There's still time for that if he indeed does sign an extension before being loaned back to Atletico. Another year in Madrid to gain vital CL experience and then the 14/15 season on loan at a Premier League club to get used to the PL as well as living in England. After that either an extension to the previous loan or a return to Chelsea with him and Cech both playing their fair shares of games and then in 2016 Courtois should finally take over as the number one keeper. If Thibaut signs the new contract at Chelsea, he pretty much accepts a career plan like this so there shouldn't be a need to rush things unless Cech suffers serious injuries or his form takes a massive dip.

Spanish media reporting that Courtois is set to stay for another year on loan at Atletico Madrid but the deal will only be confirmed once he's signed a contract extension at Chelsea. Would definitely be the ideal scenario here, would allow him to stay there and play in the Champions League but would also be good for us if we got him tied up until 2018. Him staying at Atletico without signing a new contract would be bad because after next season he'd only have two years left in his Chelsea contract and he could easily start making noises about moving elsewhere and there wouldn't be much we could do but an extension would be a sign that both parties are still very much on board with the plan. Hope it's confirmed soon.

As much as I rate Isco, I seriously hope not. De Bruyne is pretty much equal to Isco so why spend 30 million on the Spaniard when we already have KdB in our ranks and recalling him wouldn't cost a dime? If there's still room in the squad after KdB has been recalled, I would much rather get a proper winger in the Di Maria / Sanchez / Schürrle mould than yet another playmaker like Isco. Mata / Hazard / Oscar / De Bruyne / New signing / Moses sounds about right for the three AM positions in our formation. That way everyone would get plenty of playing time but no one would be overplayed like Mata, Oscar and Hazard have been this season. With the Confederations Cup again messing up Mata and Oscar's summer holiday, we simply need to have way more depth for these positions than we have had this season or otherwise our season is going to be over by October. It's a miracle that Mata and Oscar haven't been injured more with the amount of games they've been forced to play this past year and we can't rely on them to play that much next season so getting more depth for these positions has to be a top priority over the summer.

Massive three points, win on Wednesday and it's over and even a draw would almost seal the Champions League qualification. Tottenham fans whining about United playing their second team is almost as hilarious as them last season after Munich. Luiz and Mata obviously deserve massive credit for the win but I'll go with Azpilicueta for Man of the Match.
-
Seems like everyone else is hopping in the Luiz bandwagon now too. I was there already before it became too mainstream.
-
Luckily for us, no Hernandez or De Gea for United. Those two always have great games against us,
-
Lampard - Ramires in midfield against United, really Benitez? Hazard not starting either, could be because of the knock he suffered against Basel?

Look who's back! Where have you been hiding these past few months?

Oh dear, I must have forgotten. Maybe I was drunk and because of that I don't remember it, happens to me way too often. As a matter of fact my ungrateful ass is drunk at the moment too.

Southampton so close to scoring against Spurs.

Story by Rob Beasley, a decent journalist with ties to Chelsea. Someone asked him on twitter who Mourinho wants to sign if not Falcao, and his reply was "Give you FOUR guesses! Ha" so he's implying Lewandowski, right?

That's not how this thing works, I don't wan't any pity votes if I haven't been worthy of a nomination.

I wouldn't know, no one has ever nominated me.

Fixed that for ya.

Good boy, you did something @Dion couldn't.

He basically poured gasoline on the flames by saying he regrets he didn't sign Diego Lopez a year ago. Believe me, he's as good as gone and where he ends up remains the only question.

A win here and Spurs slipping up against Southampton would make my weekend. We were good in both matches against them in the FA Cup, hopefully on Sunday as well. We have the advantage because Man United don't really have a lot to play for this season and we have been in good form recently. Against Arsenal they were horrible last week and back then they still had Mourinho's record of 95 points to break, now they have nothing.

Ferguson: "He said he is loved by one English team and going back is a big attraction for him." Villas-Boas: "‘I am pretty sure the decision has already been taken. It seems that he is happy to return to England and Chelsea are one of the clubs who are looking for a manager and it seems very, very likely that he will end up there." These quotes make me more certain about this than any media report. Only way I can see Mourinho not coming is if we don't finish in the top4 but other than that it's as good as a done deal.

Would vote for the @The Skipper but he's already Member of the Month so it wouldn't really be fair. @milan.cech for me.

31 is definitely not too old and our team could really use some more experienced players to compliment the younger ones. We are talking about a man who has won the European Championship twice and also the World Cup, not to mention all the trophies he has won in his club career. Maybe Xabi isn't as good as he once was but he could still do a good job for two or maybe three years so if the price is right and the manager wants him, I wouldn't say no. Can see this transfer becoming reality if Mourinho arrives, otherwise not. Much like Carvalho to Real Madrid a few years back when Jose took over.
-
Something to think about: if we win the Europa League, Bayern win the Champions League and Mourinho returns, we would once again have a Mourinho versus Guardiola battle in the UEFA Super Cup next season. At the moment that is a lot of 'if' but it could happen, you know.
-
Sure, they could lose but they don't want to. Four points isn't anywhere near enough to throw the match in order to prepare for the Europa League final. They will field their best team and hope for at least a draw.
