  1. To be perfectly honest, you can't sack a technical director when its the manager who lost/upset the majority of the dressing room (which seems to be a recurring thing with him hence why hes never lasted more than 3 years at any club and likely won't). Also how can anybody question Roman's feeling for the club either? People seem to forget we hadn't won a league title since 1955 before 2005. Sure we'd won European trophies and won FA cups, Charity Shields etc but the club is in the place it is right now as a global brand solely because of one mans ambition and that man is Roman Abramovich. Since he took over we have been the most successful English team in terms of winning trophies despite all the sackings and bumps along the way. Sure things have gone tits up to for people to question a man who's commitment has been shown in an investment of £1 billion or more is ridiculous. Just wait and see as well if Mourinho becomes Manchester United manager, it will show how much he "loves" Chelsea wont it?
  2. Pity it took Mourinho about 3 years to notice.
  3. I agree. Think he is the sort of guy who needs to consistently play to get into a rhythm, injuries have only disrupted his role in the team and its clear to see. Hopefully he can get back to how he was playing a few weeks ago.
  4. I really hope he doesn't want to leave. He has only been here for 2 seasons but hes already idolized by the fans and it would be a huge miss because when hes on his game there aren't many better strikes in England let alone Europe bar the obvious ones. Like people have mentioned in previous comments he is one of our most important players and personally I feel he offers things that Remy, Pato, Falcao and Traore don't. If he goes who do we honestly replace him with? Higuain? Cavani? There aren't that many top strikers these days unfortunately so if he goes it could take us back to the days of seeing guys like Torres and Demba Ba starting...
  5. Technically he isn't that poor. Everyone has moments when they lose the ball, look at Pedro who gave it away about 3000 times but he played in arguably the most technical side there has ever been in Barcelona and also Spain. I think his dribbling is quite loose at times but there was a moment yesterday where he picked it up around the center circle and kept it very well under pressure from Gareth Barry and also had a few moments where he shapes to shoot, just drops his shoulder and shifts it, also like his goal v PSG, I don't think his decisions are always good but his technique is certainly at an adequate standard which is clear to see. I honestly think our system has never been more reliant on a striker since Rafa basically built the team around Torres. I think this is why Remy and Falcao haven't played regularly when fit mainly because they are more one dimensional than Costa is. Remy is good at running in behind defenses in to space but is particularly poor at dropping off the front and holding it up where as Falcao is particularly poor at playing off the front and linking with others. Costa can mix it up and can do a bit of it all. Hes certainly not perfect but you see a huge improvement when Costa plays upfront than say Traore, Remy or Falcao.
  6. Courtois is one of the top keepers in the world at 23 years old (I think?), stop with this hes regressed talk, its such bullshit. He cannot save everything every game every week and the whole squad this year has been incredibly poor for half of the season. He probably is. He is probably just as good as Neuer actually, I think Neuer's slightly over glorified because hes somehow been reinvented into some sort of sweeper keeper/footballing god looking at what people say about him. The same with De Gea, he has one really outstanding season for United and hes automatically the best keeper in the world? Bullshit. Courtois had 3 outstanding years at Atletico which was made even more impressive considering he had just come straight out the Belgian league with Genk where he was also very key to their title win at 18 years old. Also last year for us he was important, a lot of people were slightly concerned because of Cech being on the bench but Courtois was rightfully in the team and didn't disappoint with his performances (especially for dealing with crosses which I feel he is better at dealing at than Cech). Every team in Europe would take Courtois in a heart beat but yet here we are saying hes regressed and should play Begovic more etc and not as good as everyone once said... crazy times. I bet if we went to sell him a Real Madrid or Barcelona would be the first clubs to be interested.
  7. Think that's unfair. Given he has out performed Matic for much of the season what do you want Guus to do? Play an under performing CDM/CM or Mikel who's playing better? Hes been a big part of how we've turned it around because he gives Cesc a bit more freedom to play at times and that is very underrated by many on here. ....waiitng for someone to say play RLC instead of a DM next to Fabregas..
  8. I don't see how people are questioning/judging the performances of Courtois, Azpi, Ivanovic, Cesc, Pedro and Willian ? I thought the first half we played very well but we tired as a collective due to our pressing and were undone by two defensive mistakes in wide areas. I'd rather we go out like this than the absolute bloodbath it would of been under Mourinho playing so negatively at home like the year before.
  9. Was actually impressed with him at LB tonight but for the first goal he gets sucked in to the middle of the pitch far too much which makes it virtually impossible for him to get back out to try and block Ibrahimovic's cross, these sort of things are what I'm worried about seeing him at LB, just takes one mistake to give away a chance to someone to create a big chance. Azpi does the same for the second goal, a bit too central and is caught ball watching, cannot do that against teams with players like Ibrahimovic and Di Maria.
  10. Its not because of that Chelsea game as well, even in smaller games in the French league he has missed some really really easy chances. He is still a good player but I'm questioning his mentality at times because he seems to have a tendency to miss easy chances in bigger games.
  11. Does he have the bottle for big games? He seems to fluff his lines in certain big games a lot.
  12. End of the day if he came back here he would be second choice. Sure he has improved his link and aerial play as well as having a decent goal record for a 22 year old but he sure wasn't happy as a number two option for Chelsea 2 years ago so why would he be now? Even now Bertrand Traore is breaking through and he has looked extremely promising in limited appearances. 56M pounds on Lukaku or a player we already have who has impressive technical attributes and has made an impact in limited appearances who can play two or three positions? These were similar questions when we went to sign Costa regarding the whole Traore bit up there but selling Lukaku for 28M and signing Costa for 4M more has been completely justified.
  13. Yes I know that but honestly, modern full backs like Alaba, Sandro, Danilo, Alves, Alba etc. are all pretty good defensively, modern day football or not I'd prefer to have a natural defender in my team than a winger being put there just for the sake of it. If we get Conte I hope to god he signs a left back of a high standard then we won't need to see Kenedy there because its clear hes a winger,Baba has been unconvincing too at times although he still hasn't had a major chance to cement that place as his own in the team. For instance lets look at Zabaleta at City, rock solid defensively first and foremost, then he looks to play forward and overlap. The same with Azpi, I'd rather have someone like that or Ashley Cole than trying to turn someone into something they aren't. Fair enough he could be a decent player there and people have said he has poor technique (really don't see how they came to that conclusion) but he is the sort of the guy you'd rather see attacking a full back than being attacked as a full back, hes quick, very direct and works hard, let him develop his final ball as a winger because it would take a lot more work to improve his defensive skills and make him a full back.
  14. If it is to be Conte, hopefully we won't see any of his 3-5-2 with our team. Surely if we can get a aggressive and dynamic midfield player we have to play 4-3-3.
  15. And others have tried and failed too, like Ricardo Quaresma at Barcelona. I like Kenedy when he goes forward because hes fearless and restricting him to playing LB would be a huge waste. He should be fighting to play in Hazard's position. Defense can be worked on but its pointless moving him back to a position where he is going to see less of the ball just for the fact we don't have a left back at a high level, either that or people believe Hazard will be here for the rest of his 5 year contract (which I doubt he will) so to keep him he must play LB or whatever. I'd have liked to have seen Guus and Jose drop Hazard for Kenedy earlier in the season and hopefully if it is Conte who takes over this summer, he sees Kenedy as a winger.
  16. I'm sorry but I am intrigued how someone who cannot position himself well and has struggled defensively at left back when he plays can ever become a top bracket full back? He was caught out easily for the Norwich goal, as well as Ivanovic. Some players do well in a change of position but some don't. Someone who was compared to Hulk, talked about being fast, direct and having a powerful shot surely playing left back would an utter waste. Like I said before I think Eden's presence in the team regardless of his form makes people question whether Kenedy could ever break through in that position but we've seen this season hes been bright and excelled on in bursts. He has a big future ahead of him if his involvement in the team continues, the same with Bertrand Traore. Also regarding Henry comment, big difference going from a left winger to a striker than a left winger to a left back. If he keeps playing LB and teams keep exposing him defensively, soon enough fans will criticize him and turn on him and its back to square one with youth. Give them a chance yes but at least don't put too much pressure on them making them play a brand new position than is alien to them where they could really struggle like he did defensively tonight.
  17. He was in a left wing position, Hazard was more central, hes not going to have that many chances to score goals from LB considering Hazard usually plays on left more often than not, sure Hazard comes inside but he is still mainly on the left side of the pitch. If Kenedy was playing LW he would have exactly the same space and opportunities to do what he did tonight but more often. Also why play a left winger as a left back, who struggled defensively all game against a poor side who clearly targeted him, where the winger doesn't offer as much protection as is given on the right side? In my opinion Kenedy has deserved to play left wing ahead of Hazard for 3/4s of the season so far and its a shame he hasn't because he really looks like he could become an excellent and exciting wide player. His key attributes when he signed were meant to be dribbling and shooting, hes not going to get many chances to shoot if hes playing left back, Hazard isn't untouchable and if Kenedy was competing directly for a left wing spot I think he would give Hazard more motivation to play at a higher level again. I think the fact Baba hasn't been given a long run in the team and the fact Eden Hazard is Eden Hazard makes people want to see Kenedy as a left back instead of his best position, left wing.
  18. He has been doing pre-season training since he came here and today was the first time he was in the match day squad, hes maybe still lacking fitness? Maybe not but if he is lacking fitness he can't be far off as he was on the bench. Just because he didn't get on when we had to really roll our sleeves up and defend our 18 yard box from high crosses doesn't mean anything actually, it was more about how we managed the game considering we made two subs early on in he second half too and then brought on a defender for Kenedy. If we were 3 or 4-0 up he would probably have gotten on.
  19. He looks slow and unfit. Really should make him play with the u21s to try and gain more fitness, hes been dreadful, never looked sharp at any point in this season and if playing with the u21s can't make him work harder to regain his form and fitness then what will? Mikel isn't perhaps as mobile but he reads the game better and has to start over Matic to he regains a bit of what he had last season.
  20. Is this serious? Hes not even played a minute for Chelsea yet people are doubting why we signed him/whether there was any reason? Might as well write off every player who we have on loan who hasn't played for us either at this rate. Smh
  21. Kenedy is not a left back. Please stop playing him there. Redmond beat him a fair bit, I don't care how talented Redmond is (hes alright nothing special to be honest) a proper LB would of done better. Great goal though, shows why he should be playing as close to the opposition net as possible.
  22. Why was he playing left midfield for Juventus? Because Allegri doesn't trust him ahead of Marchisio and Khedira because of the opposite side of his game which you don't see on youtube like defending and positional sense??? Or because it was Bayern Munich??
  23. Don't like to say it but Arsenal should probably have scored twice in the first half which would of completely changed the game and given them a huge advantage as they could continuously counter Barca if they managed to keep a good shape and let Barca over commit going forward. Little margins are so crucial in big games.
  24. Traore's header was a fluke. No way he meant that. The Torres header is different class, like the Suarez one v Norwich I think, so much power and accuracy. Drogba's header was impressive too considering Boateng gave him quite a shove.
  25. He needs to be more like Cesc, demanding the ball whenever he can. Cesc looked bemused in the interview at the end of the game when he said that Eden should of taken the penalty and should always 'want more' which I think hes right, he should want more goals and more assists. Sure they are two different players in different positions but Cesc was always looking for the ball even if he didn't do anything special with it at times, always wanting it no matter if hes under pressure or not, Eden has all the ability in the world but needs to want to be the best player in the world and take games by the scruff of the neck, he did it last year so why can't he not do it again?
