15 goals and 8 assists in 27 matches is a good return, I liked him at the World Cup but after seeing Depay have inconsistencies at United after a better season and also having a promising world cup, I am also wary. Depay is a hell of a player now though tbf. Although hes got an attitude.

He's essential to this team though, in our build up. He makes more passes and has more touches than anybody else per game every week for a reason. Hes not just a basic sideways pass merchant, he plays through the lines, over the top, always makes himself free to support his team mates under pressure... hes capable of that final pass from deeper and has shown at times this season he can do it. People expecting our deepest lying midfielder to create 5 chances a game again huh? So John Obi Mikel all over again.

Emerson's definitely defensively weaker. He has pace but relies on it because hes always caught out. Positionally he is poor. Alonso isnt great either I agree but Emerson and Luiz together in the same defence scares me. He has a long way to go positionally and tactically. Weve seen the likes of Ruben, Ross etc worked on these things in different positions under Sarri and got their chance. If Sarri doesnt truely fancy Emerson as an option I dont blame him because he is a liability defensively and like you've said hasnt played regularly due to fitness and injuries. Alonso can be improved upon also because he is also defensively weak and frustrating offensively at times but his averageness doesn't help his cause.

Emerson is 24 years olx. Has beem playing professionally since 2011. Alonso may be shite but if Emerson is a prospect does that make Bakayoko a prospect? Not a chance. At 24 you should have more tactical understanding than what Emerson has unfortunately. That game against Derby and the Europa games he looked very naive at times. He may be worth a shot in the short run with Alonso's form but he wont be a key player here. A year at Roma 3 seasons ago doesnt change that.

100% For somebody whos defensive attributes are "a weakness" he was continously in the right place 4 or 5 times at key moments. So vital to how we play with the ball too.
-
He is better than Willian already. He will get a lot lot better too.
-
I dont think Emerson is going to change our team at all. Perhaps weaken it defensively, although we are already weak on the left side.
-
Brilliant move. Lets hope he makes the most of it.
-
He was 21 that season, playing really well yes but hes never been that productive in terms of goal involvement either. He had been featuring every week for about 3 years but even his first 2 seasons here his final ball wasn't perfect. Under Mourinho was when he started improving his final ball and his consistency was improving. The point is players need time to become consistent with their end product, Pulisic is the same, hes not a goalscorer perhaps but his game would improve under Sarri.
-
Lets hope if this goes through he isnt a flop. If he is then maybe its more than just the individual player. Wouldnt be a surprise either.
-
25m in the summer, worth considering.
-
He would give us another player who excels in 1 v 1s, like Eden. His end product is alright nothing special but at 20 yesr old who had the finished end product... Neymar didnt, Messi didn't, Ronaldo didnt, Hazard didnt... If he goes to Liverpool we will regret it 100%.

So people asked for him to play RW ahead of Willian, plays there, was meh, now its an excuse about hes a LW player, a position hes rarely ever going to play if Eden is there. He and Willian swapped, CHO played on the left for a while too and was meh again. So make your minds up folk. He can play both sides, easily, its just he struggled, he needs more minutes to get any sort of momentum. Last night was his first PL appearance this season. Just need to be patient and stop overrating him from the start. Hes a top talent but has got to grow yet, Jody Morris said he wasnt ready for first team football a while ago and Sarri also stated it. Last night was proof that he still has to learn. Hopefully he continues to get more momentum with Pedro being injured but he also picked up a injury so who knows. -
And you think we are going to sign a left back when we signed 2 in the last 2 years first and foremost? No chance. CF is the biggest issue, Hazard is nowhere near as influential as a false 9 than he is at left wing. A good striker that can bring goals and get Hazard back to his nautral position is first priority. Even then in defence that whole left side can be gotten at, Luiz at LCB and Alonso at LB.
-
Back to winning ways. Also good to see the season would appear to be over in January and not May, maybe time to stop bothering coming on the forum ๐
-
Quite hilarious how carried away people are getting. We arent buying a LB without selling one...
-
Embarrassing. The guys had 6 months. I hope nobody expected us to be the finished article in 6 months. He needs a January and another summer window to shape the squad more.
-
Costa? He left in the summer the players downed tools in January or February.. Conte made his own enemies, Hazard, Luiz, Willian, board among others. Id still hate to see what would happened if Conte had stayed unfortunately although he is a top coach.
-
David Luiz turning his back again. What the fuck, he stays turned round he gets hit with the ball. Still time to turn this around though. Hazard missed a huge sitter 10 mins before his goal which if anybody else missed it would be end of the world scenario.
-
Perhaps theres the odd idiot but no fan should do that to a player who plays for the team they support. The emoji thing would only continue to be a problem if Conte stayed. I agree we need to upgrade on him though and the chance he had was a once in a life time opportunity to play for Barca but it didnt happen, so we should perhaps try rally behind him and the other players we have.
-
Probably just as good a deal as we can get. 2 good/very good players and 100m euros. For somebody with one year left. I cant see him staying.
-
Imagine he went there and did well... ๐
-
Promising youngster, like Sandro Tonali... so aye another player who wont be integrated straight away. Pointless.
-
Must admit I am not surprised, reading half of the shit he gets in here, poor performances related stuff ok I understand but its obviously going to be 1000 times amplified on his own social media feed, a good bit of it probably not even football related. Same with Morata. Just shows why other clubs fans think we are a laughing stock at times, which is a shame because if you go to the stadium none of this shit is evident.
-
Fair enough, there is talk of him being arrogant but hes hardly a flight risk like a Balotelli or something. The fact he doesnt fancy a new deal at PSG or didnt fancy being a reserve list option for France in the summer at the world cup is hardly a huge issue for me, wouldnt say its a shit attitude, he is a good footballer who knows he's a good footballer and in the end his decision went against him where as it could have went against Deschamps if France didnt do so well for instance. The more players with shit attitude? Suppose this is Willian, Alonso, Morata, Drinkwater etc cause nobody likes are these players or thinks they can be improved on? Although every time we have won the league the year after its mainly the key players whos attitude have been pretty questionable... In regards to Rabiot on the cheap or on a free, would be a very shrewd move. If he goes to Barca or any other big team,on a free, at his age, experience and quality it will be a bargain....
