Azpi's lack of offensive contribution was really more down to Jose's instructions I feel. He made several overlapping runs v Scunthorpe, provided an assist and whenever he could offer an overlap he tried to. As well in the other games, hes looked more and more willing to get forward under GH.

Traore > Bamford Traore scored 10 or 11 goals for Vitesse upfront last year after being shifted there. Give him a go ahead of Bamford, hes a much better talent.
-
Its going to be Pellegrini now isn't it?
-
Not just his goals that is making him look better, the ball is sticking to him when hes got his back to goal much more than it was earlier in the season and hes also making more runs. Guus Hiddink has got him doing the basics right and hes starting to get goals.

Yeah there are CFs like Suarez, Ibra, Aguero etc who are better but I was meaning in terms of wingers. Robben, Ribery and Douglas Costa perhaps too totally forgot them but Robben and Ribery haven't had a season or two of consistent appearances without disruption due to injury. Still not sure if Bale is better than Hazard, both are good players but I think if Bale's physical qualities like his speed and strength were to decline rapidly (lets say a big injury similarly to Falcao/Torres) he'd be quite useless in comparison to Hazard who has a superior technical ability but I'll also say that Hazard and Bales seasons are very much opposites this season to say Bale's second season at Real, Bale excelling for Real with goals and assists and Hazard struggling for form and suffering injuries.
-
Bale better than Hazard? Fuck sake not this shit again. The only wide players who are better than Hazard are Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo in my opinion.
-
Matic and Mikel... both are different players, one is really an 8 and the other is a 6 in terms of positions.
-
The same way every other player does. Just because it is a cup game playing against lower opposition and because you are under 21 doesn't mean you deserve to start ahead of 24 other guys or whatever, if they earn play time then fine but if they don't then nobody can honestly sit and say that its 24 other players fault or a coach's fault for playing players who are training better/harder and performing better. I mean would you drop Willian who has been our player of the season so far and is in exceptional form to accommodate Bertrand Traore, who at most has played maybe 30 minutes of football all season if you were Guus Hiddink? Or Mikel who just had a brilliant game against Palace for Ruben? Its not so black and white as oh its a cup game drop 5 big players and play 5 kids in their place.

Exactly as much as I am worried about Oscar's inconsistency and lack of an influence in certain games he has still got plenty to offer, he is more than good enough to make an impact off the bench or even be a rotation option. Isco is a better footballer with better technical ability but now though the shackles are off as Jose isn't there and I feel he was holding back Oscar and Hazard particularly, despite Hazard's season last year he could probably still better that.

Waking Roman up so he changes his ways is the most important thing. Waking somebody up who has invested so much in to this club and is just as big an influence in how Chelsea are where we are today. Why would anybody who is a Chelsea fan want to embarrass anybody at Chelsea....
-
To be fair we should go for it because if its possible (and it likely is seeing the Madrid squad) he would improve us in that 10 position. He is just a delightful player to watch at times too.
-
Begovic Ivanovic - Zouma - Cahill - Baba Ramires/RLC - Mikel Willian - Oscar/Fabregas - Kenedy Remy/Costa
-
Is it just me or did we look better after he went off?
-
People often criticize Mikel's role in the squad or in the team saying he's wasting a space/taking minutes from RLC but my god what a performance today. He does the simple things but it offers so much for the guys in front of him. Diego Costa looked like every penny of the 32 million pounds we paid for him as well.
-
Has plenty of ability and versatility for a young guy. Hopefully we can get something done for him. I actually hope nobody posts 'why sign him when we have Bamford' though....
-
Was decent but just slow, times he seemed to take a day and an age to roll it out or even pass it.
-
Remember when people said we should sell him and get an upgrade on our right wing? Ha.
-
What do you think I've been doing all season?
-
Lets be honest, he is an interim manager, on a 6 month contract, not 6 years... he will use mainly the same players Jose did, the same formation and probably just make tweaks to certain things like Benitez did when he took over from Di Matteo. If your expecting him to turn Chelsea into Barcelona/Ajax, using academy products every week then please wake up, it would be suicide for him to rip apart a team that won two trophies a year ago and put trust in unproven and potentially not good enough players. PS. I am still confused as to why RLC wasn't sent on loan, which is mainly Mourinho's fault as he wanted to keep him in the squad despite blasting him in pre-season and subbing him after 25 mins in some game, get him on loan somewhere, you see guys like Solanke and Nathan Ake playing every week and its painful that we have an inferior player in our squad rather than on loan enjoying himself playing every week.
-
So are you saying we should take a kid who has played 9 times and hasn't ever scored in the PL ahead of Remy/Falcao and last resort Hazard as a false 9 to be our second choice in case Costa or the rest of them gets injured? Not a chance. We are fighting a relegation battle right now unfortunately. We need to score goals to stay up. Although Hazard hasn't score this season I'd back him to score for Chelsea before Bamford, I mean these guys are proven top players. Sure if we were like 10th and comfortable okay maybe time to introduce guys like Bamford since Hiddink is only in charge short term but we are not 10th and we are in a relegation battle.
-
I will be honest and I can see your point but its not like we have a really young team or really young squad, people seem to forget we have got guys here who have won basically everything there is to win in football at club level and some at international level. Leaders aren't the problem, performances are. We could easily have competed for the PL this season but it really has been a shit season, the manager and players need to take the blame, not a lack of leaders, its not like Arsenal 3 years ago when United and City were demolishing them because they were a team of 20 year olds. Like we saw last summer, you don't need to buy some experienced guy who is going to be only a good fit for the mental side of the game but for me someone who is hungry, will improve and add competitiveness to the squad, guys like Courtois, Zouma, Cesc, Costa, Filipe Luis, Remy, Drogba... although Drogba was a big influence off the pitch (although he played more times than Costa and Remy that year) you look at what Courtois, Cesc and Costa in particular added to the team who lets be honest our first season under Mourinho were beyond average and relied a lot on one guy.
-
Well at least he is better at doing a dolphin impression than the impression of a central defender.
-
Hazard false 9, Falcao, Remy > Bamford...
-
I think we will see more of Traore and Kenedy under Hiddink. Kenedy has looked pretty good whenever he has played this season anyway so I think he will be used in cup games and that more or less every chance he gets as well as time in the premier league for rotation/being substituted in.
-
Diego Costa has to play. His performance and goals against Watford showed he still has lots to offer.
