Another newspaper rumor: http://www.calciomercato.it/news/223232/Calciomercato-Roma-ESCLUSIVO-il-Chelsea-in-pressing-su-De-Rossi.html
-
Hopefully (as usual) it will look better on the players..
-
I don't get it either, but I can understand it when people say 50 million is too big an amount to pay. The Italian club looks like its inflating his transfer value to maximize their profits,...even the player himself has admitted he's not worth that much.
-
Maybe Ancelloti's not Alex Ferguson, but with all the Steve Bruce's and Jorge Jesus's out there its going too far to call him "AVERAGE".. Personally I liked how he managed the team when he was here. I don't think we've played better football since 09-10, and that's saying something, considering the creative talent we added last season.
-
Off-topic: You said it yourself Alex, that romantic image applied to Drogba before 2010 when he was in his prime. You always remember players when they're at their best. And at his best he was a hard-working, albeit moody, striker
-
It starts with twitter bullshit, then radio bullshit, following that newspaper and website bullshit and before you know it.....
-
Fair play to him for admitting his mistakes.
-
Believe me, I know what his actual form is, but numbers are what most people go by these days, and years from now numbers will be what most people remember as that's the only thing that will be recorded. His record, incredible as it seems, will now most likely include another golden boot, in addition to the one he got last year..and he also remains his nation's 3rd highest goal scorer. His record is what I stressed in both my previous posts, which is why I feel he has an argument when he says 'I have nothing to prove' for the national team.
-
I don't think too many people, besides the obvious fanboys, will quickly forget what happened before that...What it shows is that a scenario with him remaining with us this season may not be as bad as it sounds... And like I said earlier, irrespective of his club form, his record with the national team, even by recent standards, remains good. It has little to do with how his form for Chelsea is, and vice versa.
-
On similar lines, I knew that Didier Drogba would outshine Torres after he came to Chelsea, showing what exactly a complete forward really is..
-
If Rooney DID leave Utd, I'm pretty sure Chelsea would be the place he would want to go...He gets along well with Cole, Lampard and Terry..and he admires players like Torres (yes, him too) and Hazard..He's also a player Mourinho likes, ..I can't say anything too negative about this transfer..
-
Tbf, Mikel did not have much match practice coming into the final, so he had a slim chance of starting anyway...
-
At club level yes, but his record for the national team has been decent..when you look at the goals to appearance ratio at least.
-
I don't see what's 'shit' about what he said. His record with the national team has pretty much been solid..he doesn't have anything to prove.
-
Does that apply to individual team fixtures as well? Or just to the complete fixture list for all teams?
-
I heard Aquilani and Pirlo played terribly? In that case its unfair to expect De Rossi to make amends on his own...

Chelsea to hold talks over Edinson Cavani's transfer from Napoli in the next 24 hours: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfers-edinson-cavani-talks-1962257
-
Considering some of the arguments you gave for not signing Cavani and giving Lukaku a chance, I'm surprised you would say something like this.. Luiz is part of the team's identity... In any case, any transfer rumor is void at this point...considering our manager hasn't even met the players in person yet.
-
Back when Carlo used his diamond formation, I used to think Mikel could serve as an option for the head of the diamond behind the 2 strikers, with his quick passing and ability to hold the ball... But that was a LONG while ago...I don't think he's going to be changing his role, and I don't think we should go into the season being the first choice DM...Not unless we sign a quality CM to compliment him..
-
I agree with the rest of your post, but you're just stereotyping with Ramires there. The guy CAN do more than just run up and down the pitch.
-
Drogbanelkalouda sounds even better. Sorry, but couldn't resist going offtopic for this.
-
He would be younger than what Makelele was when we signed him. There's still a lot more time to go in this transfer window, so I wouldn't rule out anything just yet.
-
That's what I told you at the start of last season . He should have stayed here or at least at a club with players who make good attacking runs. Anyway, I couldn't agree more with the rest of your post. I just hope Jose can restore his confidence, cause its probably been shot to pieces after last season.
