  1. Is this a joke? Are they being serious? Who scouts for FM? Many players are overskilled there, and many are underskilled... this can't be true
  2. converting back to diamond eh? with Lampard in the Makelele role that's.... peculiar
  3. And I get no credit http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/10423-lets-all-laugh-at-arsanal/page__view__findpost__p__257436
  4. What a waste it would be using Drogba as a winger, how desperate must we be. His full ability comes out as a target man or a free-roaming forward. I would rather have Benayoun, Ramires or even Bosingwa playing as pure wingers. But as it stands, I can't see that happening. I'm pretty sure our main wide players will be Malouda on the left and Sturridge on the right if we don't sign anyone. I'm absolutely sure that AVB knows the need for pure wingers, but I have a feeling there's more to it as why transfers aren't happening at the moment than AVB being simply too optimistic... he was and is too good of a scout to be so blind. That's why he threw Sturridge on the right ahead of Anelka and Kalou, he'd rather convert a promising striker into a winger than play either of them there. He's probably been told by the board that negotiations aren't going smoothly, or that there are financial obstacles (perhaps Kalou and/or Anelka are threatening to pull a 'Bogarde' on us, we don't know).
  5. didn't vote or have a say in this poll, because I am still living in to this forum and don't have an opinion of many members, but zolayes has caught my eye a few times as a decent poster... congrats, I guess you deserve it if majority thinks so
  6. quoting the king's song here: "If they say why, why? Tell 'em that it's human nature" And that is the nature of many humans nowadays, sadly.
  7. First death has been confirmed... sigh
  8. http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2011/08/08/2610955/portos-radamel-falcao-agrees-personal-terms-with-atletico-madrid- The Colombian ace has allegedly said yes to a move to the Spanish capital club, who must now convince the player's employers to part company with the striker. Porto striker Radamel Falcao has agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid, news daily AS claims.
  9. Something similar happened in Estonia a couple of years ago, low-life russians started rioting in the streets... and it was the same - thugs smelling the opportunity to rob and smash things. At first it was a protest, but once somebody provokes the police, all hell breaks loose and then gangbangers come out too.... low life scum. One person died, got stabbed to death... and check this - the organizers were caught and were brought in court, but they were found not guilty because of lack of evidence or some shit and even got paid compensation in the end.. yet everybody knows they were the organizers. Our court system sucks balls. I hope you guys can restore order sooner rather than later, and bring people responsible for it to justice.
  10. yes there is, it's called Riots in Tottenham, and all over London
  11. Not a big fan of his and I'm 99% sure we aren't even looking at him
  12. I'm not from England, so sorry... but is it all happening in London?
  13. Isn't Rooney best as a striker who has somebody playing behind him? Perhaps that's what they want, to be able to use Rooney as a pure striker
  14. of course... and by technically I don't mean showboat dribbling, but his touch, shooting technique, ball control etc. For his build, he has extraordinary technique.
  15. A different striker. Lukaku is already Drogba on steroids in terms of physics. Again, I see no basis why people compare him to Kalou/C.Cole/Heskey... Kalou just doesn't have it, whilst Lukaku definitely has the passion to make things happen and Drogba is his idol. I can't even see Drogba mentoring Kalou anymore, if anybody, it should be Malouda. Lukaku doesn't strike me as a sloucher/slacker type.
  16. You can't really compare Kalou and Lukaku now can you Drogs and Kalou don't even play the same position, absolutely different players. And there is not much wrong with Kalou's technique, he just doesn't seem to have the intelligence to use it wisely... That's why he is inconsistent, some days work out for him, some days the opposition defenders are just worse, most of the times he just makes wrong decisions.
  17. Actually it's a relief that we're not considered the favourites anymore... takes some pressure off It's always the hardest to defend the title and cope with expectations. With a new boss and new managing staff, we will have the element of surprise, hopefully he's more of a tinkerman than Ancelotti was (I have mad respect for Carlo, but in just 2 years he was getting too predictable). And it's only a plus that Di Matteo is his assistant, as he already has premier league experience under his belt, as does Holland... and of course AVB himself, when he was working for Mourinho back in the days. Remember, Villas-Boas used to be our opposition scout, he's no stranger to EPL and some of the teams. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/crucial-role-of-boy-scout-who-is-mourinhos-eyes-and-ears-552798.html "My work enables Jose to know exactly when a player from the opposition team is likely to be at his best or his weakest. I will travel to training grounds, often incognito, and then look at our opponents' mental and physical state before drawing my conclusions and presenting a full dossier to Jose." Mourinho got all the praise, but in reality it was Team Mourinho, including Villas-Boas, who were so successful... and I believe he was the main man who complemented his team. I'm trying not to get too excited, but I can't help myself
  18. With Drogba mentoring him, and looking at how Drogba plays, I'm sure Lukaku won't be slacking. If he succeeds, then I can see him as our future captain... the hard work has just begun for him.
  19. A top player already, I definitely want him in our team in the future... But I agree, it's too early now for him, the German league is the perfect place for him to develop for a few more years. The problem is his price will be too high by then if he manages to avoid trouble, but hopefully he will be worth it. Maybe we won't need him if McEachran rises... but they are different players, Götze is more technical and runs more, while McEachran is more subtle and scans for a killer pass.
  20. quite possibly chelsea's greatest player ever, i wouldn't blame romeu if he was a fan
  21. I'd prefer him to come on as a sub against a lower tier team in League Cup...
