Dewsbury Hall in for £30-35m whilst selling Gallagher for £50m or more would be excellent business for me. The former is proven to be picture perfect under our new manager and is miles better from a technical POV than Gallagher. The idea of seeing Gallagher trying to play one touch, tiki taka football makes me cringe a bit tbh. He’s someone who needs to just be “unleashed” and allowed to run around like a madman. That’s not what we need anymore.
-
More “pure profit” I guess. 🤦♂️
-
I fucking swear to god I was just thinking yesterday that it was strange we hadn’t been linked with Dewsbury Hall yet with the Maresca connection. Now lo and behold….! 🤣🤣🤣 I really like him. He’s super tidy on the ball and very decisive. Trouble is, where tf would he slot into our team?!
-
Especially as we’re ALSO negotiating for another young South American “super talent” at CB as we speak in Anselmino. And from what I can see in the YouTube footage he does look legit great unlike some of the other teenagers we’ve bought recently.
-
Murillo does look insanely good on the ball for a CB tbf. In fact, his game reminds me almost exactly of Gvardiol’s. Same dribbling style, same bombing forward carrying the ball, same super aggressive tackling. But as I said yesterday I don’t know what the point in having all 3 of Colwill, Badiashile, AND Murillo who all occupy the same area. Unless the plan is different under Maresca than we all think and we’ll be primarily playing a back 3 rather than with 2 CB’s and we need an extra CB for depth.
-
Us targeting another left footed CB makes zero sense to me. Especially one for £50m+. We want to do so next summer if Badiashile is moved on, fine. But I doubt we’re selling him so it’s Colwill and him for that role. Adding a third LCB is overkill.

If this journalist would’ve at least suggested another one of these sketchy PSR deals between us and Newcastle where we sign Isak for a crazy fee and then they buy one of our players for an inflated fee it would’ve been more believable.
-
I don’t know what’s sillier, looking at our summer so far in which we’ve walked away from numerous deals because the prices were too high and thinking we’d then go and spend £100m+ on Isak or thinking thinking Newcastle would sell their best player to a club they will see as a direct rival for top 4.

Lukaku seems like the absolute prototype Saudi league target if you could create one in a lab. Big star name, scores a boat load of goals in poorer leagues, is a mercenary of the highest order, and he can get the Saudi fans really excited to go watch him. Really don’t get how there aren’t 3-4 different Saudi clubs making offers. Especially after De Bruyne basically came out and telegraphed that he’s off there as soon as his City contract runs down this time next summer. If you’re a Saudi club you can bring the 2 biggest stars from the Belgium national team who are still at a decent age and not only dominate the league but excite your supporters.
-
Just fyi, that video isn’t actually Marc Guiu apparently.
-
Didn’t Ugarte kind of flop at PSG after all the hype last summer?
-
I would hope this new wage structure means we won’t be dumb enough to give this kid silly wages like we did Sarr. Isn’t he in 100k a week or something obscene? That’s some sackable shit.
-
🤣 For this cheap of a price it’s literally a no lose situation for us. Unless the kid is the only striker we buy this summer, that is. Even if he is underwhelming we’ll be able to at least double the £5m from some Spanish club. If he blossoms here we’ve got someone with top potential for the change between our sofa cushions.
-
We should just be glad that the club is spending only £5m on this kid than £40m on Duran, I guess. 🤷♂️
-
And btw, I’ll be super pissed off if we bin off the previous Villa lad Carney and replace him in the first team squad with this guy. A fit Chukwameka looked super promising and could be great in an intricate, possession based team.
-
If he cost 5 or even 10 million I could sort of understand it. We buy low, hope he has a super successful loan at a smaller PL or Championship side, and then sell him for double what we paid for him. But at £19m how can that possibly happen here? How can we expect to make a profit on a kid this expensive unless he stays with the first team and looks super impressive? It just doesn’t make sense at all.
-
Yeah, I don’t get the Kellyman thing at all whatsoever either. It’s clearly strictly PSR related. But if we needed to do a PSR deal with one of Villa’s players I’m not sure why we wouldn’t do one for a player in a position of need. Besides the crazy price, I just have no clue where this kid fits into the team.
-
It’s really hard to judge him based off of YouTube footage because it’s entirely against youth competition. Where he does look pretty impressive in terms of the physical tools. Looks fairly polished for someone his age as a big, physical striker. But how will he do when he’s up against dramatically better competition? Who tf knows? 🤷♂️ It’s exactly the same with this kid from Villa we’re buying. All the footage is against other kids so it’s difficult to properly access him. These 2 don’t really explode off the screen like Estevão & Kendry Paez do for example.
-
This is a good thing. Won’t be going to United in that case.
-
Yep. Instantly thought that was the case when I saw that “it’s not all agreed just yet.” He wants Barca to show that they really want to keep him so he’s suing us to get that. This’ll be yet another thing in recent weeks that Fabrizio will have been wrong on. It’s unlike him to be this unreliable. His desire to get scoops first to uphold his image is getting in the way of getting things correct first and foremost.
-
If Guarassy does indeed go to Arse he’s going to bag a lot goals. He or David would be the ideal striker signing for us. Would be super annoying if both end up elsewhere in the PL while we sign a couple of teenagers. Entering the season with Jackson & a teenager from Barca who will have never played at this level would be madness.
-
That low of a price for David surely means that 2-3 other PL clubs will want to move for him. Spuds and United seem likely to try, imo. That Beier kid from Hoffenheim looks completely bang average on YouTube. And that’s meant to make any decent player look like a star. I’m more impressed with a bunch of our teenage prospects than I am him.
-
Again, I wonder why the hell one of La Masia’s current most promising talents who Barca fans seem to rate and want to keep would want to leave Spain at such a young age and agree to be loaned out to Strasbourg. Feels really, really weird. You’d think he’d be signing a new Barca contract and asking to be sent on loan to a smaller La Liga side to gain experience in the comfort of Spanish football.
-
I wonder if this Barca kid is the Duran alternative and we can still get Jonathan David as the main competition for Nico Jackson. That I suppose would make a bit more sense.
