  1. I remember reading he comes from a very wealthy family, I don't think he cares much about wages.
  2. This is exactly the nightmare I was fearing when we sacked Andre. I fear he can make them genuine title contenders, let's hope not.
  3. We should not pay more than 15m for a CM. Both Cabay and Fellaini will only be here for rotation.
  4. Read about this a couple of days ago. Didn't think it was very news worthy as we acquire players for our youth academy on a regular basis. But 3m? I hope he is something special then.
  5. Fiorentina said that we have made no offer for him: http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2012/06/16/3177714/fiorentina-no-offers-for-jovetic-from-chelsea-or-napoli? At least we are linked with him.
  6. Welcome Silviu. It's always great to have new members here. Stick around
  7. League Cup: None FA Cup: Home game against Portsmouth (Wasn't televised anywhere) Champions League: None Premier League: Tottenham at home (Sister's engagement party) and the final match against Blackburn (also wasn't televised here). EDIT: And the Wycombe game in pre-season obviously.
  8. I'd kill to see him playing in Chelsea shirt. No, seriously.
  9. LMAO. That is so stupid it's actually funny And, he's got the headlines of all the papers after Englad loose in the Euros:
  10. I've always like Jojo and hoped we'd bring him here. He could make an excellent cheaper alternative if the Hulk deal breaks down. But I haven't read anywhere that we are actually linked with him.
  11. I understand some people's concerns about this appointment and they have valid points (SeB's post was typically excellent). Yes Robbie has not yet proved to be a world-class manager despite his accomplishments last season, but he surely hasn't proved to an awful manager. I am glad he got the chance to prove that he is good enough to manage Chelsea because I think last season's accomplishments, though may not be due to managerial and tactical brilliance, have justified taking a risk on him and giving him a shot to prove himself.
  12. Although that maybe true, the aim of this thread still is for users to share their opinions on Feranado Torres. And he's as entitled to expressing his opinion as you are. Totalitarianism will not work here. As for Torres he wasn't exactly excellent throughout the game, but he got the all important goals. I'm happy for him, I just hope he can build on this. I fear if he does not score in the next couple of games he'll be back to square one.
  13. Two things: 1) Is finishing above Arsenal good enough at Chelsea? I don't think so. Over the last 8 years, imo, this club has thrived on competing for every tittle and for settling on finishing 4th. If the squad can at best finish 3rd, then it is simply not good enough by our standards. 2) AVB was brought here to try and implement exactly what he tried to do. The owner's plans for the club, which have continued after Andre's departure through the signings we are making, took a blow when some of our players refused to take the managers instructions. I'll never forget our players wasting time in the last minutes of the game when the team was loosing 2-0 against Everton and 1-0 against WBA. It was the player power, spear-headed by Lampard, that cost us those points. Not to say the Andre didn't have his obvious flaws.
  14. You're missing my point which was: We did not loose the EPL because of AVB or luck or refereeing, we didn't win it because our squad was simply not good enough.
  15. We did not loose the tittle in two or three games . I realize that some games had special circumstances, but my point was that last season's squad will never win the league even with better luck and only the league to concentrate on.
  16. Tbf, we didn't do much better under Robbie. Drew vs Arsenal and Twatenham and lost to the scum. As a matter of fact, our league form under RDM was worse than AVB. I think there is no need to blame the refereeing or Andre, we have to acknowledge that our squad just wasn't good enough last season.
  17. He's a great talent; a technically gifted player, but I question his work rate, especially defensively.
  18. Damn. There goes my plans for the afternoon
  19. ^^ Not to mention he scored some very important goals for us, especially this season.
  20. A bit overrated and unbelievably selfish. No thanks.
  21. Yes, please. The man is on a Hat-trick!
  22. Really? They think they can do better than 4th place?
  23. Lol it's just a thread. We have one for almost every player in the euros in the transfer market section If anything, imo, the "We Hate ....." threads reflect a small club mentality much more than this. Let it go...
