  1. 4-2-3-1 would be very interesting. But I am concerned as who is suppose to play on the right wing. I'm not sure Sturridge could cope with playing right next to Lampard and not in a semi forward role. I am howewer hoping he will start and prove me wrong. Hoping for this: -----------------Cech------------- Bosingwa - Luiz - Alex - Cole --------Meireles - Romeu------ ---Sturridge-Lampard-Mata-- ---------------Torres-------------
  2. Does anyone else think that Luiz's criticism is too harsh? I wasn't watching him closely vs. Liverpool but I sure as hell don't remember him being as bad in that game as I've been hearing. I just thought he did okay. Some are even saying that he is shitting in his pants and that he can't defend and will never be a good defender. I think it's rubbish, think he will be a great player.
  3. Alright, we've had a bad run. A very bad run. Back to back losses at SB is something we are not used to, or something we accept. The high line defence isn't working, our strikers are in poor form, we have no creativity in our squad if Mata isn't playing. There is talk about sacking AVB. Get a grip, honestly. I'm pretty new to this forum, although I've been following it for a while. But reading some of the comment make me question your tolerance towards the club. Everyone says that Roman is too quick to sack his managers, but still many of the fans are questioning his choice in Villas Boas and are saying he isn't the right guy to lead this team. He was brought for a reason, everyone agreed a transition was needed but still most of you demand that he leaves his tactics 12 games in the league. You wanted attacking football, you got attacking football. But after a few defeats most of you start questioning every detail of the attack-minded tactic. We shouldn't be demanding changes so early on, we knew this would be a tough season, man up and take it as it is. I hate losing to Liverpool, but I accept it since I know that we are trying new things. Have some patience, we still are Chelsea and I firmly believe that AVB will show us why he was brought here. Be it now or next year.
  4. I think we need to take a breather. We lost but it's like everyone thinks that the season is over. Liverpool are always stronger against big teams, and if you look at the statistics it's not like they overplayed us. I agree that the team selection was a bit bizare but we don't know what happens behind the curtains, for instance, Sturridge was doubtful before the game if I'm not mistaken. Things will come around eventually and I hope that I'm not the only one that still believes that AVB is still the man we want, I fully trust him despite everything that has been going on. Cheer up fellow Chelsea fans, this is not the end.
  5. I found it somewhere here on this forum, but I had no idea someone on here made it! So I'm sorry for using it without letting you know, but I do like it. And thanks. In that case let's hope he bites someone (again) and get's a red card. A win-win situation!
  6. He can get a ban, although I doubt he would receive it before the game on sunday. But I don't have a lot of knowledge about these types of situations.
  7. Suarez charged by the FA. Let's pray this makes him lack a little focus in the game! http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/NewsAndFeatures/2011/suarez-161111
  8. Hoping for a back 4 of Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry and Cole. Alex simply can't cope with the pace of Suarez. If we shut Suarez down we shut the whole Liverpool team down, in my opinion he is a fantastic player who holds this otherwise medium Liverpool team amongst the better teams in the league. Ramires is a must with his energy in the midfield. I disagree, think playing Meireles in the DM will open up too much space between the midfield and the defence. I really do like Meireles as a player but for this game I think Mikel is a better option, although I would love to see Romeu in the starting line. With that said this is how I would like too see vs. Liverpool Cech Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole Romeu Ramires - Lampard Sturridge - Torres - Juan Mata
  9. Very surprising stats between Cole and Bosingwa. They're so surprising I'm wondering if you accidentally swapped names? If not, then I think I need to take a closer look to Bosingwa's performances. But again, thank you very much for these stats. They are very interesting and yes, continue these blogs please!
  10. I think a back 4 of Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole is by far our best defence. Alex is good, but sadly he just doesn't have the pace for the high line defence. Playing Ivanovic in the RB (and imo he is the best RB in the league) would take the pressure of Luiz' forward runs since he is much more capable of dropping down than Bosingwa, personally I think these 4 would make a really great defence for Chelsea.
  11. Easy on the Torres criticism, he wasn't spectacular, but neither was Sturridge, or Malouda for that matter. That chance wasn't even a clear cut one, maybe he should have used his head but it wasn't a terrible attempt. I think some Chelsea fans need to stop thinking about Torres in this game and focus on the three very important points (haven't read all the posts so maybe someone has said this already).
  12. I think you are forgetting one future player, Josh McEachran.
  13. Betting on a 3-1 win, can't see us keeping a clean sheet. None the less I am expecting a comfortable win with Torres having a breakthrough (maybe hoping more for a Torres breakthrough than expecting).
  14. Thanks for the stats. Really helps with monitoring the players. And wow Oriol Romeu, his passing stats are astonishing, he has really impressed me in the few games he has played, think we have a real gem if we manage to keep him. I like how this underlines the fact that we pass alot more then in recent years, despite all the criticism Villas-Boas has had in this forum I firmly believe that he is the one that will take our club to further glory, I have massive faith in the young Portuguese.
  15. Bosingwa is available for this match. Although I would prefer Ivanovic. But since that's highly unlikely this is my guess on the team sheet: -------------------- Petr Cech ---------------------- Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Ashley Cole ----------------------- Mikel ------------------------ ---------- Ramires -------- Lampard ----------- Sturridge --------- Torres ------------ Mata I have a lot of faith in Chelsea in this game, hoping for a 3-1 win.
  16. Lampard was brilliant. Although Cole and Meireles impressed me as well, my vote goes to Lampard.
  17. Mikel or Romeu (for now) McEachran or Ramires (for now) Sturridge or Lukaku Drogba or Torres Ivanović or Bosingwa Mata or Malouda Turnbull or Hilario Alex or Luiz Bertrand or van Aanholt Lampard or Meireles
  18. I really don't get it. Referees are doing their job, and if they do it poorly of course they should be critizised. I have never understood why refs are so holy. They get PAID for doing this job.
  19. Lampard deserves it. But I'm betting on Ramires.
  20. Thank you Santiago, I've been following this forum for quite a while now but never created an account for some reason. I would make a comment about Chris Foy but I think all my feelings have already been described by other members. He was ridiculous. And don't worry, I'll give Heiðar (Helguson) a good slap when he returns to Iceland in the future.
  21. Does anyone have a link to a video of the post match interview by Andre?
