Still don't get how he fits in there. If they play with a midfield 2, a Kroos & Modric pivot looks too lightweight to me. A midfield 3 of Alonso/Kroos/Modric would be awesome going forward but I don't know about defensively.

At least Khedira can make simple passes and isn't a red card risk every fucking match like Ramires is. A three in midfield of Matic, Cesc, and Khedira doesn't look bad to me.

Khedira is a much better footballer than Ramires. When he's fully fit he's still a very good player. He was shit in the CL final having not played prior in a long time but now that he's starting to regain fitness he's been looking better and totally changed the game for Germany when he came on against Algeria the other day. I'd say that I wouldn't mind us buying him but since it looks nailed on that Tiago is returning I see no way we'd buy him too. Can see him going to Arse or Liverpool and improving either of them. Arse especially.

Only hope is for one of those ultra rich Russian clubs like Anzhi Munchoncocka to come in and offer him a deal way too good to turn down Eto'o style.

Like I said in the Di Maria thread, I doubt another AM is even in consideration for José. If he comes to the PL (which is looking highly likely) he's going to be a great player but we already have 3 players in his best position. Unless we sold Oscar and moved Willian to the #10 position to free up that right side. Not happening.

The Belgian side actually reminds me of how we looked at times during the season. A bunch of super talented and brilliant individuals who aren't playing as a single unit. Everyone trying to do it on their own. Mertens and De Bruyne, while good players, go out for Belgium and act like they're superstars like CR7 and try to do too much. Mertens especially only has one thing in mind whenever he gets the ball and that's to go for a glory goal. Hazard has the same problem that he does here at Chelsea in that he's TOO unselfish at times. He really could be our Robben if he was just more assertive and selfish. He effortlessly beats his markers and has chance after chance to get a shot away but looks for a pass first.

Really wish the media would get some clarification from José ant our keeper situation. Still don't understand how having Cech and Courtois can possibly work.

Just visiting all of our rivals' forums to gauge the reaction to this signing. None of them are really worried or concerned about him at all and think he's got overrated flop written all over him. Can't wait for José to unleash him on this league. I'm predicting 25 PL goals for his first season.
