I don't think we lack leadership like before, it just appears that way because of the overhaul. Players still need to blend and adapt. We have a whole new core and we need to get to know the players personalities before making such statements. As for who could potentially become our future captain I think it's too soon to say, although Cahill at the moment looks like the best candidate for me personally.

This post is ridiculous, Rooney no more than a bench-warmer? Rooney is pure class and would get in every single team in the world bar maybe Barcelona. He's not an out and out striker but yet he managed to score 37 goals last season, 27 in the league (in 32 games, Persie scored 30 goals in 37 games), outscoring Benzema, Higuain, Drogba, Villa and Aguero (5 of 8 from your list of WC strikers). And yet scoring goals isn't even his best trait.

Doubt that. Surely he's much better than Borini who's their only striker at the moment. Pretty sure he would have a guaranteed spot up front.

How spoiled are we Chelsea fans? If anyone would've told me before the summer that we would sign Marin, Hazard and Oscar in this window I would've been exuberant. The board has done more than enough, but are still going to continue to spend. Even if we wouldn't sign another player and disregard the RB problem, I would still be very happy with the summer dealings.

Well if a good defense would be measured in the quickness of the players, we would have nothing but runners there. Fortunately, speed is not even close to the most important attributes of a defender. On topic, I'm getting really excited about Oscar for one simple reason, all of you. I've only seen a compilation of his touches from the olympics, but judging from the comments on here, we have a real gem in our hands. Don't really get why everyone is getting on and on about how much money we can make by selling players to Spain, we have never been a selling club, and players generally don't seem to want to leave Chelsea if they get playing time. Azpi is my number. 1 choice for a right back, and for the relatively low money being tossed around the media, he would be a perfect signing for us in my opinion. Hope we get him.

Also, their problem has been that all of their best players have left when they reached their peak. Nasri, Fabregas, Adebayor, Toure (even Glichy and Flamini to some extent) and now Persie. I'm sure their team would be a lot, lot stronger if those players would've stayed. Fortunately we have never had this problem and probably never will while we have mr. Abramovich.

I actually think he's going to United. Really hope not, would absolutely love if the club tried to nick him under United's nose. No other player I want more for the right wing than him.

I'm not really worried about who of Mata and Hazard plays CAM. Both of them can excel in both positions and can interchange during games. And yes, Mata was really that good when he played LW mate, he was still by far our best player. If Marin is comfortable at RW I would love to see a combination of Mata - Hazard - Marin. Marin wouldn't be restricted to have no other option than cutting in, Mata providing those perfect passes and Hazard simply destroying the other team anywhere on the field, drifting around the oppositions half.

Not only has Hulk not even signed yet, but he is a RW and therefor has no connection to wether Mata is in the first team or not. Hazard and Mata can easily play together in the LW and CAM positions. Mata's position last season under Di Matteo is occupied by Oscar in your mock up. Are you honestly disregarding our best player for him. I'm not really sure wether you're trolling or not.

Being small has nothing to do with strength. Hazard has pretty good strength and doesn't get pushed off the ball like Mata. Another example is Aguero, he's only 172 but is very strong. Unless you are talking about aerial threat, and if that's the case, then Hulk wouldn't solve that either.

25M euros, which is around 20M pounds. Reasonable fee. Everyone complains that we never buy players and make them superstars ala Tottenham with Modric. Then when the club is on the verge of purchasing a great talent who surely fits the bill, people still find something to complain about. CM or RW, this kid has got serious potential. Let's not miss out on him and then complain when the club wants to buy him from a club like Inter for 50M after 4 years.
