As good as the side looked in that 4-3-3 against Liverpool, I'm gonna predict that Frank will rotate quite a bit here. Think one or both of Barkley and Mount start and that Tammy starts in place of Giroud as a vote of confidence. The key to this match for me will be how well we defend the wide areas. That goes for our wingers helping out, too. That's where Leicester will try to do their damage. Chilwell and their RB are both really good going forward.

Can't be bothered to watch Liverpool inevitably win so I've been watching Villa-Bournemouth. Villa are fucking shocking all around with the exception of this McGinn dude. He looks a player. Scored well against Spuds last week and has been their only dangerous player again here.

The better tests for Arse's improvement is how they deal with teams that have equal quality. Teams that won't stand off them and allow them to play their game. They've always bullied the minnows and been battered by the big boys. Thing is, Emery has shown the flexibility to play different ways so they can play without the ball and use the crazy pace of Auba and Pepe on the break with Ceballos and Luiz pinging it around. Hard to see a big weakness in their side when everyone is fit. Their defense isn't fantastic or anything but should be far better with Luiz and Tierny. And without Mustafi.

If Eriksen leaves Spuds in this European window I think Arse are strong favorites for 3rd spot. They're still not near City or Liverpool's level but have so many weapons that they'll be up there. Just puts even more pressure on our board next summer to invest heavily. Two clubs have already blown past us. We can't allow fucking Arsenal of all clubs shoot past us out of sight as well.

Ceballos looks almost exactly like Kovacic on the ball but with a better eye for the final pass. Makes a big difference for Arse compared to the midfielders they've been trotting out for the last few years like Elneny, Xhaka, etc.

Well as Arse have played, Burnley have been better. They look very dangerous every time they cross it into the box.

I loathe to say it, but Arse look like they're going to be really strong this season. 😒 They actually have very nice balance for a change. And those two strikers will each score 20 in all comps.

Always thought he was overrated even at his best for Liverpool, but even I'm surprised at how he totally failed at Barca. Still think if he's deployed as a #10 in a 4-2-3-1 he'd be great again. Runners with pace either side and a striker in front of him to play off.

Didn't think he'd be so close to a return. Lamps suggested he may be ready after the international break I think. I assumed when the injury happened that we wouldn't see him again until the new year. Doesn't seem like RLC is as far along. Haven't heard an update on him in a while.

Takes some getting used to seeing a LB who is highly athletic and has pace. Alonso moves like a massive cruise ship.

Though I thought Azpi was much better than he was against United, I can't help but think what we'd look like with a fully fit Reece there. Emerson is such a breath of fresh air at LB now that he seems fully settled. He's a true weapon going forward like clubs such as Liverpool and City have. He's also solid defensively. If we had two modern fullbacks it opens up so many possibilities for us.

Tammy is currently struggling with Morata-itis. He does the hold up play and laying it off well but when it comes to finishing off good team play he chokes. He needs to see the ball go into the net to settle himself. Let's stay behind him.

Not even bothered about the result. Very, VERY encouraged by the performance. Hopefully our best players are ready for Sunday. Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, and Pulisic were all excellent. Pedro and Zouma vastly improved after last weekend. Mount looked super nice coming on. We play a MUCH more effective brand of football thus far under Frank. Attacking with real intent and purpose. Keep in mind as well that Liverpool are European champions and had 2 days extra rest. Yet we were by far the better side. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Not going to be able to watch this live. My only hope/wish is that we don't get battered and humiliated. Two really bad losses within days to start the season won't be good for the mindset and confidence of the squad. Then we have a really tough match at the weekend. 😬

You keep Pedro in the final throw and he's great. Very dangerous anywhere around the opponents penalty area. The problem is everywhere else. He tries to do way too much at times. Tries to dribble his way out of trouble too much, tries to jink and juke too much, and he often gives away silly free kicks in our half by being too eager in his tackles. He's a good weapon to have in our squad but he's got some definite trade offs.

Zouma is who Zouma has always been since his first spell in our team a few years ago. A physical powerhouse with very poor footballing ability and someone who panics under pressure (because he's not confident in said footballing ability). Perfect for a perennial Europa League level club like Everton but not at all good enough technically for a top club like Chelsea. Ask yourself, would the likes of City or Liverpool even consider Zouma if he was available for a small fee? No chance. He'll have solid games for us this season, don't get me wrong. But he'll be a David Luiz-like liability against the top sides.

I love Mourinho, but he can fuck off with what he's said there. Thank fuck Alonso wasn't playing! Emerson was arguably our best player.

Not going to get any easier next couple of matches, really. Liverpool then a solid Leiceser side with Vardy who can (and usually does) torch us on the counter. Hopefully Kante and Rüdiger are back for those.

Spot on from Frank. Glad to also see this same sentiment from almost all journalists and pundits. This was a super harsh score line that really flattered United. Plenty to take away and be hopeful about.
