I agree with you. Although I do think Mata is on a fast track of becoming a superstar. But I would prefer us to buy another player in similar calibre to Mata, that could become superstars over next season rather than buying an established one. One signing of the likes of Hazard, Lucas Moura or Hulk - and I would be more than satisfied, not that I expect it or would be disappointed if the club won't do so. Jovetic could also prove to be a player close to superstardom.

Great signing. I am absolutely delighted. This is exactly the kind of signings I prefer the club to do, it reminds me of the signing of Mata. One more high profile winger/inside forward (Hulk/Jovetic) and our team looks a million times better. Then a deep lying playmaker (Moutinho?) and I will cry, truly. For those who think this signing prevents the club from buying a player like Hazard or Hulk are mistaken, it's more likely it prevents Willian's supposed signing.

I love Higuaín. But for god's sakes let's get adequate midfielders and wingers before we buy another striker who lives of service. And if we fail to do so, then at least let's buy a forward who can make magic on his own.

Kalou's inability to do anything other than run like a headless chicken is far more concerning. Mata's inability with his right foot is annoying at times, but he makes up for it with everything else.

He has done very well so far. But for some reason I just don't trust him for the job. He seems to be friendly and I think we couldn't have picked a better caretaker manager at this time. But long-term? He has yet to convince me.

There is probably no other such complete midfielder, Modric with Mata and Hazard would be orgasmic. But the thing is he isn't available, we tried too many times last summer and I would hate for the club to end up with another Meireles next summer. I would like for us to go for a more Mata-ish signing. Someone relatively known but not yet established on the big screen with all his career in front of him. These are just off the top of my head: Ganso, Eriksen, Ilkay Gundogan. I'm not saying these players are better than Modric, not at all, but they have potential to become that. I'm also not saying any of those players are available, everyone knows about when we rejected Eriksen and Dortmund's eager to keep their young players. But I want the club to look at these kind of players, young, hungry and capable of magic.

No, we should leave Modric the fuck alone. I have nothing against Modric himself, but we shouldn't try to do business with Tottenham again. Besides, Modric is not worth more than 40 million. There are many interesting creative midfielders available for less money that we should go for. Hazard is also more interesting than Lavezzi in my opinion, he has yet to blossom. I also think we should keep Yossi.
