COME ON, BOYS!
-
We should be bossing the midfield with all these players in there but there's almost no natural width. Huge occasion for Tomori. Let's get 3 points before the international break, please! Would be great to go in with a convincing victory and then have 3 hugely imprortant injured players returning when we come back. Kante, CHO, and Rüdiger returning will feel like new signings.

Don't get me wrong, Sterling is a great player these days. But I swear it seems like 90% of his goals are from inside the 6 yard box. The vast majority come from stunning team play with him reaping the benefits on the end of them. Obviously it takes great skill and know-how to get into those positions, but you hear pundits and some fans calling him the best player in the league or the best winger in the world and stuff like that. Nah, I'm not having that yet. Still don't think he's on Hazard's level. Not his all around play. Sterling is a great player who is made to look world class in Pep's City setup. Hazard would be world class on any team whereas I don't think Sterling would.

Bournemouth seem to often give us a really tough time. But they are always City's absolute whipping boys. City are hardly even exerting themselves here and are totally dominant. Will say though that Nathan Aké has looked class as usual. He'll 100% get another opportunity at a top 6 club. Wouldn't mind if it were us.
-
In both cameo appearences so far Willian has looked like he could barely run. Doesn't look nearly fit yet.
-
Pretty comfortable second half in the end. Once again created many, many chances that a more clinical side would've buried. We could've score a few more. Happy for Tammy and Mason. Frank really trusting them must be such a confidence boost.
-
Our midfield defensively!!! 😂😂😂
-
Barkley has totally reverted back to his average self. He's been mostly terrible.
-
Tammy hasn't had a sniff since his goal.
-
Just look at their two goals on replay there. FFS, both times we had multiple midfielders closing down the ball and putting two man tackles on the ball and they're still able to squeeze through and score. It's ridiculous. No way that should be happening.
-
We create chances at will every game so far under Lamps. That marks a big change from last season. But the same issues with transition defense remain as well and that is our gaping weakness. We desperately need Rüdiger and Kante in the side to stop these ridiculous mistakes and lapses from happening with such regularity. Teams won't just stumble and fumble through us repeatedly with those two in our team.
-
The defense can't defend, we knew that. But all these goals are coming from our midfield missing tackles and them stumbling through them. Fucking infuriating, man.
-
Unbelievable. 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼
-
My god, another injury!? Fuck sake.
-
Kante 😩 He's been like the terminator for the past few years and now it seems he's always got niggling injuries. Makes a tricky away fixture even tougher. Need a bit of Sarriball possession domination here to kill the crowd and take the wind out of their sails.
-
Indeed, if we don't get 6/6 points from our next two fixtures I'll begin to seriously worry. And thats knowing before the season started that it would be a tough year. Getting outclassed against the other big boys is to be expected, but if we can't beat the likes of Norwhich and Sheff United...yikes. Could go from a poor season in which we'd probably finish 5th/6th to a dreadful season where we finish 10th again. It has to be all about maintaining our energy and desire that we blitzed Leicester with initially. Then there's no way Norwich can live with us. But if we gift them a few chances and concede early things can spiral with our mentally weak lot. Anyways, glad we're the early kickoff tomorrow so I don't have to wait around all fucking morning watching all our rivals win before we play.
-
Yeah, I don't really have a bad word to say about Zappa. Think he's been unlucky not to get more runs in the side. Has always looked pretty good going forward and in matches where we knew we were going to absolutely boss possession, he could've come in handy more than Azpi. Good luck to him.
-
Really can't wait for CHO to be back fit. Pedro and Willian already look to be carrying on where they've let off. Willian hasn't had a preseason and it showed today. He was dreadful. Pedro did what Pedro always does. Sensational one match and really poor the next. He gives the ball away so cheaply and fouls players in dangerous areas so often. We need a wide player who has huge pace and scares defenders to pin them back.
-
One moment I'm just remembering that would have totally changed the game. If that Mount header goes in I feel we would've gone on to batter them. It would've demoralized them completely. Fine margins.
-
Also, you could really easily pick out the players who were struggling after the Liverpool match. Emerson especially wasn't nearly as good today going forward. One posiitive I'll single out is Zouma. As poor as he is on the ball most of the time, his pure defending has been very good since the United match. Getting more and more confident.
-
When we play really well our lack of any quality up top is somewhat masked. But when we play poorly it really, REALLY shows just how terrible our options at striker are. We have a black hole in that area. That was a really poor showing with a bit of an excuse due to the midweek match. Leicester are a really good side, but there's no excuse to be battered and carved open like we did. Especially at home.
-
They pinch the ball and counter us over and over and over again. This is shocking.
-
Free header standing a meter from our net. Just wow.
-
We're being dominated on our home pitch by Liecester. The fact that neither one of our CB's can play with the ball is massively hurting us. Kepa is forced to kick it long over and over which just gifts them the bal back. We can't control the ball AT ALL here, wtf!?
-
Half time was badly needed. We couldn't keep the bal to save r lives as the half went on. We need to calm things down, get Jorginho on the ball, and get the wide players running in behind. Leicester are a very good side as they've shown there. We keep giving them the ball in our half and they'll eventually find an opening. Playing it long and hoping Giroud can win it clearly isn't working.
