You can hardly blame him though, can you Arsenal never looked like winning anything, he probably got a taste of success by winning the EC and WC with the Barca squad and never looked back on the dry ol' gooners who flopped miserably even in their own competition this summer and sign third league players.

Yes, but his crossing ability holds him back by a mile... it is often what separates a good full-back from excellent full-backs. Having an attacking full-back who can't deliver a cross is pretty much useless in attacking sense.

At least against Norwich I hope McEachran gets plenty of time, at least 70 minutes Ramires, McEachran and Mikel midfield would be exciting, with Torres flanked by Benayoun and Anelka/Malouda.

I hope injuries on Etherington and Delap are not bad, so they can continue grinding other teams with their main weapon.

Luck and luck are 2 different things... One type of luck is in lottery, the other type of luck is when you make it happen. Many players shoot in congested penalty areas hoping for a lucky deflection, especially in set pieces... and often it works. You can't have luck if you don't try. So yeah, they had it, but it wouldn't have happened if Young hadn't tried to do anything.

He probably wants an early goal in the season to put off pressure... if he doesn't have one in a while, then he could lose it again I'm afraid... hopefully not and he will score. He can smell that first 4 games are perfect to do that

Lampard played smart, his delivery was poor, but he had the right things in his mind. I liked that he played directly upfield when having drawn opposition on them... it was clearly AVB's instruction to provoke the opposition and then play a direct ball up front once they have more room (like he said in his interview about playing against ultra-low block, which Stoke were). In last season we would have passed it back and played ourselves into stale position until the only option was to hoof one long. Unfortunately we didn't do that enough and Lamps seemed the be the only one who at least tried (in 1st half).

Why are you putting Piazon in the mix? He might lift the reserves or the U18 squad, but no way is he going to be a first team player at just 18 and not having played a single game for Sao Paulo. I think he's hardly going to influence our title bid.

It was not bad at all, there were positives in the game as well as negatives... you learn from both of those and develop further. I'm watching WBA - Man Utd. now and I can't wait to see our players getting so much space which they never got at Britannia.

This game will be much different than against Stoke, we'll probably get more room and more goals. Hopefully by that game we'll have new winger(s).

What a hard game it was, one of the toughest away games in the league... In the second half Stoke were playing for the 0-0 draw, and they got it.. disappointed that we had no real antidote to their parked bus, but few teams have. At least we got a point.

About time Kalou came off.. now we have 3 strikers on field, 2 playing as "wingers"... this team is screaming for wide men!
