Evidently so. Which is a mistake, imo. Yes, I expect him to improve but do I think he’ll become a lethal goal scorer at the Haaland/Kane/Salah/Mané level at any point? Hell no! Jackson is the perfect #2 striker for a club of our stature. Not the main guy.
-
Chelsea Football Club out here trying to spend big money on strikers that aren’t even key players at small clubs, man. WTF is going on… How the hell was this last season not all the evidence that our ownership needed to see that having a super inexperienced young team is going to be WILDLY up and down? Instead they’re doubling or even tripling down on teenagers! It’s as if they’re planning for 5 years from now instead of the next season! Do they not realize how damaging it would be for us both on and off the pitch if we have another poor season and don’t get UCL football back?
-
We already have a young, inconsistent striker and yet we’re after multiple other young, inconsistent strikers. Make it make sense! Looks like United are doing the same. Their fans complained all season that Rasmus Hojlund was too raw and inconsistent and that they need to sign an experienced striker in the summer for him to rotate with and learn from. So instead they’re now going after Zirkzee who is the same profile as Rasmus is.
-
Literally never heard the name before 🤣🤣🤣
-
Yeah, don’t know how or why any Chelsea fan would care about this Pedro Lima kid going elsewhere. Reece & Malo Gusto are both excellent and both young. The kid had no pathway to the first team anytime soon anyways. Makes perfect sense that he goes to a team that’s basically all Portuguese speaking where he can play more.
-
Both De Ligt and De Jong were these super hyped up young Dutchman a couple of years ago and neither has come close to living up to that hype. They’re simply okay players.

Serie A is indeed dogshit these days and I agree that it’d be super risky buying Kvara or Leão for mega money and expecting them to dominate like they do in Italy here in the PL. But Chiesa I think would absolutely kill it in England. He has the perfect game to translate well. I’d take him in a millisecond at Chelsea. Fabrizio saying once again this morning that it’s not 100% that he’ll be staying at Juve if a serious offer goes in, btw…. 👀 If the club is determined to go big in a wide attacker this summer I’d personally choose Chiesa over Olise.
-
Pissing off De Laurentiis probably isn’t the best idea. Kvara may not get out of there until his contract runs down now.
-
Not only would Kvara cost 100m but the quotes that Fabrizio tweeted made it sound like he only wants to go to a CL club. I think PSG have been linked so that’s likely where he’s eyeing.

Yep. I’m assuming we’re playing with 2 CB’s in a back 4. In which case Tosin, Fofana, and Disasi as options on the right and Colwill + Badiashile as options on the left seems like plenty. And that’s assuming Trev is sold. Buying a top young talent like Calafiori when we’ve already got a top young talent in his position like Colwill doesn’t make much sense unless you’re going to use one of them in one of those unconventional roles.
-
Calafiori is a LCB, right? I don’t see why we’d be after someone of his profile when we’ve got Colwill and Badiashile. The latter isn’t good enough to be an every match starter but Badiashile is perfectly fine as a squad/rotation option. Unless Maresca is going to play a back 3 I don’t think we need anymore CB signings this summer.

Wonder what’s happening with Duran and Olise. Things looked to be really heating up a few days ago and now nothing since.
-
Looks excellent on YouTube this last season. Classic big #9 but surprisingly good with the ball at his feet. Problem is he’s 28 (so therefore not what Clearlake go for) and that he would go to AFCON just like Nico Jackson will. So losing both of our strikers at the same time is a no-no.
-
Don’t know how to post a video on this forum! 😅 It’s from the channel SVMM. It’s 16 minutes long.
-
Okay, just watched a new, much longer YouTube video of Estevão and came away MUCH more convinced about him. The previous videos I watched of him made question if he was actually worthy of the hype and excitement. He didn’t look that special to me before. But now I’m legit excited about him coming next summer. What’s crazy is that as impressed as I now am with Estevão, Kendry Paez looks even better. The phrase “generational talent” gets thrown around too loosely these days but he looks like one. A superstar in the making if he is coached right and settles well. His close control, ability to dribble multiple players, and most of all his confidence at age 16/17 is insane. Really makes me wonder why we’re going out and potentially dropping £60m+ on Olise when these two are waiting in the wings. Unless there’s a big clear out of wide attackers planned with Sterling, Madueke, and Mudryk all going over the next 12 months.
-
So is it a loan back to Palmeiras or are we not actually paying them until next summer?
-
Has there been any reporting on what we’re going to do with Estevão until next year? He just staying at Palmeiras until then?
-
Oh, I’m definitely not saying he’d want to come back here. Just that if he ever felt like moving clubs his options are extremely limited unless he runs his contract all the way down. But I don’t think he ever leaves Bayern unless it’s for Real Madrid years from now when he gets bored of the Bundesliga.
-
Feels like there’s a lot of revisionism here about Mudryk. Madueke I agree with because he looked pretty average before we even bought him and expectations were pretty lukewarm. But Mudryk was absolutely awesome before we bought him. He looked like a genuine super talent. He’s got the physical tools still to be a monster winger if he can regain his confidence. Mudryk is a lot like Timo Werner in that they both had amazing seasons where they looked like worldies and then as soon as they moved to Chelsea they look super timid and lose all confidence. I don’t know why we have such shit luck like that. Still, I definitely don’t think we should give up on him.
-
In years past I’d agree, but in this day and age of PSR and sustainability this and that there are probably only like 4-5 clubs in the world that could theoretically afford these players. And despite our currently diminished position we’re one of them. Even Real Madrid won’t go out and pay 100m for anyone these days and Barca are bankrupt. Bayern don’t spend mega money on players to that degree. Really just leaves PSG and 3-4 PL clubs.
-
And they probably would be if we weren’t already well stocked in that #10 area with Nkunku & Palmer. Both Musiala and Wirtz are probably the next £100m players when/if they move. Musiala is probably impossible for anyone other than Real Madrid when his contract runs down a bit. Wirtz we would probably be after if we had room for him. Fits the Clearlake blueprint.
-
In order to play this front 4 we’d have to play the Enzo/Caicedo midfield again which we’ve seen isn’t the best defensively. I think Maresca will want to play 3 in midfield with a proper DM.
-
Was wondering this myself. How do you get all 3 in the same team unless 2 of the 3 play in positions they aren’t best in? Putting Palmer or Olise on the right wing negates their most dangerous move which is cutting in on their wand of a left foot and shooting/crossing. And Nkunku centrally where we’ll be facing parked busses feels like a waste too.
-
He’s the closest thing to Mahrez there is. So if City decide to move for him you’re right, it’s over.
-
Perhaps the fact that we tried hard for him last summer will be the decisive advantage for us. Shows that the club really want and value him. But what happens if we offer him let’s say £120-150k per week and United/City/Arse/Liverpool offer him £200-250k per week? Double the wages and UCL football feels like it would be super hard to turn down.
