  1. dude, why do you think only you know how the world works? apparently everyone else is just playing fifa or is clueless. get off your high horse. if we trigger the buyout clause, the ball is in pedro's court. a barcelona youth player who has spent his life there. why do you think they would have made him sign a contract which made his buyout reduce from 150mil euros (apparently) to 30mil euros (again apparently). you think barca would not have made sure that they are covered in every which way? this is a team that is buying players in a transfer ban and has done every shady thing possible when related to transfer. if they want to keep pedro (which i think should be obvious) they will end up keeping him.
  2. why are people reacting to the 49mil price in this way. it should not be a shock. 50mil was the quoted price. we were ready to pay 40mil which was still double of what he is worth. and if the 200kpw is legit then this is just LOL
  3. remy will be very useful as a 2nd/3rd striker as well as the 4th winger. so selling him for 10mil would be a disastorous transfer as we would need to buy 2 players. i am pretty sure jose is not going for a squad signing AM cos of remy and traore.
  4. there will be a lot more things, but i am pretty sure, barca will get what they want. also, i am pretty sure, they would not want to sell pedro until jan. so honestly, i dont have any hope for this right now.
  5. they already had a place in squad last season. they have been promised NOTHING new. barca have MSN, rakitic, iniesta, biscuits and pedro as their ONLY options for front 6. selling pedro would be idiotic to say the least. LOL, if only things were as simple as that. they are barca, they ll pay pedro 2-3mil extra if they have to keep him.
  6. munir and sandro played some matches in the start of the last season as well (neymar injured and suarez banned). both were less than impressive. barca would be crazy selling pedro with no quality backup. he is a CM.
  7. is kenedy officially even a chelsea player?
  8. do people really expect this to happen in the summer. i dont give it a chance. barca literally have no other option except for MSN for the front 3 positions. they will not sell pedro until they get turan and vidal in jan.
  9. dude.. there are a lot of options if u feel this way. put me on ignore or rather just ignore the posts i write. you dont have to quote me telling me to not write in the oscar thread again, cos as far as i remember thats exactly what happened, did not it? well, i am not banned from writing in this thread and i would like to exercise my right to write (just like in the turan thread).
  10. thats very very harsh. i think i have had this discussion before maybe on the forum or somewhere else. ballack was briliant in 09-10 too. infact it was the fact that we could not properly replace ballack after 09-10 that made us suffer so much. the general control of the midfield, those small niggling fouls to stop the play, providing steel and character, always turning up. we missed that. and thats exactly what bastian brings. u have compared him with deco in the previous post which is very unfair. deco had a hard time adjusting to PL. dont think bastian would. infact he is as close to ballack as you can get. and if he reciprocates what ballack did with us, united are in for a treat.
  11. completely different stages of career. and infact completely different scenarios. rooney is a striker being played as a CAM/midfielder. he played 14 games as a midfielder, 4 games as a CAM, 14 games as a ST. his general play is still top notch (2 seasons ago he was jose's primary target). so i just cant see how people are already ruling him out. a striker needs consistency. infact any striker does. its very unfair to judge rooney on last season as a striker.
  12. arsenal have been "title challengers" for the past.. let me guess.. 2,3,4 maybe 5 or 6 years. its the dna of the club.
  13. rooney scored 4 goals, 3 assists playing as a striker in 14 games with no consistency and probably not even in back to back matches considering how much shuffling united went thru. try that with any another player and see if you get any better numbers. also, dont strikers work on consistency and a golden run. you do understand that my post was to give you the similarities between teams having "ball players", "not a world class striker" and "finding it difficult to break down teams". things WILL not be exactly the same. but to not count united as a title contender cos they are playing rooney upfront is suicidal. and honestly except for a couple of people, i think most on here agree that united would be a title challenger next season. sorry, i got you and "oscar" (the poster, not the player before people start jumping down my throat) confused.
  14. since you are so sure of exactly whats gonna happen and even spelled out the exact way its gonna happen, i dont see much of a point. http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115851 http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115837 http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115868 http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115883 http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115895 http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115901most of the people on here think its a fantastic buy. which would improve united as a team. except for u, and "oscar" (the poster not the player before people start jumping down my throat).
  15. solely defensive football? so we were playing defensive football when we lost to palace, villa, sunderland, drew at home to norwich. out of 38 games, we must have played 5-6 games relying on our defense (city home and away, pool away, arsenal away, united away). maybe couple others AT MAX. so it does make A LOT OF SENSE, specially when your argument was that united need a world class striker or would find it difficult "to break down teams". how many games did rooney play as a striker for u to consider that? please give that number too. we did park the bus, but herrera's quality on the ball was evident in that match. not just my opinion though http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13774-bastian-schweinsteiger/?p=1115895.
  16. lvg is a fan of 4-3-3. if he reverts back to it (which seems more and more likely considering the players they have), i see these being their main 11. depay-rooney-mata ADM-carrick-bastian or depay-rooney-ADM herrera-carrick-bastian or depay-rooney-mata herrera-carrick-bastian a team definitely to be reckoned as a PL contender. if they get a quality CB (ramos/otamendi), they will be right up there.
  17. hahahha.. sure dude.. i guess lvg and most of the people on here are idiots. awesome. great.
  18. you have not seen herrera control the game? i guess you dint watch the chelsea v united at bridge last season. or various other games. rooney scored 14 goals last season playing as a midfielder. so dont tell me that "he is finished" or " not a danger anymore". did we have a good striker in 13-14? hell no. did we have players who loved ball on their feet (hazard, oscar, willian), hell yes. did we have problems breaking down defences? hell yes. how close were we to win the league? very. infact a home defeat (which had never happened under jose) "close".
  19. it definitely helps mata. the players he will be feeding are not fellaini, young and valencia with a stagnant rvp/falcao upfront. they wont have to go long ball which mata is useless at but rather much better link up play with someone with the quality of bastian.
  20. and they have lost the 2 biggest failures of their previous campaign - rvp and falcao. both players had lost all their danger in the box. were not converting chances and infact the game i saw rvp and falcao playing together (or even indivudually) they were poor. they will have rooney upfront and no longer trying to be a midfielder. a good winger/inside forward in depay (something they dint have last season). maria will have had a year more in PL which is important as well as the quality of bastian. things will be completely different for united this time around (not saying definitely successful but definitely different). no more young and valencia fluffing crosses on the wing, or playing a one dimensional player as a RB etc etc.
  21. herrera can very well control a game. mata might not be as good as he was with us in 11-13, but this is the exact signing which can make him a huge threat again. i have been hearing this since 2010, yet every year rooney gets the goals and assists. in the last 4 season (11-15) he has got 83 goals, playing as a CAM, striker, midfielder and what not.
  22. 13mil euros. 10 mil pounds. they got rvp off their wage bill. they have 75mil per year deal with adidas (more than double of our deal). they can afford it.
  23. rvp and falcao were both disastorous last season. infact united's best phase in the season came when fellaini was in form and they had to go to long ball. with rooney upfront, things can change massively.
  24. fair enough. but its still worth the risk. 14mil pounds for a WC player. even if he plays half the games for united in the season, he will be worth the money.
  25. are u kidding me. they have mata, ADM/herrera, rooney. so many ball players through which the attack can be concentrated.
