Fat Sam should have eyes like dinner plates right about now. Fellaini is probably his wet dream of a player. Fellaini up there with Carroll = Fat Sam doing this
-
That Jan akkkjjgjbyghb tweet was indeed from months ago. I remember it. Nothing in it.
-
Double his current wages at least. He's apparently on peanuts at Bayern.Don't care, really. He's not going to demand Yaya or Rooney wages. I think he'd be awesome here.
-
I'd rather have an all rounder too, but all of those that are of the class we need would cost double what Kroos would.
-
To your last point: exactly! If we needed pace and grit in midfield against sides like City or Liverpool or need to overpower a side we could play Ramires in there or Luiz if he's still around. Against sides that we struggled against this past season that park the bus or defend deep and LET US HAVE THE MAJORITY OF POSSESION Kroos could sit back and run the show just as he does at Bayern. Ramires is totally useless in those games.
-
Think it depends on where he's played. He'd be a pointless signing for all of us if we planned on using him as a false 9 or AM since all three sides are stacked in that department, but if he's used as a CM than he'd be great for any of United, Arsenal, or ourselves.
-
Top sides in the PL including ourselves WILL have the majority of possession in most of their games. Think Kroos would adapt very well to this league as long as he has players around him to mask his weaknesses which we have. For £20-25m there isn't anyone better out there.
-
Wow, lol. The Guardian now reporting that United have ending their pursuit of Kroos. Come on, José!
-
They actually have a manager now and obscene, "buying the league if it were anyone but United" type wages to offer.Guillem Ballbag seems pretty adamant that Barca would accept a bid of €40m. Can see both United and Arse paying that.
-
He says that the clause is definitely there but that it's up to him if he wants to go there. He won't be forced to.He goes on to say that United are likely favorites for him since they'd pay way more than anyone else.
-
If he moves it's back to Arsenal. Forgot they had that clause in his contract.
-
Exactly. We won't find anyone of his class out there for this cheap. We may see United go from having a bang average squad last season to one of the best basically overnight. Top class new manager, Kroos, Shaw, and obviously a few more big signings. We can offer Kroos more than they can currently in footballing terms. CL, better location, top manager, and a team who are much closer to winning things. We need Schürlle to have a word with him ASAP!
-
Another one off to United most likely. Crazy if we don't attempt to sign him. He's going to go for a ridiculously cheap price and be a steal if United get him.
-
People need to stop bringing up Lukaku. Totally different scenario. Lukaku is a striker and SHOULD have to compete for his place and prove that he's better than anyone we may bring in. Courtois HAS proven himself at the very top level and is arguably the best in his position in the world. It's one thing to score a few goals for West Brom and Everton and another being the best player on a league winning side who may also win the CL. If you have a world class player sitting in your laps that will cost you nothing and is an upgrade on a steadily declining current player you don't pass the opportunity. Why would you not want to improve? Obviously it wouldn't be some catastrophic mistake if he was loaned for another season and we're "stuck" with Cech, but the sooner we blood Courtois in the sooner he gets used to being a Chelsea player and playing behind his new teammates. Mourinho keeps talking about ushering in a new generation and Courtois is it.
-
Nope, you're not alone. What he said is 100% true. As he said, both far too good to coexist or be cup players.
-
If he's made to look great in a defensive setup there at Atleti why would he not look just as good or better in another defensively great side like ourselves?
-
You have a point, and I'd agree with you if he played literally ANY other position, but I think keepers are an exception.
-
Courtois actually has a valid point. He's proven world class at the highest level and has won trophies. Lukaku on the other hand makes it sound like he should be entitled to everything. It makes absolutely ZERO sense to have both he and Cech in the same side.
-
As much as I love Matic, he ain't scoring 15+ goals a season.
-
Not so sure. Addressing the comments once just after it happened and making a joke out of it during his celebration is lighthearted banter. Constantly bringing it up in the media sounds to me as if he genuinely is/was pissed about it.Just wish he'd keep his mouth shut and move on. What the hell are you talking about?
-
Unless he puts on significant weight and just gets fat I think Yaya will be one of those players who can play until his late 30's. His game doesn't rely on pace and he's such a physical freak that I don't see his game deteriorating much anytime soon.As long as he has a workhorse next to him who does the defensive side of the game he'll continue to be a monster in my opinion. Maybe not 20+ goals good but still an elite player.
-
He's a proper asshole, isn't he? Let it go, for fucks sake. If it wasn't for the "puppet" you'd still be rotting in Russia and your competitive career would be over. Be thankful that José put you in the shop window and gave you the privilege of putting on our shirt so that you can extend your career.
-
What's most surprising reading through that thread is that many of them actually WANT to get rid of him! That's insane to me. I figured he was like Hazard is to us; unsellable.I saw some of them yesterday saying "if we can get £25-30m for him then fuck him off." I'd happily see us pay £40m for him! He'd be an enormous loss for them and frankly irreplaceable. There's no like for like replacement for Yaya.
-
Absolutely beautiful kit. I wish we'd actually wear our away kit more often throughout the season. I swear it felt as though we only wore the white kit like 3 times all season this past year.
-
The fact that we haven't even been loosely linked with a single CM by any reputable source just makes me about 80% sure we aren't going to be buying one. José probably sees Ramires as one of the first names on the team sheet still and he'll be a nailed on starter next to Matic next season. If our only addition of note this summer is Costa and/or another backup striker than I can't see much improvement as far as league position goes. Probably move up to 2nd and have a nice shot at the title, but we still wouldn't have as good a side as City. José keeps saying we'll be making "a couple" or "a few" clinical signings but gives us absolutely no idea of where other than striker those signings will be. Probably won't be CM, though, because he seemingly loves Ramires. So where else could it be?
