True but my point is we need depth. Hazard, CHO, Pedro and Malcom is good for wings but people just want Willian out and no replacement in, which considering Hazard and CHO will 75% likely be gone next season... and id we continue with Eden as a 9 still leaves us short. Also we might have to be patient with Malcom. Look at the idiots turning on Jorginho already... 6 months in...
-
Selling Willian for however much, signing no replacement and depening on an 18 year old who probably wont be here come the summer or even the end of the month and Pedro along with Hazard whos played more as a 9 recently, is stupid though. Surely I am not the only one who sees that? I know people dislike Willian but in terms of our squad depth it would be so stupid to just sell Willian. If Malcom comes in and hits the ground running okay fine but if he doesnt at first, which theres a big chance due to the lack of regular minutes hes had this season, are people going to turn on him like Sarri and Jorginho? And if he doesnt come in, we sell Willian, depending on 3 wingers for the rest of the season is crazy, considering all 3 might go in the Sumner. Not counting RLC as a winger either.

Generally dont think its as clear cut as if we dont accept it heads should be called for. The only other teams vastly intested in Malcom are Everton and a Chinese team according to various media sources in Europe. He is talented but hasnt impressed at Barca by any accounts. I mean perhaps Sarri can revitalize him but perhaps not. Perhaps he was a big fish in a small pond at Bordeaux or perhaps just too big a move to soon. If we get decent money and him for Willian, then sure why not but we have to be careful just because Willian is a underperforming player who can be replaced doesnt mean we should turf him out no questions asked regarding the first player thrown at us straight away.

Not 100% sure on Malcolm, Dembele would be better option. I suppose getting him plus money for Willian is still a decent deal though.

Would say thats incredibly harsh in my opinion. He didnt have legs like at Arsenal when he was at Barcelona never mind here but his leadership qualities for me shone through as well as huge commitment especially when Conte basically marginalised him after trying to sign Nainggolan. Even under Sarri he stayed, worked hard, fair enough hes getting a move but Henry is a big swing in him going for me. Terrible under pressure? Again, dont think thats true, he arrived in his first season under huge pressure to prove himself to us Chelsea fans first and foremost and too many people who thought he was never that good at Barcelona either. Under Conte too like I said was basically marginalised, he had limited chances, pressure to always perform to keep his place... ended up with 15 assists or something in a season where he didnt start 20 games. The bad season we had under Jose, Matic was all over the place exposing Cesc more than the opposite way around for me, not that Cesc's defensive game was brilliant but he wasn't signed to be a defensive midfielder. Under Conte in that second season, he was trying thing's but they werent working, our strikers and wingers werent scoring, there was a severe lack of movement infront of him too hard for any midfielder to hit runners when there are no runners. One thing he always has is the courage or confidence to try and play forward even if its a difficult pass. Truely a great PL midfielder in my eyes, maybe not a Scholes, Lampars, Gerrard, Viera sort of level, just below it but hes unfortunate hes only won 2 PL titles but hey he did play for Arsenal at his very best performances.

Andre Silva would be a more high risk high reward option for me. Sevilla are keen on Morata too apparently.

A club doctor isnt going to make a difference in signing or staying 😂 talk about clutching at straws.... Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt was sought out to heal bizzare and long term injuries faster/more efficiently not just by footballers but various other sports atheletes went to him for treatment, including Usain Bolt. Just because Pep threw a wobbler doesnt change anything. The fact Bayern reappointed him after Pep left shows how highly they think of him... but no CHO shouldnt go there because they have this guy as a doctor.

Ancelotti wanted Torres. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2010/may/14/carlo-ancelotti-fernando-torres-chelsea Zhirkov and Sheva were Abramovich driven buys though, true, particularly Zhirkov being Russian and all No chance we are signing Icardi in January.

Wont lie regarding CHO. Hypothetically speaking, what manager in the world would come here, where they dont get a lot of time unless they can win trophies and play a 18 year old every week ahead of Willian and Pedro? I think every manager who comes in the door understands how the club works based on history. Theres too much pressure and demand to compete and win trophies sooner rather than later. Not many top clubs in the PL play 18 year olds every week. Maybe Liverpool with Trent Arnold-Alexander, before that United with Rashford (only because of an injury crisis)... City dont even play Phil Foden a lot who is a hugely hugely talented footballer and on par or better than the likes of Sancho in terms of talent.
-
I assume your hinting at the moment he went to let the ball run out for a corner and it didnt as someone from Spurs ran to prevent it? Entitlement? Again Willian is replaceable, should have been upgraded on but this narrative regarding arrogance, bad attitude, it comes from disgruntled fans who are pushing an agenda to try drive players out of the club. Also regarding the talent weve given up to accomodate him, that is hardly his fault, blame every manager weve had since he came in... or those players for not convincing the managers. What about the moments where there were 2 or 3 misplaced passes towards Hazard, when he just decided to put his arms out, walk around complaining and not apply pressure on the ball although he could have? Attitude issues as well? Arrogance....? Entitlement? Just warping silly situations on the pitch to use as a legitimate reason. Btw. We all know Willian isnt good enough, Morata isnt good enough, Cahill isnt good enough along with countless others but over the last few years some of the reasons and comments regarding anything but their footballing ability really has me questioning why some people actually bother supporting this club, just laughable, I mean "hate" Willian... seriously 😂
-
Best player on the pitch tonight.
-
Yes very good offensively, poor defensively but you can't outscore your opponent every match. Rodgers learned that at Liverpool, AVB learned that here, Pep learned it in year one... defensively we have improved under Sarri. We have the foundations just lack a few players in offensive positions to create chances.
-
And if he doesn't score regularly he will be a flop like the rest of them?
-
Persistent fouling high up the pitch as well tonight. No need for it. Looked shaky first half but grew into it second half.
-
More impressive first half than second half but 80 mins against Spurs at his age, injuries or not, plus Sarris comments, hopefully food for thought.
-
It's true though. Like it or not to assume Sarri was going to come in and Chelsea were going to compete with Liverpool and City sides where their coaches, who are top class, have got them to such a high level, was daft. They are elite coaches that have won and have had a long term to work their teams. Napoli was a process that took him time to get right yet people believe that Sarri was going to come in and instantly win trophies, or so youd expect reading some of the posts on here regarding how disappointed or how people are losing their faith with Sarri... hes a good coach, I hope people give him a chance, tonights performance was good against a top team in terms of how we played, just we were lacking final ball and goals.
-
Not going to lie but who ever said Sarri was as good as either or those? His Napoli team were known for playing good football. Not winning trophies. Pep and Klopp won trophies against hugely competitive teams with unique styles. Its a harsh reality but lets be honest. Sarri is a good coach, one I think we need to back and give time to but to put him on a pedestal next to Pep, Klopp, even Mou, Conte or Ancelotti, serial winners (arguably except Klopp although his Dortmund team were exceptional for 3 seasons), was always a step far. He is a very good coach yes. Pep or Klopp level? No.
-
Honestly thought we played very well. People saying we played shit etc. open your fucking eyes, we dominated the game, hit the post twice. Ungrateful cunts. Sure we werent clincial enough in attack but we played without a striker, false 9 works against smaller teams but not bigger ones. No surprise though, if we won and played like Spurs there would be outrage... like under Conte. Hazard and Willian corners/free kicks/final ball fucking atrocious again. For all the flack Alonso gets, at least he can beat the first man. Same with Azpi.
-
Yeah ESPN reported it, 9m euro sign on fee
-
Rabiot has signed a pre contract with Barca. Aouar would be a good signing if Barella werent to come.
-
Not sure about the fuss over the play prior to the penalty, looked onside to me, think Azpi plays him on. Also I get Alonso is not popular but hes put in a few good crosses that have come to chances/set plays. Weve been better than Spurs but its not about how you play in semi finals, its the result. Also anybody else think Christensen has looked poor?
-
Offer them Drinkwater and Moses.
-
Wont cost a fortune? Hes a Benfica player. Lets not be silly. They know his worth and could easily ask for 50m at least considering Bayern are also very interested.
-
So are folk now willing to give him a chance instead of bashing him before he plays now? Thank fuck. Looking forward to see how he does.
