Some of the young players we have would be better just to throw in, the likes of De Bruyne especially considering hes well not an established international but hes getting regular games for Belgium, as Lukaku has done for a few years now too. I'd like to have seen Rafa take a gamble with De Bruyne and recall him, possibly the same with Romelu but I suppose, even if he had suggested it he would probably have been told no haha.

Statistically I seen hes made the most interceptions in the PL right now or is it Europe. Some crazy stat like hes made 100 and something interceptions this season. What I've seen, I've liked. In general I've liked how Southampton have approached games this year under both managers they've had. Could be a gamble though but I'd take him as back up to Mikel right now tbh especially since Romeu doesn't look great in the 4-2-3-1. Hes benefiting from playing next to Jack Cork in some games as it gives him a lot more freedom to get forward and get to the box. He'd be an interesting buy for sure but are the board/scouts at this club really going to look at him? Probably not.

We were pressed, nobody was calm or wanted to be brave/bold today. The fact that Rafa decided to put on Yossi instead of Demba too, just whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat the fuck man.

Just play the loanees, rest the guys who have played like 70 games this season.

Meh I wont argue with that, was just going to pots like all 3005300 of Del Pieros goals vs Real Madrid. Few beauties there. Anyway remember this... and this and this and this and this trying to find a video of Didier's freekick against Arsenal but can't

Indeed. I remember he scored one quite recently vs Newcastle Jets (was put on twitter by some goals page). Also one against Real Madrid in 08 that was a peach too. 1:50 something in.Can we not just make this a 'great goals' thread?

He still has time, its just a matter of when does he move? This summer, next year? 3 years time? Hes got to make the jump before its too late or he'll just be known as that kid who ripped up the Dutch division but never had a crack anywhere else.
-
Hes not that good, hes been overhyped for years. He has certain qualities but he isn't amazing. Hes also a #10 not a #8 so hes a no no basically. Anyway Eriksen should of moved a year ago to a more competitive league, the Dutch league is a good league to develop talent but it can only take players so far in all honestly especially a kid billed with the talent and ability he is meant to have. I mean look at Suarez, he did well in Holland, scored over 100 goals and eventually moved to Liverpool, if he stayed in Holland he'd be able to play really average and probably still score for fun. He needs to play in a more competitive team and league to push himself to the best of his abilities. I don't think hes as great as he was made out to be a few years ago and I hope we don't get him as we have 4 better AM options; Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne.
-
Cant afford to lose, need to get more points on the board and open up a big gap between ourselves and Spurs/Arsenal/Everton to get third place guaranteed. If we beat Soton we go 4 points clear of Spurs which is a start but we still need to build on it and then beat Sunderland the week after.

Probably going to leave Brazil in the summer, according to Internacionals president.

well this is interesting. continue please or just take a look at the posts you guys have put up and just agree to disagree? everyone has an opinion. Anyway on depression and footballers in general, I don't know if anyone remembers the thread I started about a young Swede who played for Inter Milans youth teams and how he suffered with depression, its more common in sport than you'd think actually, you wouldn't think some athletes could be depressed (well not that they are immune to being depressed but you know what I mean) due to the fact they live an amazing life in regular folks eyes (doing what they have probably always wanted to do, big money etc) but still its a very sensitive matter. I think as years go on clubs should be able to help players deal with it better than what they do now, in fact not just football players I think the help for people suffering from depression will increase due to the fact its seen as a more high profile illness compared to what it was 15-25 years ago.

I was reading a few pages back and a few people were saying Mourinho didn't bring success to Chelsea it was all the money bla bla bla. Bullshit. Buying players is only half the job, you've got to unite them, get them hungry for success and motivate them to make them want to win which by the way we did win the PL in 2004-05 was incredible work by Jose. He took players who were 'good' but not world class and helped turning them into better and some of them world class players. The likes of JT, Lampard, Drogba, Cech, Carvalho, Robben, Joe Cole etc. I really dislike seeing shit about how we shouldn't get Jose because he is a shit manager when he isn't, give any other reason, because hes not a shit coach......... at Porto, at Inter, at Chelsea and even at Madrid he has got his players wanting to run through walls for him, currently hes the best motivator and coach in world football. This year has been bad for him yes but still, he beat 'the best team in the world' to the Liga a season before in a record breaking way. All teams have bad phases, we seem to have a bad phase every fucking year or two but still.

Seen we are linked with him, even though its only on caught offside. Apparently we will offer €25 million in the summer, probably a fake rumor that's started due to his impressive CL record but yeah. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/03/23/chelsea-prepare-21m-bid-for-galatasaray-forward-burak-yilmaz/

Does this mean Ivanovic is going to be a CB from now on? JT or Cahill a mere squad player? Azpi is first choice RB in my eyes. Clyne will be on the bench if we sign him. So either Cahill or JT will probably not get as many games as you'd have thought. Clyne is a good solid RB though, only 21 or 22, has big potential. Surprised he ended up at Southampton and not Man United like what was said last summer. Would be happy with him especially for £7.5 million.

Just did some checks, that Rui Sa Lemos bloke is a real coach. Unsure whether that was him on twitter or not but hes a real coach. http://youthtoprosoccer.com/2013/01/24/guest-session-by-rui-sa-lemos-fc-porto-academy-speed-of-play/ http://www.slideshare.net/RSL Hope its true, I wouldn't be surprised if Jorge Nuno Pinto Da Costa has a say on Mourinho's future soon too tbh, he had a lot to say about AVB when he was at Chelsea and after he got sacked.
-
Rui Sa Lemos (youth coach at Porto) has announced on twitter that Mourinho is coming back here next season he stated he's not guessing, hes 'giving' the news... beaten to it........ some quick guys on here tonight....
-
He had great potential but as was mentioned, he seemed to get arrogant and also slightly lazyish. He was linked with Barcelona a few years ago but hasn't really kicked on since tbh. Varane has over taken him as the best under 23 center half. Also I think with PSG signing Alex and Thiago Silva it also hasn't helped him much. If we are too sign a center back we need a 25-28 year old player who can step in right now like Garay (who was linked with us, is a good center back who has improved since being at Real Madrid at Benfica, even though United have apparently agreed a 17m deal) and play at a very high level already unlike Zouma, who as talented as he is, isn't what we need at this moment as he still needs work. Also on the rumors we are eyeing up Forster as a quality back up to Cech, I'd happily accept if we get him, hes miles better than Blackman, Hilario and Turnbull. Would he be happy to play as a number 2? Who knows but he'd be a good addition imo. Aren't Hilario and Turnbull's contracts also up in the summer? Probably why we are looking at him in fact, he'd also take up Turnbull's home grown place if he was released.
-
Why don't we first agree a deal for a new manager and let him pick a striker to sign? Say we appoint someone after we agree a deal for Falcao, which who knows we probably will end up doing, then hes forced to play Falcao basically as hes the latest big name and big price tag signing.
-
Apparently West Ham have agreed a deal for him.
-
Hes not that slow, hes not one of incredible speed but hes certainly not slow.
-
Keep seeing Neymar would be useful as he could provide width on the right. Bullshit. Hes an inverted forward who comes in off the left. If we want a young talented player capable of stretching teams, look no further than Columbia's alternative to Cristano Ronaldo: James Rodriguez, what a player he could be. Naturally left footed capable of playing on the left, right and as a number 10 too. Would cost 25-30 million but still a cheaper alternative to Neymar.
-
We'll probably scrape this, Soton will press us as early and high as possible like they did vs Man City, Liverpool and Man United.... and as we know, we play quite bad when we are pressed...... Expect Mata to play, if not Oscar in the middle with Hazard and Moses flanking him.
-
As stated above, his poor pass gave the ball away for Balotelli's screamer. Still Brazil haven't been as good in the second half tbh, Italy look classy.
-
Exactly, its only an image of himself hes signing.....
