  1. I agree 100% but then you get the idiots who think hes washed up because hes struggling in a struggling Milan side 😂 If theres one thing Higuain has shown since playing in Europe is he knows where the net is. One bad season out of the last what 12 is nothing. Hes got pedigree and had the beet season of his career under Sarri. I think its a huge plus.
  2. Tbf Conte shot himself in the foot by declaring his top scorer was of no use to him before the season started. For all of Costa's flaws, he scored 1 goal every 2 games here and as we seen under Jose season we won the PL, Hiddink in that temp spell and even Contes first yesr when we won the league, when he was motivated and up for it he was a brilliant player to have. Even if he lost a bit of that form over Dec/Jan/Feb periods under Mou and Conte I still have no doubts about how good he was and I find it quite odd people fail to see that, even more with the struggles we are having now upfront. Hes not doing so well at Atletico I suppose but they are in a bit of an interesting place at the minute.
  3. RW. Cuts inside on his left.
  4. True. Im quite gutted because the first 10 games here he looked a really good player, until after that injury v City. Obviously now hes nowhere near that. Its a curious case because something obviously just snapped with him, he went from a very good footballer (nobody will admit it but at the start he was carrying the team with his goals and consistently played well) with all the right qualities to do well, basically to absolutely nothing in like the space of 3 months. Even at the start when he missed chances it didnt affect him but then it turned. Wasnt just that his general play and attitude deteriorated hugely. Wonder how Higuain does if he comes in.
  5. Dont see why Spurs are after him. They spent 25m to sign Lucas Moura last January and Pochettino still rates Lamela, both play on the right.
  6. Interesting move. I think he suits Atletico pretty well given they are predominantly a counter attacking team. If he can get going he will add to a different option to Costa and Griezmann but thats only if he can get going though. Atletico are maybe one of the only clubs who could turn a striker in his predicament around slightly. Theyve always had good strikers. Even Torres at the end there, he was a different player, although nowhere near his best but his confidence wasnt as shot.
  7. We arent strong contenders for the title or in the CL just now either. Anyway, the club will bounce back with a few changes in a couple of seasons. The squad needs a reshuffle. The manager needs time and players that suit him. I didnt mean top 6 finish like that, I meant there are 6 teams who will always be going for top 4: Us, City Liverpool, United, Spurs and Arsenal. If we sell Hazard and get 3 or 4 good players in other positions that would strengthen the 11 or the 18 then we would be doing well, because its not just the 11 that is lacking, its our 18 man squad, getting the players identified and signed is the problem. Its not all or nothing regarding Hazard, there will always be good attacking players, maybe not his level but if we should have learned anything its that good attacking players are always coming through. Obviously I would rather he stayed but its not going to be the end of the club if he goes which some people tend to make a point in stating.
  8. If he chooses the LB and isnt stuck with one he clearly doesnt rate I am sure he will be open to changing no? I cant see where this hype for Emerson comes from apart from the fact everyone doesn't fancy Alonso. He had one good season about 3 or 4 years ago. Hasnt been the same since. Even here fair enough he is faster than Alonso and better at 1v1s but are you going to tell me that he is relly better? Hes a defensive liability.
  9. Considering he'd only be a back up to Alex Sandro it makes sense, hes an Italian NT player and Juve wanted him years ago. Hes hardly going to be a massive loss, swear the consensus here is that Emerson is much more than a tactically naive average full back? If Alonso wasn't playing so poorly/wasnt average nobody would care lets be frankly honest. Just means we need to look for another LB. Perhaps one Sarri can trust and will use ahead of Alonso? Or will we just keep players who clearly arent valued by the manager and persist to burn everyone out?
  10. Perhaps but again u23s level probably isnt as beneficial to him as some of the lads being used. We have seen CHO can hold his own in the cup games at a higher level. Gap between first team and U23 is incredibly huge.
  11. Tbf its hardly like anybody bar Kante and Luiz are playing reslly well anyway. Suppose since Ross is like Alonso and Willian, considered below average by folk on here he has a huge task on his hands convincing anybody, as do those 2. Jorginho kind of falling into that bracket but the usual untouchable getting away with average performances for a while now. Fair enough he can do better but if someones going to tell me hes the only one then they should open their eyes.
  12. Id rather of missed out on Golovin and signed Kovacic than the other way around. Not saying Golovin is a bad player but theres no doubts who the better player is.
  13. He is considered a permanent member of the first team squad I would say so honestly I'd be surprised if he plays u23s very often.
  14. Obviously Sarri prefers using Hazard, Willian, Pedro, RLC on the right/left ahead of him. I don't know what else it could be. If I was in his shoes Id consider the same tbf although looking at it, he wont play week in week out at Bayern in my eyes either.
  15. Oh come on. Weve had this before. Mediocrity? The squads not great and if we lose Eden its a huge blow but its hardly as if we are gonna fall outside the top 6, which is competitive. Swear when Eden goes half the fans may as well go with him, you get the feeling theres no belief that we can manage without him in the future but we did it in the past with players, some who in my eyes have done more than Eden has, the Drogba's, the Lampards, the Terrys, the Coles, the Zolas etc. Fair enough weve not bought exceptionally well recently but theres no doubt we can still attract players and have a good team. If you dont believe that then you may as well go support someone else. He was going to leave eventually and plus hes hardly been at the level he was the first 10 games for a good while, may get stick for this hes truly a world class player only when he wants to be. Weve had 2 bad seasons after winning the PL in the last 4 years... his effort and performances along with Costa, Matic, Fabregas etc was a big part of that unfortunately. .
  16. I think its clear or he would have renewed by now. He will be on a good deal anyway like most youngsters at Chelsea. Its not a matter of money clearly its about playing time. If you cant see that then I don't know.
  17. Would prefer him over Tonali, definitely. Tonali has talent but he isnt even half the level Verratti was at when he left Pescara to go to Paris... yes he's been called up and been training with the Italian NT but again I think Parades is at a better level to come in and offer something. Plus it makes sense for the kid to learn and improve at a team he has a key role playing in every week. Regarding Paredes he is good but could be a bit sloppy sometimes with his passing or he was at Roma. He has physicality, good passing range, stamina, mobility too and fits the profile for a Sarri team as a CDM. Hopefully we can get him for under 30m. I think in terms of the market, 35m would be the highest we should pay though. Still plenty time to improve as well.
  18. Just means buy another LB. Emerson is pretty shite anyway, Alonso is better. And hes pretty average. Says it all.
  19. Two birds one stone. Get it done. 6 months is pointless because if he is a success Juve will ramp up the price. Hes worth the risk for 18 months, definitely. Also hes on a decline? Are you joking? Hes at an average Milan side, where Andre Silva couldnt even score goals last season and is thriving at Seville....
  20. He wants to go clearly. Bayern are a huge club. But Bayern are in a bit of a mess at present. Average manager, aging players in key positions... like I said huge club but only problem is Chelsea aren't a Bundesliga team who will bend over to accomodate making a deal with them regarding transfers. If we did, why else would they feel the need to publically talk about CHO? Its like Barca and Real have done in the past, have a player or manager or board member talk about a player to try and entice a player to force a move or whatever.... underhand tactics or not it happens...
  21. So another uncommited wideplayer, more or less. To be honest I would rather he would just come out and say he wants to go come the summer. Put everyone out of their misery. Its painly obvious hes off. Why would he stay?
  22. Dont know why him between 19-25 is being discussed. He had the best season of his career under Sarri 3 years ago and is better than what we have as well as being a proven goalscorer at every level. Fitness issues? Hes has apparently had them his whole career but its probably more because he is not naturally fit athletic guy, like a Ronaldo or whoever. Also whoever posted the sitter video v Germany, so what? watch Lewandowski, hes missed sitters, Cavanis missed sitters, Suarez missed sitters... these things happen. But these guys numbers are consistent. Same as Higuain. Again, reading this thread, it would seem like the Pulisic deal, another case of guy written off and deemed not good enough before even potentially pulling the shirt on. Lets just perceviere wirh Morata, Giroud and Hazard as a false 9 then because its clear and was in the summer, Higuain was top of Sarris list like Jorginho. Lets not forget Juve only sold Higuain to comply with FFP after the Ronaldo deal. Now there's talk of them having to consider selling Dybala because Higuain potentially wont be staying at Milan for them to exercise the obligation to buy. Sure 1 goal since October but in the last 3 or 4 seasons that is a lot of goals.
  23. He plays CB every week and has done regularly for about 3 seasons now, at Watford and at Bournemouth. He plays for the Dutch NT as a CB. Hes not a midfielder or a full back. If we were to sign him it would be as a CB. No more square pegs in round holes. Have we learned nothing.
  24. Could say that for our whole front 3 and MF 3 recently tbf.
