stole my joke :( well anyway here it is Now that Pope Benedict has stepped down from his Devine position in the Catholic order, bookies have tipped him 2/1 as the next Chelsea manager
-
Roman wants rid of the older players to get the average age of the squad down. Hence why Alex, Anelka, Drogba, possibly Lampard, Ballack, Cole etc were let go.
-
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooh whenever I've seen Son play hes actually looked good, prefer him uptop to Floppes
-
Rmpr..... Rafa says Anyway must win. Recall Malouda, start Marin and give Mata an hour supposing he didn't start vs Wigan. Torres upfront or Feruz if Rafas bold enough which I doubt.
-
you go away

Take this with a pinch of salt as it is the mirror reporting it but they posted an article saying we still want Willian and if we fail to sign him we are in pole position for Heung-Min Son, 20 year old striker who plays for Hamburg. Hes scored 9 goals in 20 apperances this year, a full international and can play on the wings as well as upfront. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-havent-given-up-hope-1647769 Bottom of the report
-
Didn't really class him as talented when he was first signed but I watched him in the AFCON and he was immense. Good CB with great positioning, decision making and tackling. Very composed when hes distributing the ball out from the back. Seems likely that he could go on loan to a PL club next year, looks ready for it physically and after such performances in the AFCON I wouldn't be surprised.

We don't need a quality winger because imo Moses and KDB make good options out wide. Also Hazard on the left is right now his best position tbh due to his sheer pace. We need to find someone who can play Matas role when hes not in the team to the same effect. Oscar hasn't shown that at all, hes a slightly different kind of player. He keeps the game going, dropping deep to get the ball and passing it on rather than taking the ball and looking for that killer pass like Mata does so often. Isco is much more similar to Mata in my eyes.
-
Signing Isco wouldn't be a waste, he'd be a direct substition for Mata who is knackered from playing 90 mins nearly every game, sometimes 180 minutes a week. Marin is no where near good enough to be a rotation option for Mata. Hence why we apparently got first dibs on Isco... we are so short on MF players Benayoun is getting minutes... if we start with say Moses - Mata - Hazard as the three and sign Isco we'll have Isco who is a AM, Oscar who can play both CM/AM and KDB who can play CM,AM,RM,LM as sub options. Means we might actually stop playing Bertrand as a left winger too with such options.

I actually seen Giroud at Montpellier (season when they won the league and he scored 30 goals or whatever it was) and thought he was a good striker tbh, could have been useful upfront for us as hes a decent finisher, makes good runs and is really good at holding the ball up. Podolski is also a good player too, this reflects in his international record with Germany and hes only 27-28. Over 100 caps and at least 40 goals. Hes better with the NT than club but still he could have been good for United tbh different sort of winger to what they have. Don't like AOC though, even though hes apparently a Chelsea fan, extremely overrated. Got a Euros place after 16 games last season somehow.... despite having 2 stand out games or something....

Players You're Gutted We Never Signed
OneMoSalah replied to The only place to be's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Tevez, I heard we were close to signing him before City got him. -
Thats not true. Giroud rejected us to go there. Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected United, Liverpool, City and ourselves to go there. Podolski rejected Manchester United and Anzhi to go there. Jovetic will go where he will get the most playing time and since Arsenal are short on strikers (as are we) he will see a big opportunity to get games regularly.
-
Problem is Jovetic is quite attainable as he is allowed to leave this season as the Fiorentina chairman promised him when we were credited with making a bid a while ago. So he is pretty attainable this summer...
-
Apparently Arsenal have made him their number 1 transfer target in the summer ahead of David Villa. We shouldn't give them a chance to sign him at all. Not seen as much of him this year but I've seen enough from last year to know his quality
-
Surely if hes decent enough, 5 million for someone dubbed the new Neymar can't be a bad thing. Could turn into a gamble like with Thorgan Hazard but young Thorgan is actually playing pretty well if I remember correctly.

Yep probably.

Just me or is this one of most successful loan moves under Roman?
-
Thats the only problem. He'd be immense here though. No doubt about it

Cannot believe there is no thread for Marco Reus.... I think he is exactly what we need down the right, hes not an attacking midfielder, his pace is crazy, every time I've seen him play hes constantly a threat especially since Dortmund play on the counter a lot. Hes similar to Moses; very direct, can play both flanks/upfront, tracks back a lot. He scored a goal vs Leverkusen at the weekend which was his 8th Bundesliga goal of the season. He also has got 8 assists so far too. He has great finishing in general, from long or short. Crossing is also quite good along with his ability to pick his team mates out when they are in better positions with through balls. Only problem is Dortmund look set for a top 3 finish at least so he might not want to come here depending on where we finish and they finish. But I reckon we could tempt them with a bid of €25-30 million tbh. Still I hope we can bid for him, he'd give us a great option down the right/left or upfront, hes one of the best players in the Bundesliga by a mile. Also worth taking a look at Patrick Hermann, good talented player in the Bundesliga, only 22 as well. Maybe needs a bit more time before considering him though. Reus looks ready for the PL, incredible player. Oh yeah we were apparently linked with him in 2011 or 2012 before he agreed a deal back to Dortmund, as were Arsenal. Maybe we could even use Marin as a sweetner in the deal?

Bale is one of the least technical players out. Hes all pace, strength and power. I'd like him to play for us yes him and Moses out wide with Ba upfront would absolutely smash teams.
-
Courtois will replace Cech in 2014-15 season I feel after a loan at a PL team. Maybe Everton would be good for him tbh? Isn't Howard not like 35? He looks it anyway.
-
I am now too but still it seems more realistic he will stay than we will get any of thsoe other coaches except Jose/Hiddink.

No what you surely mean is, its Roman half of them won't be appointed. Unless they win 4 trophies in one season like AVB... including a European one. Most managers Romans hired either has great reputation world wide/in Europe.
