I think its a job well done considering how crazy the market is. Kante has to be the signing of the window by a mile!
January is only 4 months away, personally I would still like to add an additional striker, perhaps by Jan Morata will be sick of the Madrid bench! Hopefully Christensen has a great season and develops more which will solve our CB issues for next season.

OMG, if it's not done by 11:00, I am going to commit...the eating of my breakfast. Give it a break mates. Overreaction and pesimism. We are all hoping to see development and with Chelsea it's at 14;00 min. lol. So calm down.
And after checking a few clips and reminding myself what he was at the Arse..One thing is certain, he knows how to pop a pass, when needed and that is something we need and will add to a diferent set of variations for the Manager. Totally worth transfer, reason why, I think we will try to close it as soon as possible.

I'd personally be a bit disappointed if we miss out on Cesc, he's such a quality player and for £26 million we are getting a heck of a deal... i guess we can spend £50 million on Koke but Atleico Madrid say they don't want to sell. He's a cunt but imo we've been crying out for someone like him in our Midfield for years and it's very hard these days to find someone who can control games from deep.

Is there a better #9 in world football currently? Falcao is a better finisher but not better at anything else. Lewandowski is better at link up play but not finishing, heading or work rate. Van Persie doesn't have the work rate, pace or heading skills to compare with this sexy South American guy who resembles Dracula.
I genuinely think despite his awful National Team performances, if we sign him, we are signing the best striker in the world. Have we ever bought a player best in their position before? Or at least their role? Essien comes to mind but I think that's literally it. All our other signings were either prospects when we signed them (Hazard, Drogba, Lampard) or past it (Torres, Shevchenko(?) etc.)
I'm sure most of us would like Lukaku to have the biggest chance at succeeding as possible, but you can't not get excited over this surely.

Exactly, how I feel. Roman will decide as we have seen for 10 years. If he buys him, be it. Should I care much about it ? No, I should not. Will it effect FFP ? The management should know & not I or anyone here.
Will Cavani be worth it ? I believe so. After all, the club must solve the strikers soon. How much longer are we going to see Ferda playing hide & seek ? Even BA, has he done well ? I do not think so.
Is Chelsea capable to win CL, PL now ? No, I do not believe it. Therefore, I say, let Roman buy players, that are needed.

Look again I fully agree with everything you are saying. Jose is the key to an already fantastic, talented squad. Would I prefer 50 million to be spent in other areas? Absolutely. If it were me id snap up Subotic and Xabi Alonso (which I believe would fix all our problems), for 2 thirds of that money. Do we need another striker? Well...yes if Torres leaves and Ba goes on loan. Do we need a 50 million pound striker when we have Lukaku? Probably not. However, we are a rich club, and is is usually the case with rich people, why buy a VW to dive around in when you can have a Ferrari. They both pretty much will do the same job, the one is just more appealing while it does it. That is the reality for us, so hey I say lets just enjoy it while we can.

Whatever is written in the news should not be taken seriously.
Cavani, if he comes to Chelsea, will add the final punch up front.
There is no doubt in my mind. Is he worth all that money ? Roman will decide for us, soon.

I dont understand why there are those who are upset about Chelsea Football Club spending 50 odd million pounds on a player. It is not your money, why do you care?
Everyone wanted Jose, we got Jose, we trust Jose, it is clearly his decision, so let it be.
For the record, I think Cavani is world class and would be very grateful to see him play up front for my beloved Chelsea.

Looks like we're on the same page here, then. I would welcome and support Cavani, but to me the prospect of allowing our £18 million investment in Lukaku to be given a fair go this season is something I am really, really excited about.

Absolutely it makes more sense if Torres leaves, hopefully as part of this deal.
I think that last part of your point is key though. I think we win the league next season whether we get Cavani or not. I think we're a good team with an excellent coach and that we'll be stronger in the areas in which we under-performed simply by virtue of having a coach come in who has a pre-season to work with the squad and is a fantastic tactician (unlike Robbie who quite simply isn't).
Cavani to me is just another short-cut to success though in my opinion. Sticking with someone like Lukaku will be bumpier but I think it establishes a new personality at this club where people are given a chance if they deserve one (and he does) and the other youngsters at this club will see that and repeat that process.
Look, I'm prepared to accept him if he comes in works hard and helps us win stuff, and I fully accept that Lukaku will still get his chances but to me this move runs contrary to what we've been building intelligently for the last two years. In my view we were doing an amazing job and Jose was the final step in that process, but now we're stuttering and panicking and reaching for the most expensive salve in the store.

This club is a business, and as such will run as one. You want long term finincial sustainability, guess what?...selling shirts is part of that. As is growing a fan base who will purchase those shirts among other things. You say you care about this club, but when the club invests in itself to impove the playing staff you have a problem with it? Every season this club spends a lot of money, but it also makes a lot of money...and every year the losses come down. I sometimes just think that there really is no pleasing some people.

I agree with you fully. All of a sudden everyone is an accountant. I say we let the people who just got ua a 300 million pound shirt deal continue doing what they do best. They clearly fully understand FFP a bit better than most on this forum.
Its great to have talent and I see why people would want us to develop the youngsters we have brought in. But at the end of the day, all that matters in football is winning titles. To do that we need balance, youth and experience.

Great post, agree with you!
Now to answer your question: the trend is leaning towards having starting eleven full of 20 year olds who would be such prodigies that we'd have bunch of Messis running around the field in couple of years time. Doesn't matter how the club does in the mean time, main thing is that every youngster who can dribble a football can get his chance. That's what Arsenal are doing and it is working very well for them- renowned for their talent for breeding youngsters to sell on for a hefty profit. Plus there's the fact that FootballManager has made everyone an expert in Financial Fair Play and squad management. A complete honour to be around such tactical maestros.

If Levy doesn't let him leave now then he really is a right c#nt, I understand he has a contract with Spurs, but footballers career is short lived and why should alert deny him the right to achieve as much as he can as a player
