Check this out. Nearly 10 minutes of glorious playmaking.
-
Phew. Sooner we move on, the better
-
If we have to end up choosing between James or Gusto to play at LB when Hato is being rotated, I'd rather it be James. Gusto doesn't do well when playing out of position, especially on the opposite flank.
-
Yes, for the 2nd goal. Tell me that Gusto wasn't supposed to track the no.19 player who eventually scored. IMO., he lost his man and could have done better. He could've gone for the ball or gone for the man. He did neither and just stood there watching the action like our defenders usually do.
-
Still think Gusto should have helped Josh out there, by covering the goal scorer. Gusto, when on form is great, but like I said before- low footballing IQ. He stood there ball watching the entire time and ignored his man ghosting past and scoring. Doubt this would've happened if James was playing.

Still unbeaten in 5, and 4 wins. Will take that. Annoying that the draw came in this fixture. As long as Rosenior can grind a positive result or two against the bigger teams, a top 5 finish should be secure.
-
Yeah, if nothing else Rosenior has shown he can get the expected results against the sides we are expected to beat. Long may it continue. From a league perspective, that's the least we can ask for in order to secure top 4. That's the bar with this Clearlake side.
-
So far under Rosenior, we've managed to beat all the teams we're expected to beat. Hope they keep that streak going. And hopefully this time there won't be too many surprises in the starting lineup.
-
I know what you said, and IMO he's not even in the same playing field., so its pointless even bringing that up. There are some similarities, but there's far more he needs to do be considered in that bracket. If you count just the free kicks, setpiece delivery and defensive headers that Drogba contributes, that alone puts him far ahead of Pedro. Pointless comparison really. You're only making Joao Pedro look bad with your hyperbole.
-
And there we go. Again with the insults.
-
And some of us don't post hyperbole match after match. You can have your opinion without trying trying to gaslight people into people thinking about something thats not even true. I'm not saying Joao Pedro sucks. Far from it. I literally posted thanks for his goals in the last Premier league match. But I dont have to gaslight people into thinking he's much better than he really is. I didn't really care much for your hyperbole at first, but when you keep banging on and on about it and then attack other members for having a different opinion, then I'm sorry. Its very rich coming from you.
-
Chelsea didn't put a foot wrong today, but not much to write about either in terms of attacking play. Guess that also settles the Joao Pedro - Drogba comparisons. Good player and he will do a job for us this season, but a WC team will need more from its strikers, especially against the toughest defenses.
-
Didn't really care about how the match was going until Havertz decided to act like a knobhead at the end. Anyway. We've done worse to them. Giroud laughing and thanking Arsenal after the Europa league win is far more eye catching.
-
I got excited for a bit, and then I remembered it was only on loan.
-
I dont think any of them close., including Lukaku IMO. Drogba had it all. Attacking corners, defending corners, taking corners, taking direct free kicks, crosses from either wing with both left or right foot, long shots from outside the box, goals taken on the pivot, bringing down long passes from the goalkeeper, diving headers, bullet headers, penalties, the ability to play quick 1-2's with likes of Lampard and Hazard...the list goes on and on. Even if we ignore all the goals, he brings value to the team. This video from 2011 season, which was still a mediocre one from Drogba, shows what he can do even without scoring
-
Tbf, he was only saying the closest player we've had since. But I agree. There are several more levels to get to Didier Drogba. Its like a mountain.
-
He's doing very, very well since start of the year. Do it against Arsenal in the upcoming cup game & that will be as Drogba-like as it can get.
-
Garnacho probably grouchy because he was probably expecting to start against Arsenal in the cup game, given the goals he scored in the first fixture. Moody player, and we knew that when getting him. Either he bucks up or he goes the way of Jadon Sancho.
-
I've said the same for Maresca too. Rotating the squad to grant minutes to specific players when possible, managing player minutes to prevent injury, those are more to do with club's policy and less to do with the manager. Managing player minutes to prevent injury is of course understandable when you have high caliber players like James and Palmer that you need to wrap them in wool. But the strange rotation, bringing in lackluster players like Tosin or Badiashile back into the line up, thats something we saw under Maresca too, when he would seemingly sacrifice the league game for a midweek cup fixture. I'm not calling Rosenior world class, but he has one saving grace, and that is correcting all the errors sooner rather than later. How many times have we seen Maresca wait till the 70th minute or later to even make 1 or 2 subs? In the end, regardless of who the manager is, we'll continue to see these large scale rotations with matches in the midweek. Thats the club policy.
-
The rotation is down to the directors and their strategy, not Rosenior. Thankfully Rosenior, unlike Maresca, is not afraid to make the big subs and make changes quickly.

West Ham should have got at least 2 more red cards.
