It's called having fluidity. Our recent problems have been that we have been too rigid in our formations, opposition knew exactly where our players were and could man mark them out of the game. Players didn't fancy drifting into space, except for Anelka, but he was not a playmaker. 2 seasons ago we had no players who could break away from their position and be effective, last season we had Mata and it instantly paid off, but he got tired from carrying all the load. Now we will have Oscar, who is even better in that respect because he can literally play everywhere. He is not man markable and that's a good thing. We can start out as 4-2-3-1, but with creative and intelligent players you can have as much fluidity as you want. You can change to 4-3-3 or even 4-4-2 if needed, instead of being predictable all the time. 4-2-3-1 is just a variation of 4-3-3, they are not that different and there will be multiple times in games where the formation will resemble the old 4-3-3. But this doesn't concern Moses, so I will drop it here.
