Yes, none of that is Torres' fault. But don't you think, when the fullbacks (our only natural wide players) get into crossing positions, that he should try and find space for himself in the box? It doens't matter if the last 19993420349 crosses have been shit and have gone into the stands/no where near him. But shouldn't he try to find space and cause confusion in the box? Because as I said in the Torres thread, there were quite a few occasions in the 2nd half where he just stood where he was and didn't make any attempt to run towards the goal or find a better position where he would have more space and time on the ball.

The fans have become that way because of what Roman & his board have done with regards to hiring & firing managers. Sure there would be some plastics that would still act the same way but I think the majority that have become "impatient" are only the way they are because of the actions of the board. By the way, I'm curious. I wasn't a part of this forum in the summer of 07 but can anyone remember what the general population of fans was saying after we failed to win the title? Yeah, I think it was more noticeable after Lukaku came on. Did you notice that too? I think AVB asked him to go there after the substitution.

He only played for about 10mins and didn't get the ball much but he made one good movement where he took the ball past a defender and got a decent-albeit-feeble shot on target. Which was more than what our #9 managed in the entire game.

Very good post and I agree with mostly everything. I am very disillusioned after yesterdays performance. I think the biggest problem is that a lot of these players know that they won't be here next season and so they have nothing to prove anymore. Hence the desire to win games is gone. I include the likes of Torres in this. He has given up. He is simply waiting to go back to Spain in the summer. Say what you want about Liverpool and their below average shitty signings, but they show more desire in one game than what we've shown in 18months. (it kills me to say this btw because I hate the scum more than anything) I just want to fastforward to the summer when AVB will be able to make some proper signings and a lot of these twats will be gone. But like you, I am getting less and less optimistic about AVB. I was very, very supportive of him up til the last month or so. He has done some really idiotic things and I can't get past them. Not playing McEachran and Bertrand, stupid substitutions, etc. But I'm still willing to give him more time because this team is absolutely awful and he's inherited it so it's not really his fault.

A striker that has such a laughable goal record should be trying TWICE as hard. He is a disgrace and an embarrassment and I cannot wait to see him go.

^ In my opinion he wasn't as bad as the others. His crossing is still atrocious but I support a player that tries & gets things wrong more than players that don't give a fuck.

It's more to do with Lalkovic being ignored when he should have already gotten a few chances. He definitely would have provided more than what Malouda & Kalou and possibly even Anelka have done for us on the wings in the last 18 months.

I think he said that he wouldn't mind if that was the case. With courtois, it's a straight forward issue since cech is still our no.1 so there is absolutely no point in him being here. I do think that KDB will be a part of our team next season

Gary Cahill isn't good enough to be our starting CB. Yes, yes, we should let him play first and see how he does, but he really isn't good enough. I think JT will be okay for next season, but 18 months down the line we definitely have to be looking at signing a potentially world-class centreback, like Subotic, Hummels, etc. David Luiz has been very good this season. He has had some horrible lapses in concentration which have/could have dearly cost us, definitely, but he has been showing tremendous signs of improvement and in a purely defensive sense - when he's not being stupid - he has been brilliant and certainly has the potential to be world-class

Absolutely. I think his absence from the team this season has somehow altered people's impression about this guy. That said, when were trying to score, I definitely prefer him coming on as a sub instead of Malouda.

KDB will probably be the only signing. I'm devastated tbh I really thought we'd get an attacking midfielder/winger in this transfer window. Our midfield is dreadful and most of the blame re: lack of creativity falls on them. And with Ramires now facing a month out..... our energy is gone.
