Wonder if Renato Sanches’s injury this past weekend will keep him out. He was their standout player in the first leg.
-
Probably a good result for us. Now Liverpool won’t allow themselves a slip up or letdown performance against Arse. But good lord, seeing Liverpool surge from so many points behind to eventually win the title would be awful. We’d never hear the end of it from the seemingly 100 former Liverpool players in the media.

Thing is with the Saudi’s is that if the political winds change suddenly over the next few years, what’s to say this same thing doesn’t happen to us again?
-
Just for the chaos and meltdowns by journalists, pundits, and opposition supporters I PRAY that these Saudi’s win the bid. The likes of Miguel Delaney and other moral crusaders may have a stroke if this happens.

I know this kind of seismic deal take a while to be settled but it feels from the outside like things have ground to a halt. We really need this cloud over everyone at the club lifted ASAP. I was optimistic after Roman first announced he was selling when reporters said it could happen within days, but now it seems there’s no end in sight.

Even before the contact in the box that should’ve been a pen, Chalobah had like 3 chances to get the ball out of there. A big, strong CB should’ve easily defended that. Just terrible. Much as I have long been critical of Christensen due to him being physically soft for years, when it comes to being calm and intelligent on the ball he is miles better than Trev. Once the ownership stuff is settled and we get to the summer I pray the plan is still to bring in at least 1 new CB. Trev cannot be an every game starter for a team with great ambitions.
-
With Kai in this form and our defense almost impenetrable we’d have a massive chance at retaining our CL title if Chilly and RJ were fit.
-
Newcastle got the exact sort of match they wanted. Gum up the works, stop any sort of flow or rhythm, constant time wasting, constant diving for free kicks. And the referee had one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen in the PL. Their entire objective was to stop football being played today and it ALMOST worked perfectly but for the brilliance of Havertz.
-
My fucking god. ANY contact AT ALL and this ref awards them fouls.
-
St Max against Trev should be fun…
-
Our players like Kante go down, no foul. Their players go down, foul every single time.
-
This ref is a fucking joke. Allowing the. Feels like Newcastle have bought 100 cheap fouls.
-
Chalobah, man….
-
If Sarr or Trev get pressed they can’t to ANYTHING because neither are good enough on the ball. And Newcastle players know it.
-
Reece getting injured again has killed us. Again. There’s zero thrust from either flank. Playing directly into Newcastle’s hands. Our entire game is so dependent on the wingbacks being fit it’s a joke.
-
As dire as anyone could’ve predicted when the team was announced. Newcastle playing the perfect spoiler as well with zero attacking ambition other than to win fouls and slap in crosses. And of course every referee decision going their way. This is as dreadful as we’ve looked this season. Nothing from the fullbacks, nothing from Timo, Havertz got zero service, and Jorginho was extremely poor on the ball.
-
Chalobah and Sarr are SO uncomfortable in these positions. It’s painful to watch neither of them being able to get forward.
-
I thought Tuchel said that Azpi just felt a bit sick last match? Why is he still out, is it COVID?
-
Wait, no Callum Wilson, Saint-Max (from the start), and no Ryan Fraser? Those are the 3 players I was actually somewhat concerned about due to their pace. This is a match we should now be dominating with the XI they have out there.
-
Sarr and Chalobah in the same XI. 😬😬😬 That’s asking for trouble. And Timo starting after that shocker he just had midweek?
-
Nick Candy seems kinda desperate, tbh. Saying a lot of fluff in public to try to get his face and name out there.
-
Hope our lads are well and truly on top of their game and in siege mentality mode. Win comfortably and hear Stamford Bridge buzzing and singing just to piss off all these journalists who are desperate for our club to die. I’ve seen numerous reporters saying this is a battle between “evils” or that this match is “a new low.” Painting the entire club and fan base because of one man.

I’m not worried about Spuds since they’re world class bottlers. So I want to keep United as far from us as possible. They can theoretically go on a CR7 and improved Sancho inspired winning run to end the season and since we still have to play them, they could make us sweat if we lose form. Had both of these dropped points today I think we could’ve safely stopped thinking about them. Now we still have to continue monitoring United’s results for a bit longer.
-
Was hoping for a draw here. Really staggering to think where United would be this season without CR7. He destroys their general play and makes them a terrible watch to neutrals but he seemingly scores ALL of their vital goals. They’d be languishing in midtable without him. They’re awful.

It’s not like we have a sex predator or a club-wide scandal that would damage the reputation of the shirt sponsor by mere association. There’s no right minded person in the world who sees the Hyundai logo on a Chelsea players’ sleeve and thinks “I’m not buying a Hyundai because they support Chelsea!” It’s just performative bullshit.
