wages. I'd assume Theo's now their best paid player?
  8. What are you talking about, his finishing has been rather shit during his time at Chelsea. At Lille it was much better, but then again you do get a lot more time to make your decision in the French league, just watch how Gervinho used to destroy the opponents there and we all know he can do fuck all in the PL. Obviously he will improve and he's already among our best players but his finishing is one of the last attributes I'd give him praise for.
  9. He's played like this ever since the double winning season under Carlo. His future has only became unclear last season when AVB didn't fancy him anymore and the fact is that he simply isn't that good anymore. He won't all of a sudden start playing better again if he gets a new contract. If that was the case, shouldn't he be playing as well as he possibly can to ensure he gets the best deal from whichever club he decides to join in the summer? Can't imagine the likes of Real Madrid or PSG being too interested if he plays like shit for the rest of the season.
  10. Do people seriously want Cole to stay? He's been absolutely horrible for the past couple of years in most matches. Of course there are occasionally glimpses of the best LB in the world Ashley was only a few years ago, including his heroics in the Champions League last season, but he's become lazy and most of the time he simply doesn't bother showing up anymore. Kind of like Patrice Evra, but without the constant attacking threat.
  11. From Twitter. If this is true, then at least we're looking in the right direction. Like I've already stated in this topic, those two guys are my preferred choices along with Mourinho. It has got to the point where I would take nearly anyone but Benitez, but if we can get one of those three I will be fucking ecstatic.
  12. Yes, and what on earth was he doing there? Not closing down any of the Southampton players, that's for sure. He was on the edge of the box where he couldn't really intercept the cross but couldn't help his teammates defend against Lambert either. Lazy defending, but then again that's nothing new from Cole.
  13. Where the hell was Cole for the first goal too? Hazard did his best to close down Clyne but failed because Cole was nowhere to be seen. And as for Benitez, he could've at least tried something. In my opinion just sitting on his arse doing nothing is worse than actually doing something wrong. Today he used only one substitution and that was after they had already equalized.
  14. Deservedly booed again today, tried so hard to be the hero and ended up fucking up all our attacks.
  15. A very strong lineup, if that doesn't get us three points against a weakened Southampton side I don't know what will. My fantasy team likes this lineup too.
  16. Need to start believing Sky Italia more often it seems. Kinda disappointed he didn't choose Chelsea after all the drama surrounding his future for the past couple of years now but I can't really blame him. On to the next one, who's left? Mourinho the obvious candidate of course, but other than him I can't think of anyone but Jürgen Klopp and if he won't come, then I fear Benitez is staying. Personally I'd also be willing to take the gamble on Diego Simeone but I'm not sure if many agree with me here.
  17. I believe Buonanotte is on the verge of signing for Palermo. Could open a spot in the starting lineup for Lucas...
  18. I don't believe the rumours of him going on loan, especially with Piazon looking to be loaned out as well. Unless we're buying someone new, but that wouldn't really make any sense imo, because Marko is still yet to be given a proper chance. Buying another winger / attacking midfielder is fine by me but we really shouldn't be getting rid of anyone, at least before next summer.
  19. Sorry for the bad joke, being retarded isn't funny.
  20. Loaning Piazon out to a club outside England makes him a non-homegrown player, right? If he gets plenty of playing time at Malaga and develops as a player, it won't matter that much but if he's stuck on the bench this loan would do more harm than good.
  21. It is his real account but obviously that picture is a fake, otherwise the media would be all over it.
  22. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2262198/Chelsea-striker-Demba-Ba-owes-car-cleaner-40.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Who would've thought, the minute a player joins Chelsea the media start writing shit about him. If he'd stayed at Newcastle or gone to another English club I'm sure this non-story would never have been published. Still, Demba seems rather cheap for a lad who makes that much money.
  23. The potential has always been there but to be honest I wasn't expecting him to make such an impact this season, especially given the fact he wasn't even a starter at first. Recently Clarke has trusted him more and that has paid off, I believe Lukaku now has like 7 goals in 8 starts or something. Could no doubt do the job at Chelsea already but I think it's best he stays on loan for at least another year before coming back. I'm sure Lukaku agrees too, and he should have no problem going on loan if we assure him he has a future at the club and the plan is to make him a key player for our team within a few years. If Clarke stays at WBA beyond this season, Romelu should stay there and not go to another club where he will once again have to settle in first. A 20 goal season guaranteed if he's still at West Brom next year.
  24. What a great win, Lampard and Hazard were incredible. Need to find some consistency though, frustrating as hell watching the team beat the shit out of the opponent one week and realize that the quality is definitely there and then lose miserably at home to some second rate team in the next round.
