I guess if he still has great pace.
-
Just wanna know where the heck he gets deployed. Won't be on either wing since Hazard and Willian are there. Fabregas has been playing well as our #10. Since Ramires left I'd assume that RLC will get more minutes in midfield rather than moving Cesc back there. Whose spot is Pato competing for?
-
Lot of good that's done us recently.
-
Therein lies the problem. Rather than buying the real deal we instead go cheap.
-
Another Emenalo signing I would think just like Djilobodji. It's like he's trying to prove that he's so smart by signing unknown players in hopes that he later looks like a genius if they work out.
-
Many said the same about Falcao.
-
Clueless as he is in certain aspects at least he'd (hopefully) have us playing attractive, intricate football and he sets his teams out to dominate rather than be reactive. By the time he leaves City he may have 2 PL trophies on his CV as well so we'd know he has what it takes. To be honest, after this season I wouldn't even mind us having a leaky defense next season as long as we ourselves are blasting teams off the pitch regularly like City do. The most important thing is that whoever it is gets backed with huge funds. The manager could be doomed from the start if we have a repeat of these last two windows whilst our rivals are appointing Pep & Mourinho and have virtually limitless cash and CL football to offer.
-
Maybe he wouldn't. I'd rather go with the known and proven than the unknown, though. As for what he's doing this season I actually can't blame him too much. His best defender and captain has been injured or out all season and he's got can't-be-bothered half the time Yaya who is lazy and doesn't help the team. Still think they'll win the league in the end.

Sorry. Have no clue how to delete quotes so I had to post a blank message. I asked if there's a way in the Forum Update thread and got no answer.

Neither of the Italian managers (Conte & Allegri) excite me at all. Just think they'd be in over their heads here and be gone within a year or two. Honestly, if the choice is between those two and Pellegrini I'd have Pellegrini. At least he has great experience working with a top PL club and knows the ins and outs of English football. Desperately want Simeone as my #1 choice. He'd make us competitors quickly and has the perfect personality.

Would be another idiotic move if we replace him with an expensive striker before we have a new manager.
-
So we probably won't actually see him on the pitch for a while judging by what he said. He won't be match fit for a couple of weeks is my guess. The phrase "helping him get fit" just makes me cringe, though. We said the same with Falcao. As if Chelsea FC is a rehab clinic now or a charity that helps crocked players heal.

Don't think so, myself. Roman won't allow Chelsea to slip into the wilderness. Don't believe any of our best players will be sold. This season will hopefully be a wake up call and I think we'll invest pretty significantly in the summer in top players. Hope we do a United when they finished 7th and went mad with their spending.
-
Still desperately want him at Chelsea in the summer and will be totally gutted if he ends up with Mourinho at United. He clearly needs work and that needs to come under the tutelage of a top coach and surrounded by top players. That deluded, whiny cunt Roberto Martinez is a fraud and doesn't have a clue how to coach defense. We get a top coach (Simeone, Pochettino) and keep JT around for another season or two to mentor him and we'd have a world class player for a decade. I really hope that just because José is gone we've ended our interest. He should be priority #1 still after a manager.
-
Appears that way. This summer will be the true indicator of where the club is headed.
-
That's why a bunch of us are annoyed. The club seems more interested in the farm than the first team these past couple of windows. Buying players who will likely never see first team action (Djilobodji, Hector, Miazga) and players who look doomed from the moment we sign them (Falcao, Pato) makes it look like the higher-ups don't have a clue.
-
I'd rather not make any changes at all in January than sign players to "save" this season. We aren't making top 4 and we aren't winning the CL. Think we have all we need currently to make an FA Cup run. Signing anyone but elite players is in my opinion a waste. And you don't sign elite players without a manager so we may as well wait.
-
Is this really what Chelsea is becoming? Signing crooked strikers on loan and unknown, cheap players no one has ever heard of? Are we becoming a stingy, bargain basement club like Arsenal have been over the past decade?
-
My resume has been sent.
-
Mikel outlasts another one!
-
That kind of cash should get you a sure-fire, world class player not a gamble. If we're willing and able to spend nearly £40m on an attacking player just wait until the summer!

I'm on an iPad.

How do you delete quotes? I can't post in a few threads because I can't figure out how to delete a quote from someone who I didn't end up replying to.

Very useful player in very specific situations but he's got no football brain. Just a high motor athlete. Can't pass well enough (even simple passes, which infuriated me) rarely scores, and is very limited in the creative side of things. Simply having a good "engine" isn't good enough. The rumored £25m is highway robbery.
