LOL not even the people i know who support Newcastle rate Danny Simpson, he is considered a weak link of that team.
-
I would take Torres any day of the week over Dzeko.
-
Those players are monitored by every big club, it is not like they were hidden gems or anything. City has the money and those players were brought.
-
I would be shocked if he goes for anything over 30m. OT: I don't know where Hazard lands but for me the transfer fee that gets tossed around is a lot and a huge risk. Seen Hazard on a number of occasions he is not consistent and hasn't proven anything outside of Ligue 1. He may be worth 40m or whatever the transfer fee end up one day but at the moment he is not worth it. I am a firm believer that you pay based on the current product he produces, not what he potentially he can produce. I am not convinced that Hazard is that much better than Stevan Jovetic, who we can sign for half of the price Hazard will go for.

Isn't Piszczek on the verge of signing with Real Madrid? fantastic RWB i would gladly take him at Chelsea.
-
He was abysmal, and caused two of those goals by himself. Easily the worst player on the pitch, and the effort he gave was the worst part about it. He was getting nutmeg left and right. The effort he gave was unacceptable, and at least Hutchinson would have tried harder.
-
Anybody else very disappointed that he did not sub Terry? For me this was an occasion to show that he has command of the locker room and that he will bench any player if they don't perform. Terry was having a shocking game, he should've been benched simply put. This is a concern for me, i feel he is too much of "yes man" to effectively manage Chelsea in the long run.

We need someone to alternate with Lampard, our midfield looks pretty bad without him. Obviously the lack of wing player is well noted.
-
You can't compare player A to B solely best on trophies, you have to look deeper. Trophies cant be the whole argument, but it is definitely half of the argument.
-
So apparently his agent has told Valencia FC that Van Der Wiel would sign for another club. For some reason i see him signing with us. I don't really rate him, but he is excellent going forward.
-
I thought he was our most consistent player today, i thought he did good job of breaking up plays in the back and provided some nice outlets of passing. He is not scoring as many goals as he was earlier in the season, but he is contributing a lot more in his new role.
-
Talk about the worst possible replacement for Drogba. You go from a guy known for his big game heroics, to guy who who absolutely disappears when you need him the most. Imagine if Falcao had the same service as Higuain has at Real Madrid.
-
Not sure if he will duplicate the succes he has had, but he will still be very very good. As for Cesc, he did somewhat well in the beginning of the season. But overall it was a bad signing, didn't like how Pep changed his tactics and formation to accommodate for Cesc in the squad. I believe it was one of the reason for their disappointing season. I earlier( few pages back) made the reference to those two because i think he is best suited to play in similar position as those two play. In that he is playmaking CM, and could be best utilized in the flat 4-3-3. I didn't say he is the next Xavi/Ineista, i only implied he is Barcaesque because of his movement and vision.
-
Cesc hasn't been that good for Barcelona, anyone who watches Barcelona on a regular basis would tell you that. Dont let the stats mislead you. I also completely disagree on Xavi, you cant say he wouldn't be successful in the PL. The man has proven himself at every level and has won everything. He has been equally good in the CL, and in the international scenes. It is not like he has only proven himself in La Liga.
-
I believe with the rich talent we have at CB and coming up i believe his future is in midfield.
-
Would prefer Alex Witsel tbh even though i rate Fellaini. Witsel is more attack minded, creative, and technical.
-
I firmly believe RDM will get the job, but if Pep Guardiola is available then is there no chance Roman pass up the opportunity to sign him. Roman loves Barca football way too much, he will sign him if Pep wants to continue managing. \

Or the fact it is very diffucult to break into a team with a very good midfield. Also Josh has not played many games this season, he is in august- september fitness rather then late season. He didn't play much for the Reserves either. Lets not forget Gylfi Siguosson presence either, he was signed because of AVB indecisiveness. He is very gifted player and who i have rated for a while. He is better then Josh atm and in better fitness. For me Josh best position is the Lampard role in our traditional 4-3-3. He is not a #10, he is more like Iniesta and Xavi rather Silva and Mata.
-
Consider how bad Essien is currently, i would still take him over Diarra. Also Diarra is not really a DM, he is more of a B2B midfielder rather then a DM. Mikel is very capable in the DM role, we should find someone beside Lampard to play along side him in the double pivot role. We also have Romeu, who is a good backup to Mikel. We need technical and creative midfielders, not more runners.
-
Lampard has done that role really well since RDM appointment, absolutely no need to splash 35M+ on a player that i doubt is even an improvement over Lampard. I don't rate Modric and haven't done so in 2 years. I was a fan before VDV signing, in Spuds formation VDV occupy the space that Modric used to run into and create his magic. Players like Borja Valero and Ever Banega would be my preference.
-
I don't even rate him as a midfielder, in our best patch run of games he has played exclusively as a winger. For me he is much more effective as a winger.
-
You are not the only one, but i have seen others do the same. No way would Ramires work in the double pivot role. Not once has he played in that role under RDM.
-
Pep makes sense, if he doesn't resign with Barca. I am pretty sure Roman will do everything to make him the next Chelsea manager, knowing his great admiration for Barca football style.

Chelsea to play Bayern Munich in the Final
Joker10 replied to James's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Bayern Munich it is, seriously you guys are underrating them. -
The one to Kalou was also pretty good, if Kalou showed more awareness it could've been another goal. He can prolong his career and play at a high level, in his new deeper role in midfield.
