The media sure likes linking Chelsea with players who failed spectacularly moving to their current big clubs. First Gabigol and now Lemar. While true, I think it's even more risky to not buy anyone this month and wait until summer than it is to buy Zaha for instance now. What if we were to wait and don't finish in the top 4? We then suffer for 6 months in the current season and suffer again in the summer trying to buy from the top drawer. It's a real dilemma. We're in a pretty precarious position right now where if Tammy picks up a lengthy injury we're beyond fucked. Pinning our entire fate this season on a 21 year old is sketchy.

I mean to fair, the club have had months and months to prepare for the moment we'd be able to sign players again and it's abundantly clear which positions we need reinforcement in. I had certainly assumed we'd have acted quickly as soon as the window opened. I'm very surprised that we don't even appear close to signing a single player currently. Sorry, but the more I watch of Gabigol in these vids the less I like him. Looks like a West Ham level signing which is why it makes sense they're after him.

I've watched his highlights just now and I just don't know. It's hard to really judge him. The defending in all of his goals looks like he's playing against amateurs. Just laughably terrible. I suppose it can't get much worse than Michy has been.

I wasn't overly keen on Dembele but I'd rather him than Gabigol who is a total gamble. We don't need another "project" player. We need a player who can hit the ground running.

He will show a glimpse of class here and the with his hold up play or a clever lay off to a teammate, but yeah. Not good enough.

Zaha on one side, Pulisic on the other. Two crazy good, aggressive dribblers with fantastic pace. Or Zaha + Willian. Or Zaha + CHO. He's a player that requires opposing coaches to plan specifically for similar to how Hazard was for us. He's a massive pain in the ass to deal with as a defender, hence why he's amongst the most fouled players in Europe. That's the sort of weapon I want in the side.

Yeah, both positions are needed this month.
