  1. True, but it was the Jan transfer window, and we needed a striker who wouldn't take long to adapt to the PL. All the other strikers, including Neymar and Aguero were coming from different leagues. Of course it was a panic buy, but we didn't have much choice back then.
  2. I just hope our "pals" at the FA don't pay attention to that..
  3. True...the only other striker in contention at that point in time was Aguero, but that's a different matter..Cavani and Falcao were not exactly in the frame then
  4. Rooney can also serve as source of supply. If they're playing, Mikel, Ramires and Oscar will all have to work very hard.
  5. Whether its the truth or not, I just wish he would shut up. These agents are making the game less bearable...
  6. He doesn't like straying outside the comfort zone. The starting eleven doesn't change much except for maybe Cahill for Luiz or Lampard for Oscar. I suppose it was necessary though, in order to build up the team chemistry. That's important when playing against tough opposition. Hopefully from now on (after the Man Utd PL game) we'll see more rotation. Hopefully more width rather than always playing through the middle.
  7. I just wish he would ring in the changes faster when we're in dire situations..like when we were 2-0 down yesterday and 3-0 down against Athletico..
  8. Sturridge's pace could exploit United's leaky defense..hopefully he'll play a part.
  9. When he does, we'll have to look for new targets..like Manpe said, not every player can play at the highest level beyond 30+
  10. On the bright side, the reverse fixture against Shaktar is coming up next in the CL...It would have been hellish to play that one last, when its obviously going to be a crunch fixture...And the final game is at home against Nordsjaelland.. Then there's the Juventus game in between..Hopefully we can come away with a result there, making it easier..
  11. Sturridge for Oscar/Torres,..should've capitalized on some half-chances in that first half.
  12. Basically confirms what Seb was saying all along regarding his attitude..
  13. He'll have a part to play this season, even if it isn't a very big one.
  14. Agreed and also, it makes it easier for other teams to figure your attack out. That's what happened when we kept playing Malouda, Drogba and Anelka over and over in 2011. Rotation is important.
  15. The entire interview is pretty interesting: From: http://www.thesun.co...l#ixzz29tRoRXB4
  16. BluesMaster...you really should change your avatar to this one:
  17. Gunter glieben glauchen globen I always wanted to know how to spell that...
  18. That sucks..especially if you're watching from college..so I guess you'll be streaming it?
  19. You mean the club wanted him to get out. The club was letting Malouda know their intentions by dumping him in the reserves, but there are better ways to treat someone who has contributed to the trophy haul. It was after all the club's decision to even let him stay this long with that contract extension.
  20. You're right when you say that the next few games against Spurs and United could be crucial for him. Torres in his prime never had trouble scoring against top opposition. He regularly caused problems for Chelsea and Man Utd defenders. This season he's already notched one against city and was a nuisance for Arsenal, so there are good signs. I just hope he can maintain the same level of work rate he has put in so far.
  21. It would make sense for Terry to appeal and make himself available for the Spurs and United games, but Chelsea tend to perform better under pressure.
  22. There's nothing wrong with the club's policy on contracts for players who're 30+...That being said, players like Alex, Anelka and Malouda could have been treated much better. I don't remember Ballack or Drogba being dumped in the reserves during their last few days at the club.
  23. Drogba and team attacked after he scored his second to put Ivory Coast 2-0 up: http://www.thesun.co...-fan-riots.html Security guards prevented some loon from getting to Drogba though...
