What Was The Most Absurd Appointment
Liquidator replied to Changingman_2000's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I feel a bit sorry for Avram Grant really. He was more or less chucked into the job, yes it was a stupid appointment to make but he didn't do too badly and wasn't a class A wanker like Benitez. It was a stupid appointment but it wasn't his fault. -
midtable Championship team so they have enough quality to beat us. Their best player is probably Luciano Becchio. They will be well up for it though because of the history between the teams and because the majority of their fans are a bunch of thugs

Fetch in Ian Dowie- proven at the top level by ruining Charlton Athletic. A stable club that Alan Curbishley had just left, Ian decides that he needs to spend in excess of £15m on new players for the club. He is sacked half way through the season with Charlton bottom of the table and not even football's favourite Houdini Alan Pardew is able to save them I'm sorry so many of my posts this afternoon/evening have been complete bollocks, I'm just disillusioned by the state of the club and using TalkChelsea as an escape from a very boring and tedious photography project

Oh crap just remembered that twat Neil Warnock is their manager. His droning voice moaning about how the ref was shit and how we are cheats is the last thing I want to hear after losing to them.
-
losing to these chavs will really rub salt into the wounds. Oh well look on the bright side of life its Christmas soon.

Because when other players are average he is very poor. When other players are poor he is awful. He has been continually bad bar one or two blips of about an hour during his 2 years at the club.
-
and the other 10 players on the pitch? Or should it be acceptable that we rely completely on Mata to win us games.
-
Sack RDM they said, he is a tactically inept idiot they said, we will win fuck all with this clown in charge they said. Benitez so far: 0-0 vs Man City- decent result, first game against the Champions, not expecting too much 0-0 vs Fulham- the sort of game you really need to be winning or at the very least look like we are going to win. Dire and uninspiring, Fulham could have beaten us 1-3 vs West Ham- never nice to lose to the pikey boys, especially when we played so well in the first half. Diabolical second half 6-1 vs Nordsjaelland- pub team, shouldn't class it as a win really because we have such a better squad than them 3-1 vs Sunderland- have been awful all season but it was quite a good win 3-1 vs Monterrey- again, a pub team, Championship standard at best. They were so bad that they made Torres look like Messi 0-1 vs Corinthians- awful performance

So Mata has one bad game and some people are giving him a slating for it. How many times has he been the only one who has looked like he is trying or come to our rescue when others don't give a fuck? He played badly once, and has had to carry the weight of a piss poor team on his shoulders for the past few weeks.
-
It would be nice to think that we could promote someone like Steve Holland but I fear that he would be looked upon in the same way as Avram Grant- a nobody who got the job because someone else got sacked (RDM wasn't looked upon in this way because he was already a Chelsea legend) and not a big enough name. Alternatively, he may be looked on like AVB was when he was made manager- someone who was 'only a scout or assistant coach beforehand'. Redknapp obviously isn't available but at the time of RDM's sacking he was my number 1 choice, whether or not he was willing to take a temporary job or would have got a longer contract we will never know. Kevin Keegan just wouldn't happen with Abramovich in charge in my opinion.

The fact that he is 100% Chelsea will mean that he will have the ability to unite the dressing room a lot easier than Rafa. He has a better relationship with the players having known them for a long time and as club captain he would most likely have their backing. Managers these days often have other staff working with them, tacticians, scouts etc. who would make his job easier. Rafa does not always take training sessions and sometimes leaves it to people like Steve Holland who know enough about what to do with regard to sessions and routines. I don't think JT should be the one studying tactics etc. but he would certainly be useful in giving team talks and motivational speeches to players in matches and training sessions.

It might sound stupid and drastic but I genuinely think it would work and get us a top 6 finish. Whether or not he has the coaching badges to do it I don't know

fully expect to get our arses handed to us by Leeds on Wednesday night. The flight back to London is not due to land until Tuesday afternoon local time according to BBC Sport, virtually the whole squad has travelled so they will all have jet lag and 24 hours to recover before playing the scum. EDIT: Cech Ferreira Ivan Luiz Bertrand Azpilicueta Lampard Mata Marin Piazon Moses* *If Sturridge is fit then him up front and Moses instead of Piazon

When is he going to cut this 'positives' crap from his post-match press conferences? ''Against a good team we had four clear chances, you don't normally see that many in a final, so that means a lot. 'For some players coming back, like Frank Lampard, it will be an improvement on his match fitness. For others, it will be a good experience; they will know what it's like to play against a strong South American team and to play in another continent with a different atmosphere.'' wow four chances. I'd be expecting at least that with Mata, Hazard and Oscar in midfield. Lampard gaining match fitness and playing in a different atmosphere- if that isn't clutching at straws for positives I don't know what is.
