Well AVB was brought in because of his attractive football, i am guessing and most likely Roman still envisions a more attractive and attacking Chelsea football brand in the future. Is RDM one to bring in attractive football to Chelsea? I don't think so.
-
His runs has nothing to do with intelligence, it is due to his energy and speed. His speed is up there with any player in the PL. His decision making and intelligence is probably his worst attributes.
-
Anybody else prefers him on the the wing then midfield? I believe RDM has done it right by playing him on the wings rather then midfield.
-
speaking of overrated players, seriously can't understand why Modric is rated so highly. Not based on today poor performance, but i have said this plenty of times.
-
Does Ramires have a brain?
-
I would say Jose Enrique is miles better defensively and a tad better going forward.
-
Seriously you have to be kidding? He is not even the best Spanish LB.
-
tbh i am not that surprised by how his loan spell has went so far, first reason being Swansea signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson. He is a quality player and rated him for a while now. Second Josh has not played that much football this season, not for the senior squad or the Reserves for that matter. His fitness is nowhere near the level that it should at this stage of the season. I blame AVB and the board, blame should not be placed on Rodgers or Josh.

the jurno seems kinda legit, he was spot on about Mata and he was the first one to report our interest in Pereira. keyword "kinda."
-
Same for me, quite sure the EPL hasn't seen a player with his blend of skills.
-
He has massive potentials, but injuries concern me.
-
They had a lot of injuries to start the season, and plus some players drastically lost form. Not saying that he didn't do a bad job, just saying a lot of circumstances played a part in Inter bad start. I think you only have to look at us to understand what happened to Inter. Don't know if signing Rafa would be a good choice or not, tbh i haven't thought much about it.
-
Rafa wouldn't be my first choice, or second hell probably not even 3rd or 4th. But you can't deny that Rafa is a great manager, most definitely one of the best in the world. He was unlucky with Inter, they had injuries plus some players played out of their mind the previous year when they won the treble. Kinda like how Florent played in the double winning season, Malouda will never show the same form he did that year and same goes for those players. Also if there is one manager that can get the best of Torres, it is most definitely rafa.
-
kinda misleading, for example yeah Lampard played in the Napoli game, but he came on when we were losing 3-1 and game was pretty much decided. He didn't start in the Aston Villa loss either. although it is a great stat for the whole blame Lampard theory. You don't know the full story, and you really can't understand what really happened between him and AVB. People are exaggerating in trying to defend our worst manager in the last 15 years. Players like Alex told another story on what went on between Lampard and AVB, he cited that AVB disrespected Lampard and treated him unfairly. Also Zola said something similar to that.
-
he put in a similar performance against Bolton not to long ago. and maybe RDM is putting him in a better position to succeed.
-
Almost every manager in the world will be interested. Rodgers made that comment fully knowing that he has no chance of managing Chelsea.
-
Lampard is severely criticized for his comments. Any great competitive player would react the same way. What do you expect when a player like Lampard who has been part of the club best moments, and then find himself on the bench for the first time in his chelsea career at a time when the club is in its worst state? AVB showed that he is incompetent, and the stats show that. If the team was wining and higher in the table, we might see a better attitude from Lampard. He would understand its in the best interest of the team. AVB has only himself to blame for his players undermining him. I don't think it is even arguable, the right decision was made by Roman and the board. If i was defending AVB in front of Roman i have no idea how i could defend him. Cant say the team is going in the right direction and going through a transition. Because this season was not a transition, more of a wasted season tbh. He tried his playing style then bailed out for our old playing style. So most of the season was zero progress, if he kept the same playing style it would be much better for next season and beyond. Also with AVB as manager, very unlikely to have any chance of finishing in the top 4 season. CL is a big money maker for us, and it easily pays off AVB compensation.
-
I don't know if this was posted, but AVB has the worst record as a Chelsea manager in the last 15 years. Guus Hiddink Win Rate 73% P22 W16 D5 L1 F41 A19 Jose Mourinho Win Rate 68% P182 W123 D39 L20 F326 A115 Avram Grant Win Rate 67% P54 W36 D13 L5 F97 A36 Carlo Ancelotti Win Rate 63% P107 W67 D19 L21 F238 A89 Phil Scolari Win Rate 56% P36 W20 D11 L5 F66 A24 Claudio Ranieri Win Rate 53% P197 W105 D46 L46 F353 A197 Gianluca Vialli Win Rate 53% P140 W74 D37 L29 F219 A123 Ruud Gullit Win rate 50% P82 W41 D17 L24 F157 A108 AVB Win rate 49% P39 W19 D11 L9 F69 A42 No doubt you guys are going to continue blame Lampard for his sacking.
-
He would be perfect, he will kick out the old guards.
-
dropping the high line + high pressure+ possession football was a mistake, he should've stuck with his philosophy. If he had done that i could've defended him and say this is a transition year. But under pressure he reverted back to the old Chelsea style. Results didn't get any better and he made absolute no progress on the pitch, no young players on the pitch either. If this was a transition year then i would defend AVB, but this season was a complete waste. Either you are competing for trophies or making progression for next season and beyond. You can't do neither, like AVB did this season. I ask everyone the question, if you were to defend AVB and convince the board into giving him another season, what would be your argument?
-
Busquets is not underrated, i have considered him the best DM in the world for a while now. And only EPL fans in general underrate him because they rate DM based on how hard one tackle. You show lack of knowledge if you consider Romeu anything like Busquets, they are nothing a like. Busquets biggest strengths are his positioning and movement off the ball. Romeu is nowhere close in these areas. Fact is Romeu would never get significant time in midfield at Barca, he would most likely be competing as a CB. If Barca ever buys him back, it will most likely be at that area. Not saying he is never going to be good enough, just saying he is seriously overrated atm. Your post proves my point.
-
It wasn't only because of Torres signing, but more to the fact he played as a Second Striker. The best team Gerrard has been on was the 08/09 team, and you could argue that Xabi Alonso was their best midfielder.
-
Gerrard is the more complete player, but Lampard is the better attacking/offensive midfielder.
-
tbf even AVB has hinted their being a rift between him and Lampard.
-
I see some are not giving Lampard the credit he deserves for a really good game, but then again those are same people who called him the Chelsea weak link. Raul has played Lampard position on many occasions.
