hmm.. fair enough. but think you are way off about koke. koke would make a great DLP. even last season, he played some matches as a B2B or an LCM and he was really good. also, i dont think ATM's problem lay in the midfield. their midfield was as good as the previous season. mandzukic simply dint fit well at ATM. whats more, their LB let them down all season long. koke-luis were atm's most potent weapon and neither ansaldi not siquera could reciprocate that. not at all surprised that atm want luis back.

i think 15mil is a lot of money and what he is worth of. he is just another prospect. he is a good defender with "potential". also, it does not matter if he gets better or not. he simply is the "new shiny toy" right now. in a season or 2, he would be old news, less hyped and not so pricy. just the way english media, clubs and players work. look at barkley. 2 years ago he was "the next rooney", today (despite being 21), he is out of the picture.

what we can do is not overpay right now. wait for atleast a season, let the stones hype fall down (since the media and fans WILL get someone new to hype next season) and then buy him for a sane sum. 20mil for stones is 5 mil too much and that bid got rejected. not worth a penny more than 20mil (if that). nope. never. if GC can look WC in our system, we can make any defender look good. we already have zouma, we have iva, GC, with kalas, omerou, chirstensen coming in. dont even understand why would want to buy him at the moment when we already have 4 options (iva included).

my bad, i read "nathan" and i presumed "ake", while its the brazilian who has gone to vitesse. as for bamford, i saw it in the player thread. the point being, these guys are not going to be a part of our season, i just dont see the point of taking them and giving them game time, when it can be used for the players who will be needing these games to get back to prime fitness.
