  1. I wonder if top players would look at Allegri and want to come to Chelsea and play for him. If he has great pulling power or not. If, for instance, a player is wanted by all the top English sides would they choose a CL-less Chelsea over Pep/Mou/Wenger? This is what my first concern is with Allegri. With Simeone I don't think it's a problem at all. I think the recruitment would be top notch with him.
  2. He just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would jump ship after one poor season with a bit of adversity. I wouldn't say that he genuinely loves the club because that would be naive, but he does seem to like Chelsea and cares about the club. I believe he will 100% stay for next season and see how things shape up under the new manager. If we have another really poor season then he's off for sure. If we have a top manager and a nicely revamped side next season that's challenging for the title it may actually be beneficial to him to not have CL or EL matches. He'll have a season to focus completely on the PL and have plenty of rest to keep fresh the whole way. I hope the club realize that he's essentially irreplaceable at this point in time. If we sell him there isn't anyone in his class available that does what he does. You'll have to buy multiple top class players to make up for his loss. That would be made very hard without CL football and the way we're being so tight with cash these days.
  3. While he did revert to form towards the end of his time here, we can't forget how exciting and pleasant on the eyes our football was in the first half of last season. He may be able to get them playing like that. Unlike us, United actually have a bunch of players who can keep the ball for extended periods of time as well. I think players like Martial and Depay are perfect for Mourinho and both Rooney and José have never hid their admiration for one another so I can see him get a boost in form. The other (and biggest) reason they'll put up with him and why I think he's nailed on to be a success is who he'll be able to attract and sign. He'll make our board look like total mugs if he goes out first thing in the summer and signs the targets he wanted here that we failed to secure. Say he does what he did with Costa and Cesc and in the first weeks of the summer and signs Stones and Pogba. Agree that there's definitely risk, but for a club like them who's desperate for immediate success you can't go wrong with Mourinho.
  4. Wait, Loic Remy is still alive?
  5. That's €25m for his left hand, right? That's the type of shit reporting you'd expect from the English media. The media are already starting their stories where they gleefully say that such and such Chelsea players are getting poached. According to many of them it's a foregone conclusion that Hazard and Costa are gone. May as well not even be Chelsea players anymore... Don't see any of our best player s leaving.
  6. Can only hope Roman won't allow us to become Liverpool and fade into obscurity for years and will throw a shit load of money to get us back straight away. I mean, he has to have learned his lesson that signing those types of players are a big reason why were in this mess.
  7. He's just an uninspiring hire. Underwhelming I guess I could say.
  8. Hopefully since he's so young he'll be able to regain 100% of his pace and athleticism. Those are obviously his biggest assets and it would be a tremendous shame if this derails his career for too long.
  9. The season from hell claims another one. Christ.
  10. It's gotta be because the club think he would somehow undermine the new manager by being such a huge influence over the dressing room. I think it may be a clue that Simeone indeed won't be our next coach, unfortunately. JT is the kind of warrior and leader that Simeone would probably love to keep around. If Roman wants more attacking, free-flowing football and has already been in contact with the new man maybe they've told him that JT simply doesn't fit their philosophy.
  11. Simeone + a top quality creative force behind him and our attack would be absurd. A player in the #10 position who is actually prolific statistically would change us completely. Oscar is just way too inconsistent. Think about how dangerous Costa would look with an Özil type behind him. Fabregas has played well there recently but I still feel he's better further back. We need someone who defenders need to account for at all times and can free up Diego.
  12. When Diego Costa is focused entirely on his football like he has been under Guus he's a monster and a huge annoyance to the opposition. His movement and clever runs are brilliant. Looks like last season's Diego prior to the injuries. When Hazard is reintroduced to the starting XI and with Cesc rounding into form we can hopefully unleash Costa even more. We'd be absolutely mad to even consider selling him back to Atleti. Can you imagine him with a top class #10 in behind him or a mobile second striker like Griezmann? My word!
  13. Slaughtered from wide areas over and over and over again. Inevitable.
  14. Hazard for Oscar would be my switch. Matić and Mikel grew into the game and we could use the protection.
  15. Bossed for the opening 25-30, bossed it from then on. "Oh, look! We can play football too!" they said.
  16. This is quite possibly as poor as I've seen us. Embarrassing football. Getting shit on by the worst United team in the PL era.
  17. Jesus Christ, this is pathetic, man. We can't even pass the fucking ball. They have players like Fellaini out there stroking it around and we can't retain possession for longer than a touch or two. Infuriating.
  18. Being penned in already and struggling ourselves to string together a couple of passes along the ground. Standard Chelsea start.
  19. They have an inexperienced kid at fullback and a midfielder at CB. Having Hazard, Willian, or even Pedro interchanging across the attacking areas could have seen us really causing them problems. Instead, we have almost no width and two limited DM's.
  20. This XI struggled against a promoted team yet we put it out again. How does it make sense? Hazard was instantly our most dangerous player after coming on and has admitted that he fully fit. How on earth isn't he starting?
  21. Are you fucking kidding me with this lineup!? No Hazard AGAIN!? Do we want to win games?
  22. Özil and Arse destroying a small team. Same old, same old.
  23. I feel pretty confident as well. On the other hand, I remember how Martial destroyed Ivanovic repeatedly last time. It would never happen obviously, but playing Azpi on the right and Baba on the left would make a whole lot of sense here so Martial can be handled better. Iva is undroppable of course so I can forget about that.
  24. Depends on our next manager. I'd have him back in a heartbeat if we appoint a more attacking manager or one who loves having loads of possession. If it's Simeone then I'd say no. Still love the little guy. Still good enough to play for a top PL club and too good to go back to Valencia. Just being used completely wrong at United.
