  1. Always liked Chilly as a personality and loved watching him at his best in that UCL winning season before he got injured when he was flying up and down the wing. So it’s sad to see his Chelsea career never really recover. But it is right that we move on. Ideally it’s not to someone who can hurt us since I do think there’s still a very decent wingback in there.
  2. Now that we have Neto and are chasing Felix, how the FUCK would it make an ounce of sense for us to also be after yet another winger? I’m calling bullshit here. Chiesa is someone who was probably one we looked at as an alternative to Neto.
  3. United for me look like a team that will win a LOT of games against weak teams in jammy ways like we just saw. But from a stylistic and team selection POV I really don’t think Ten Hag is going to get them beating the other top teams. Their football just looks really…..basic I think is how I’d describe it? Doesn’t help when he keeps picking Mount, Rashford, Maguire etc.
  4. True. I’m not really impressed with any of their attackers bar Bruno (who I despise as a player but can admit is good) but they’re very direct and fast which causes lots of problems.
  5. Yep. Fulham have been pretty average here but still slightly better than United. But as is typical for the Manc’s they score a bail out goal out of nothing.
  6. I think he clearly is connected with agents and people within clubs so he definitely knows a lot. But what he has been guilty of this summer is reporting things as advanced far too soon. You can tell he does that so he’s first. As opposed to Ornstein who doesn’t care as much about being first but always waits until something is 99% before tweeting it out.
  7. See, this to me sounds like we’re indeed going to sell them Lukaku but we’re going to end up missing out on Osimhen because we’ll have wasted weeks trying to structure the deal in a way that was never going to be accepted. We need to stop fucking around and just pay them for a permanent move. A loan clearly isn’t happenening.
  8. Surely. I don’t even really rate him but some of those chances they created should’ve been certain goals. They looked like us in front of net last season with those point blank misses.
  9. United look okay on the ball but are badly missing their injured strikers. They do look super susceptible in midfield defensively, though. Fulham just don’t have anyone in there with the quality to exploit it.
  10. So really nothing new. Just pretty much mirroring what others have said all week. I will say, if we get a positive result against City and then follow it up next week by brining in Felix and Osimhen, wow. Everyone will be buzzing around the club.
  11. LMAO! I legit forgot about Kova! 🤦‍♂️
  12. My mind is kind of blanking right now. If Rodri is out and Kalvin Phillips is now off to Ipswich, I can’t even remember who is in their CM. What’s his face they bought from Wolves and KdB gonna play in CM against us, then?
  13. Ugo on loan to Southampton is a potentially great move for him. If they actually use him every match that could be massive for any future he has back here. If he does well but we don’t end up needing him we can probably get the Saints to buy him for £40m or something.
  14. I’m guessing it’s the latter which is why this shit is taking forever as we try to get him to accept an incentive based salary. Really weird how these Italian clubs (even the biggest ones) are all broke as a joke yet have these star players on mega wages. Like when Juve were paying CR7.
  15. In his mind (and most peoples minds before this past season where he dropped a level) he’s a superstar who deserves superstar wages. And tbf, “elite” goal scorers are rare and command huge wages. So I don’t really blame him for refusing to drop his salary.
  16. Jesus. How can it take a fucking week to agree on a player we obviously want to sell badly and a player they want rid of badly? It’s just like Lukaku/Osimhen/Napoli. We know Lukaku badly wants Napoli, Napoli badly wants Lukaku, and Napoli have already said multiple times that they’ve agreed Osimhen can go. So wtf is going on? Are we making insulting offers that will never be accepted or are the other clubs making insulting demands? Whatever it is, it’s fucking annoying.
  17. wtf does one have to do with the other? Neres and Lukaku don’t play the same position and aren’t similar even a little bit.
  18. Worth a shot if they’re willing to accept a reasonable Lukaku + cash offer. As long as we aren’t paying anywhere close to the £100m they were asking for earlier then it’s probably a gamble worth taking.
  19. As an Osimhen skeptic I’m kind of coming around on him for one simple reason: I think he’d be a big help in those countless matches we’ve been in in recent seasons where we completely dominate lesser opponents but because they’re sitting deep and parking the bus we couldn’t break through. Those very kinds of matches cost us top 4 last season in hindsight. With Osimhen being a beast in the air and a top penalty area finisher he could 100% help in those sorts of matches. I think he could feast against weaker opponents. Whether he performs against the top half teams and other Big 6 teams is what I’m skeptical about.
  20. Don’t believe anything you see if it ain’t Ornstein at this point. Even Fabrizio has been super spotty this summer. Especially for a deal/player as big as Osimhen. Doubt anything significant has changed.
  21. It’s fucking nuts that we are still totally in the dark about what’s happening with Gallagher.
  22. He has never and probably never will become the “carry a whole team on his back” sort of megastar that he was hyped up to be when Atleti bought him, that’s true. But for me he’s still a delightful player to watch and a supreme talent. I personally just look at him as a really, really good player who when surrounded by other really, really good players will shine. I don’t expect him to be that superstar anymore.
  23. As @YorkshireBluesays, Sterling infuriates me because of his signature “get the ball and run fail to beat his man” move. Raheem in top form is still a very dangerous player but most of the time he looks like he can’t be bothered. Even if he’s not scoring I’d rather have Felix out there than Sterling.
  24. This is what it comes down to for me. Would I rather see Sterling/Mudryk as options or João Felix? Felix BY FAR. But at least one of those has to be sold because we really don’t have room for Felix as it stands.
  25. Nah, in baseball the common thing is to trade a big haul of young prospects for a single superstar. I’m actually surprised we haven’t tried that yet! 🤣
