Was actually kind of looking forward to this match thinking Liverpool wouldn't be in top form yet and therefor Norwich would make it competitive. Already done watching before halftime. π
-
Liverpool defense being carved open here repeatedly but their attack looks dangerous every time they go forward. I'm still so jealous of their fullbacks.
-
Yep. That's really the only thing I could take from Frank's words. He must have told him straight up that he would be going with Zouma and AC. Luiz obviously didn't take it well, threw a tantrum, and forced his way out. Pretty soft mentality.
-
Nice, seems RΓΌdiger is even closer to a return than I thought. May be ready for Liverpool in the Supercup.
-
100% nailed on that'll happen if Arse come out the gate strongly. The narrative will eventually switch from "David Luiz forced his way out because he fell out with Lampard" like it is now to "How foolish were Chelsea to gift their direct rival a WOLRD CLASS player!?" I think the smarter pundits like GNev and Carragher will rightly slate Luiz for his disgraceful behavior, but there will be plenty of idiot pundits who act as though we forced him out because we didn't want him.
-
Just watched Robbie on ArseFanTV's latest video about this signing. He's over the moon even though I know for a fact that he and the rest of the dudes on his channel have clowned on Luiz for years. He's also somehow convinced himself that Arsenal have come in and bullied us into selling one of our best players. π As if this is a Van Persie or Alexis Sanchez situation. πππ Like we were desperate to keep him but big, bad Arsenal were to strong a draw and we were forced to sell him.
-
David Luiz's sudden departure fucks us in another way that I didn't even think about until now. Both Zouma and AC have always played as the right sided CB and one will now have to move to the other side. Don't know if that's a big deal at all as I've never played the position, but it's got to be a learning curve, yes? Especially when you've only got a couple of days to get used to it.
-
This is probably bad to say, but I really can't even stand the sight of him. π The dreadful, terrible tattoos all over his head, the low socks, the way he runs. He looks like Bambi on ice. He's a pretty brainless footballer who as you say is very unpredictable. Just can't really think of a scenario where Frank looks to the bench and thinks "right, this situation calls for Kenedy."
-
Let us hope he goes the way of Matic. Started off great and now they're desperate to bin him. Going to miss his spectacular long passes. Not going to miss him totally vacating his area of the pitch or losing his man on corners. Also, no more wasting the majority of our free kicks around the box so Luiz can blast the ball in to row Z.

Eh. This window didn't end up as badly as it could have. I thought United and Spuds would get much stronger than they did. Spuds did indeed get betterment I think to least they yell still be heavily reliant on Kane who gets injured al the time. We won't be getting top 4 anyways so I'm not bothered. Will be annoying as fuck likely seeing Arse improve massively, though.
-
Β£35-40m for Alex fucking Iwobi. That's how you know Everton were desperate after missing out on other attacking wide players. He's such an average player.
-
Just a week ago it seemed as though United would have a killer summer window. Now, unless something big happens within the next hour, their fans are in complete meltdown. πππ They've considerably bolstered their back 4 but have lost their only somewhat consistent goal scorer and are trash in midfield outside of Pogba who doesn't even want to be there. If they had signed a couple more attacking players I figured they'd have been title challengers. Now I think they'll be battling us for 4th/5th/6th.
-
Honestly think he's terrible.
-
If he has a really good season there he could be the signing of the summer for that price. I figured our board would try to bleed a bitter rival for all they could since it's the last day of the window and they're desperate. But it seems we we so keen on getting rid that we took a tiny fee.
-
Quite a few conflicting reports about Dybala. Some saying it's off, other that it's still possible.
-
Nice. While I thought Dybala would be a poor fit at United and wasn't really worried about him going there, I think he would've been fantastic at Spuds sitting behind Kane. Poch could turn him into a truly world class player. They would've had a ridiculous summer had they pulled off that signing.
-
Since it sounds like this'll be a messy divorce, I wouldn't be shocked if Luiz talks shit after he signs for them. "Arsenal is the biggest club in London" and stuff like that.
-
What will be kinda funny and pathetic is all the Arse fans who were shitting and clowning on Luiz as late as this morning suddenly hyping him up as a fantastic signing.
-
Wonder if Lamps will have the stones to directly expose the reason for this sudden fallout or he'll play the dignified diplomat and just wish him well and urge us to move on. I really wanna know how a dude who's essentially a captain for us, who just signed a new deal a few months ago, and who has been excited about the new challenge this season can just suddenly want out. Something untenable must have happened. Have to wonder if his departure effects his mates in the squad. He was clearly super close with Willian, Jorginho, and Emerson. Guess they'll still be living in the same city so will still see each other off the pitch.
-
Pepe, Tierney, Luiz, and Ceballos. Must be said, that's a very decent summer for the North London bastards. The 4 weak areas (CM, RW, LB, and CB) that ArseFanTV and the like have been bitching and moaning about for ages will have all been addressed in a single window. Very, very strong contenders for that 3rd spot. Still interested to see what United and Spuds can pull of tomorrow. Jealous of all the activity from our rivals. π©
-
Luiz long balls over the top to the rapid Auba/Pepe. Luiz defending against top teams with that Arse defense. π He'd deadly for them against the small teams they normally dominate. Liability against the big boys just as he has been for us.
-
Just think about all the times the ball is played back to Kepa under pressure and he then gives it to Luiz to make something happen. He'll now have to give the ball to Zouma who is awful on the ball when under pressure and Andreas who is decent on the ball in possession but doesn't do much at all with his passing. That's pretty scary to think about. Means we'll have to be even more reliant on Jorginho dropping very deep to pick up the ball and recycle. Like I said earlier, I think it'll work out for us in the coming years and will allow us to go big for a CB like maybe Koulibaly next summer. But it could give a Fabregas/Diego Costa like boost to Arse this season. Yuck.
-
The only logical explanation for this at such a late hour and for it to be for a hated, direct rival is that Lamps has told him he won't be starting. What else could possibly make sense? He's had all summer to seek a move and signed a new deal, so he obviously wanted to be here up until now. So maybe Frank during Man United prep has gone with Zouma + AC in training and Luiz lost it and threw his toys out.
-
We'd have to pretty significantly change the way we play without Luiz's ball playing ability. At least until RΓΌdiger gets back and even then we lose a significant weapon without David's long passing and through balls. Ugh. Don't know how to feel about this. The thought that it may help Arse overrides my sense that he may be calamitous at the back for them.
-
I'd actually see this as a bit of a blessing in disguise if we weren't serving a transfer ban. I love David, but he's woeful defensively and a total liability every match. He's great on the ball and is a true leader, but is a ticking time bomb. Sending him to Arse would be kind of funny. Their defense would be just as calamitous and it stops them buying a better CB. But starting the season with only Zouma and AC as fit CB's? That's surely a no-go.
