  1. Torres' play was on the way down before he moved here. Rooney had his "worst" season in years and that was while being played out of position and playing second fiddle to RvP. Yet he still put up stats similar to our best player.
  2. Completely agree with all if this. But I actually do think that if Rooney actually went to Moyes and told him that it's time for him to move on to a new challenge and that he wants a change in scenery that he'd be allowed to go. Not ideal for them to sell to a direct rival, but like the RvP signing, they'll get a nice chunk of change and be rid of an unhappy player. I'd happily have us spend £30m on him. He could be a title deciding transfer for us.
  3. If Rooney was played in his natural center forward position like RvP was he'd have scored loads more. He proved that the season before. If Rooney spearheaded an attack with Mata and Hazard behind him I'd bet a substantial amount of money that he'd be amongst the top scorers in the league. And unlike some of the huge money strikers we've been after, Rooney will also provide double digit assists and can play multiple positions.
  4. Anyone still hoping we move for Rooney? I'd rather buy Rooney who's proven for years that he can get it done in the premier league than spend double on Cavani. Just think a rejuvenated and hungry Rooney is a safer bet than splunking a massive fee on another gamble. Hope he's our priority.
  5. Yeah, those two will be big for us, I know. For all that talk about us spending a ton I just kinda expected us to go hard as soon as Jose was installed. Hopefully behind the scenes shit is going down.
  6. So Thiago seems imminent for United and City have already spent £50m with Isco apparently imminent. Both of their squads will look set and they'll have done their business this early. Meanwhile, our squad needs the most work of the 3 and we've yet to hear a single concrete link to a player. Only bs rumors and speculation. I'd have thought we'd be doing similarly and had our targets lined up to move quickly. Guess not.
  7. Should make them favorites again until we get to work in the window. Gutted to see such a good player for so cheap in a position they are in dire need of.
  8. That's it ladies and gents. 50m justified.
  9. Doubt anything will happen until after the tournament. And then even longer after that while he goes on his inevitable holiday. This'll draw on for a while I think.
  10. Addressing their biggest weakness for peanuts. Wasn't particularly worried about a United that may lose Rooney and has Moyes as manager, but if they fill their biggest need with one of the best players available at his position I'd be worried about them again. Still find it unbelievable that Barca wouldn't just assure him that he'll be featuring a lot next season and beyond. Immense talent.
  11. If we do indeed sell Mikel, buying Thiago and a proper DM to put next to him I actually wouldn't mind starting the season with our current strike force. Lukaku with players like Mata, Hazard, Oscar, de Bruyne, and Thiago supplying him would be bonkers.
  12. The more I watch him the less I think of him. If he didn't play for Brazil and his nickname wasn't Hulk I don't think anyone would have really even heard of him. He shows flashes of class but just isn't at all consistent and is a wildy frustrating player.
  13. I was just gonna ask. I popped the game on as he scored and was wondering how he's been otherwise.
  14. Thought the meeting was Thursday?
  15. I think it was Bild that also said Cavani would be announced alongside Jose. I could be wrong.
  16. Wasn't it Bild that reported we'd be signing him within days weeks ago? How would a German paper know about the goings on in Naples anyways?
  17. He can be our Modric. Receive the ball from defenders in the center and pull the strings linking defense and attack. Would fall in line with all of our recent buys. Young, world class potential and in a position of need. Just have to stick a disciplined DM next to him and allow him to work his magic.
  18. Imagine the look on both Manc teams supporters faces if he signs here after they were so certain he'd be in Manchester. His buyout clause is unbelievable if its true. That would be the steal of the century if he goes for 18m. Kind of hard to believe that if its that low, no one has paid it straight away. I think he'll either be at United or stay at Barca.
  19. He's a central midfielder. We could definitely use him. He'll probably be playing next to Carrick next season.
  20. I am. Thiago is awesome. Barca should be doing everything possible to convince him to stay.Would hate to see him go to United, but De Gea's probably already convinced him. We'll see City line up with Yaya & Fernandinho and United could line up with Carrick & Thiago in central midfield. This is our biggest problem area and I'd hate to see us get annihilated there again like we did even against poor sides last season.
  21. When he gets a personal phone call from Jose himself, he'll be in the bag. Be the main man at the front for Jose's Chelsea in front of Mata and Hazard or be just another guy at Madrid and share the spotlight with CR7 and the rest of the superstars.
  22. It's laughable that so many journalists and fans on other forums think we'd sell the best player in the Premier League and a fan favorite 2 years after buying him. Like we're a selling club like Spuds or Arse. And now people are saying Barca want him. Yeah, I'm sure Mata would love to emulate that feeling he has in the national team where he sits on the bench behind Xavi, Iniesta, and Pedro. K, Barca, you want him? £50m + Thiago.
  23. This saga is getting so fucking annoying. Wish we'd either pay up already or just forget him. Dread seeing him going to City, though. Imagine that side with Cavani, Isco, Navas, and Fernandinho added to it. Fucking hell.
